Unfortunately, the curse of Zombie Powder is that it will always be compared to the insanely popular Bleach. In fact, you're probably reading Zombie Powder because you are a huge fan (as am I) of Bleach. The stories are different, but it is obvious where Bleach got its beginnings.

Picking up Zombie Powder, the one thing that stood out to me was how much the cover looked like the cover of Bleach, Volume 24: Immanent God Blues.

So, naturally, I couldn't stop making the comparisons as I read through. Undeniably, Tite Kubo's artistry has become more refined over the years since his first manga publication. There is a definite maturity to his skill that can be seen in Bleach. To be fair, though, that will be the only comparisons I make as this is a review for Zombie Powder.

Zombie Powder is a Western-style story adventure complete with gunslingers and outlaws. When tragedy strikes, Elwood joins the infamous Gamma Akutabi in search of the 12 Rings of the Dead. The story wasn't all that exciting until Mr. Smith appeared, and then it started to get interesting. I loved that his favorite words are "D Cup"! Perv!

The characterization and story aren't strongly developed, but it's interesting enough to continue. It's a decent debut manga that I'm curious enough about to find out what happens next. The characters, although not fully fleshed out, have their own charm. Elwood's determination in the face of tragedy is relatable, and Gamma Akutabi's mysterious nature adds an element of intrigue. Mr. Smith, with his rather inappropriate catchphrase, provides some lighthearted moments in an otherwise serious plot. Overall, Zombie Powder shows promise and has the potential to develop into a great story with more depth and complexity in future installments.

This is a really quite good action manga.

I have just finished reading the first volume and I'm already looking forward to reading #2.

The story has a lot of potential, especially with the mention of the quest for the Rings.

I'm hoping that in the second volume, we will really get into the heart of this quest and see the characters face more challenges and adventures.

The action scenes in the first volume were very well drawn and exciting, and I'm expecting the same level of quality in the next volume.

Overall, I'm really enjoying this manga and can't wait to see what happens next in the story of the quest for the Rings.

FKUB
Zombiepow
v. 1

FKUB is an interesting and unique entity. It might refer to a specific project, a code name, or something entirely different. The term "zombiepow" associated with it gives an air of mystery and perhaps a hint of something powerful or undead. In this version 1 of FKUB, there could be many possibilities and features that are yet to be explored. It could be a software, a game, or a concept that is in the early stages of development. As we look at FKUB in this initial form, we can only wonder what the future holds for it. Will it evolve into something significant and revolutionary? Or will it remain a niche and curious creation? Only time will tell as more details and updates about FKUB zombiepow v. 1 are revealed.

Never Trust A Pickpocket!

This story serves as an excellent beginning to the series and offers a wonderful introduction to the main characters. Elwood, at this point, appears to be slightly overwhelmed and out of his element. However, I am extremely eager to witness how his character evolves and grows throughout the course of the story. Gamma, on the other hand, presents himself as a cool and composed individual. Nevertheless, there are moments when he can be rather idiotic, which adds an interesting layer to his personality. Mr. Smith, with his overly cheery disposition, seems a bit too good to be true. It will be fascinating to see if there is more to him than meets the eye. As the story progresses, I am sure there will be many more surprises and developments that will keep me on the edge of my seat.

The truth is that I read this and didn't know it was by Tite Kubo. I knew the drawing was familiar to me.

Anyway, the thing with this manga is that it's discontinued because the author started Bleach which is amazing and I recommend it to the world. The story is about Eliwood who meets Gamma who is on his mystical search for the zombie powder that revives the dead and gives immortality. Eliwood tags along and they meet people and so on.

Read it, although it's discontinued and the explanations are strange or non-existent, you'll have a laugh for a while and see the beginnings of what is currently one of the best mangakas in Japan. :D

Yet another good little side manga that Tite-kun has come up with! ^>^

I really liked this one the most because it's totally well thought out. The storylines are engaging and full of surprises.

The characters sort of resemble the ones from Bleach a little bit, which gives it an added charm. xD

However, it's sad that there are only a few volumes released so far. T_T

But nonetheless, I love Zombie Powder anyway. xD

It has a unique and interesting concept that keeps me hooked from the very beginning.

The art style is also quite good, adding to the overall atmosphere of the manga.

I hope that more volumes will be released in the future so that I can continue to enjoy this wonderful manga.

Tite-kun really knows how to create great manga, and Zombie Powder is no exception.

I highly recommend it to all manga lovers out there.

[Series Length: 4 volumes / Read: volume 1]

This is an earlier work by Kubotite, the mangaka behind the highly popular "Bleach" series. "Zombie Powder" showcases rather rough-looking artwork and moderate action. It didn't manage to capture my attention strongly enough to make me want to explore beyond the first volume. The story and the art style didn't have that certain charm or excitement that would have compelled me to continue.

