It's a bit disgusting.

When I think about it, it really makes my stomach turn.

The whole situation is just so unappealing and revolting.

It's like a bad smell that you can't get rid of, lingering in your mind and making you feel queasy.

I don't know how anyone could find it acceptable or even remotely pleasant.

Maybe it's just me, but to me, it's truly a repulsive thing.

Every time I recall it, I can't help but cringe and feel a sense of disgust wash over me.

I hope I never have to encounter anything like it again.

It's the kind of experience that leaves a lasting negative impression and makes you question the sanity of those involved.

Overall, it's just a really disgusting and unpleasant thing that I would rather forget.

Everything I would expect from the author of Bleach is present in this work. There is intense action that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. The battles are vividly described, with blood splattering and weapons clashing. It's a true spectacle of combat.

The characters are also a major highlight. They are well-developed and have unique personalities. Each one has their own motives and backstories, which add depth to the overall narrative. Whether it's the heroic protagonist or the complex antagonists, they all draw you in and make you care about their fates.

The use of blood in the story gives it a sense of realism and danger. It shows the consequences of the actions and the high stakes involved. It's not just about the action, but also about the emotional and psychological toll it takes on the characters.

Overall, this work lives up to the expectations set by the author of Bleach. It combines thrilling action, great characters, and a touch of blood and gore to create an engaging and unforgettable experience.

The debut work of the famous bleach-like mangaka Tite Kubo.

The graphic style of the album is extremely well-crafted and attractive, with an excellent character design and interesting action scenes, as is traditional for the author.

However, the plot and dialogues, and also in this regard it can be said as is traditional for the mangaka, leave much to be desired from several points of view. The characters are rather stereotypical and have typical and predictable developments within the scope of shounen action manga.

Nevertheless, the reading progresses smoothly and pleasantly, and even though it does not contain particular reflections or intellectual values, it entertains without problems.

Overall, it is a work that has its strengths in the graphic aspect but falls short in some other areas, yet still manages to provide an enjoyable reading experience for fans of the genre.

Kubo's (Bleach!) first graphic novel, Zombie Powder, is an exciting and unique tale. It is set in a wild western-flavored world and stars Gamma, a chainsaw sword-wielding ultra criminal who, surprisingly, is the good guy. There's also CT Smith, a super shooter who always wears a suit, and Elwood, a young kid with a desperate desire to bring his older sister back from the dead.

These three characters embark on a dangerous quest to face the gangs that rule the world and gather the 12 Rings of the Dead. It is said that these rings can create zombie powder, a concentrated life force that has the power to either return the dead to life or make the living immortal.

One of the strengths of Zombie Powder is its action and great characters. Gamma is like a modern-day Robin Hood, Smith is both amusing and intimidating, and Elwood gives the story heart and soul, making him a truly compelling lead. However, the action can sometimes be hard to follow, and the story often devolves into long fight scenes in a Matrix-style of storytelling. Despite these flaws, Zombie Powder is a fun and wild ride through the world of ink. It is recommended for public collections that include manga or as a starting point for those who are new to the genre. (Teen age range)

It should be noted that the graphic novel contains elements such as implied rape, torture, and other criminal activity, as well as implied gore.

You wanna talk about a series I regret having to part with? Well, then it's time to (finally) talk about Zombie Powder.

Most people are more familiar with Tite Kubo's BLEACH. In fact, it's heralded as one of the Big Three [along with Naruto and One Piece] that served as gateway anime and manga series for many fans in the early 2000s. I'll be honest, I tried getting into BLEACH, but after 5 volumes, it just wasn't clicking for me, so I gave up.

But when a friend picked up the first volume of Zombie Powder because it was by the same creator, I warily borrowed her copy and gave it a shot. And I fell in love pretty instantly. Maybe it was due to my previous experience with similar series like Trigun and Cowboy Bebop, or perhaps there was just something in this series that clicked for me where BLEACH failed.

Whatever it was, I loved it so much that I immediately had to go buy my own copy and dedicatedly collected the other three volumes as they were released. But I was heartbroken when I learned that the series got cancelled long before it was brought to the states and I'd never see where it was meant to go from where volume 4 leaves off.

Still, I held onto them tightly until I was forced to sell them to appease my parents. But I never forgot about Zombie Powder and made it a goal to hunt down the books again. Growing up and seeing the series go out of print has slowed my plans, but I'm not giving up until I own all four again.

So, let's go through this first volume. We're introduced to a straightforward setting and a generalized goal for the characters. In this world, there are 12 magic rings called the Rings of the Dead. When brought together, they can produce a substance called "zombie powder" that can allegedly grant eternal life to the living and restore life to the dead.

People seeking the rings are called "powder hunters", and we quickly gather a band of protagonists who are powder hunters for varying reasons. The story is somewhat bloody and gory, but it's very fast-paced and has well-played humor that keeps it entertaining. The volume ends on a somewhat dramatic, climatic moment, which I think is to its advantage.

Now, let's go over the [currently three] main characters you meet in this story. First, we have Gamma, a powder hunter and our main protagonist. His character design was what Kubo said he later based another character in BLEACH off of, at least loosely. Gamma walks onto the scene looking like a badass edgelord, but we quickly learn that his outwardly comic and overplayed ridiculous demeanor is an act to hide a deadly killer and buried secrets.

Then there's Elwood, a street urchin with a heart of gold. He's a side protagonist but serves as a POV character in many ways. Elwood becomes a powder hunter shadowing Gamma after his sister is killed by the gang that trained him as a pickpocket and has been harassing and using him.

Finally, there's Smith, my favorite character of the three. He's initially introduced among an antagonist raiding group and we see him go toe-to-toe with Gamma in a fight. Later, he shows up to free Gamma and Elwood when they're being held hostage. Smith is the only man who is a match for Gamma in terms of combat skill and capability. He's the most mysterious character in the group, with very little known about him beyond his name (which might be a pseudonym) and his skill with a gun. He's also incredibly devious, as we see in the final conflict in this volume.

In conclusion, yes, this first volume of Zombie Powder is a bit rough, as first volumes of manga tend to be. But it's so worth the read. It's a lot of fun and plays with so many tropes in a vibrant way that makes it memorable.

I've been in a Bleach mood lately, so I decided to go back and revisit Tite Kubo's first manga series.

When I was a teenager and first got my hands on these books, I was completely obsessed. They were like my comfort food, and I would frequently read the four volumes.

Even now, as I'm rereading them, it's still giving me that same wonderful feeling. It's amazing how a piece of literature can have such a lasting impact on our emotions and memories.

Each panel is filled with beautiful illustrations and engaging storylines that draw you in and keep you hooked from start to finish. It's like stepping into a whole new world, one that I'm more than happy to explore again and again.

I'm really enjoying this trip down memory lane and can't wait to see what else this manga series has in store for me.

This was surprisingly good.

I really enjoyed reading it. The story had its own charm and the characters were quite likable.

I'm not sure why it got cancelled. It seems a bit unfair considering its potential.

Sure, it was a little trite at the end, but it wasn't much more so than other mangas out there.

There are many mangas that follow similar patterns and still manage to gain a large following.

This one had something special about it that made it stand out.

Maybe it was the unique art style or the engaging plot.

Whatever it was, it's a shame that it didn't get the chance to continue and develop further.

I hope that one day, it will be revived and given a second chance to shine.

Until then, I'll cherish the memories of reading this wonderful manga.

My favorite kind of characters in my favorite kind of setting are truly captivating.

Gamma Akutabi is an extremely fascinating figure. He is a seemingly undefeatable seeker of the 12 Rings of the Dead. These rings, when united, hold the power to grant eternal life or raise the dead. His pursuit of these rings makes for an exciting and mysterious storyline.

Elwood, on the other hand, is just a kid. However, he is an expert pickpocket with a determined spirit. He is so set on joining Gamma on his quest that it's truly awesome. The contrast between Gamma's experienced and almost mythical status and Elwood's youthful enthusiasm and unique skill set creates a dynamic and engaging duo. Their adventures together are sure to be filled with excitement, danger, and unexpected twists.

Overall, this combination of characters and setting has all the elements to make for a thrilling and unforgettable story.

Incomplete, it is not worth more than just for the simple curiosity of other works of Tite Kubo.

This statement implies that whatever is being referred to as "incomplete" may have some value in piquing the interest of those who are curious about Tite Kubo's other works. However, it does not hold significant worth beyond that.

Perhaps this incomplete piece is a draft, a concept, or a partial creation that lacks the fullness and polish of his other completed works. While it may offer a glimpse into Kubo's creative process or initial ideas, it may not be on par with the quality and impact of his finished masterpieces.

Nevertheless, for fans and enthusiasts of Tite Kubo, even an incomplete work can hold a certain allure and provide an opportunity to explore and speculate about what could have been.

If you were a fan of Bleach, Devil May Cry, and Red Dead Redemption, then you are bound to be captivated by this unique creation that seems to be a strange offspring of the three. Brought to you by the same talented individual who gave us Bleach, here we have a lone, incredibly powerful warrior on a quest. Instead of seeking 7 Dragonballs, he is in pursuit of 12 Rings of the Dead. And these rings, rather than granting a wish like in a traditional story, are said to possess Zombie Powder that can either raise the dead or bestow immortality upon someone.

All the sarcasm aside, this work is truly a great read so far. It offers a wonderful blend of action, which keeps the readers on the edge of their seats, and comedy, which provides light-hearted moments to balance out the intensity. Moreover, Gamma, the main character, has a personality that is like that of an old soul. He is constantly trying to impart some valuable lessons about life, living, and what it means to be human to his companion and, by extension, to the readers. It is this depth and complexity that make this story a worthy 5/5.

Overall, it is a must-read for those who enjoy a good mix of genres and a character-driven narrative that delves into the deeper aspects of the human experience.