However, if you find yourself bored and in search of an action series presented in manga format, this title might just meet your requirements. It could potentially offer some entertainment value, especially if you're not overly挑剔 about the quality of the artwork or the complexity of the plot. While it may not be a masterpiece like "Bleach", it could still provide a bit of diversion for those looking for something to read.

In conclusion, "Zombie Powder" is an average manga series that may appeal to some, but it didn't quite do it for me.

A vaguely interesting premise was presented by the creator of Bleach. I found it engaging enough to complete reading. However, it seemed to be overly violent, which prevented it from maintaining my attention for an extended period. I considered continuing the series, but with so many other things on my reading list, I doubted I would have the time.

UPDATE: 6/9/17:

After rereading this title, I must admit that I enjoyed it to a much greater extent. I actually began reading volume 2 and have volumes 3 and 4 on order at the library. It's not a bad series at all - it's quite interesting so far. Although it has its weak moments and feels like a first series, one can clearly see that Kubo has the potential to be a great writer. To that end, I've also decided to start reading Bleach.

For these reasons, I've revised my original rating from 2 to 3.

Definitely a prototype Bleach, huh.

I mean, the Gamma Prototype sketch is totally Renji. It's a little more focused than Bleach, too. The quest is stated up front, vs. Ichigo having to be jerked around a bit. Also, \\"defence\\" is a vague goal with no solid end compared to \\"find 12 specific rings\\".

On the other hand, I don't have a lot to say about it. Clearly it ends sooner than Bleach does, or it would have an anime or at LEAST a live-action drama. This is based on evidence that 8 to 9 manga/manhwa English-language releases usually lead to an anime/live-action drama release.

* It's interesting enough *so far* that I would read more to see where it goes, anyway.

*Counter-evidence: Tower of God only has two so far but has an anime. However, it has a LOT of webtoon episodes. Although I can't think of any series that has 8 to 9 English-language volumes that does NOT have an anime.

Overall, while the Gamma Prototype has some similarities to Bleach, it also has its own unique aspects. The clear quest and more focused nature make it an interesting read. However, without more information, it's hard to say exactly how it will compare to other popular manga series. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it to see where the story goes and if it will eventually get an anime or live-action adaptation.

Kubo's first graphic novel, Zombie Powder, presents a captivating Western-flavored narrative. It features Gamma, a chainsaw sword-wielding ultra-criminal who surprisingly takes on the role of the good guy. Then there's super shooter and suit wearer C.T. Smith, and Elwood, a young lad with a desperate desire to bring his older sister back from the dead.

The trio embarks on a perilous journey to face the gangs that rule the world. Their mission is to gather the 12 Rings of the Dead, which are rumored to possess the power to create zombie powder. This mysterious substance is said to be concentrated life force that can either resurrect the dead or bestow immortality upon the living.

What makes Zombie Powder truly engaging are its thrilling action sequences and remarkable characters. Gamma is the epitome of a "Robin Hood" figure, while Smith manages to be both amusing and intimidating. Elwood, on the other hand, provides the story with soul, and all three characters form a perfect combination of compelling leads. However, the action can sometimes be a bit hard to follow, and much of the story seems to devolve into a "Matrix" style of storytelling, with long stretches of fighting interspersed with brief bouts of plot.

Nonetheless, Zombie Powder offers a fun and wild ride through the world of ink. It is recommended for public collections that already include manga or as an introduction for those that don't. The target audience is grades 9-12. It should be noted that the graphic novel contains elements such as implied rape, torture, and other criminal activity, as well as implied gore.

A weird, yet highly enjoyable story indeed. I have a particular soft spot for the moment when Wolfina stops a gang rape. I believe it was in either book 3 or 4. You go, girl!

Her actions are truly heroic. She stands up against the forces of evil and shows no mercy to those who would use dirty methods to hurt others.

As she proclaims, "People who use dirty methods to hurt others... will be destroyed by methods that are even dirtier than theirs! That's what I call justice!" This statement not only emphasizes her determination but also her belief in a kind of retributive justice.

Wolfina is a character who embodies strength and courage in the face of adversity. Her actions serve as an inspiration and a reminder that we should always stand up for what is right, no matter the cost.

The story as a whole is filled with such moments of excitement and drama, making it a truly engaging read from start to finish.

By the guy who brought us Bleach, now brings us Zombiepowder. This is one of his earliest mangas.

So far, I'm not quite sure how I feel about this series. There are tons of action and battle scenes, which makes it really intense. The story revolves around a badass named Gamma Akutabi. He is on a quest to find these rings called the Rings of the Dead. If he manages to collect 12 of them, he will have the power to either raise the dead or achieve eternal life.

The concept seems interesting, but I need to read more to form a complete opinion. The action scenes are well-drawn and exciting, but I'm curious to see how the story develops and if there will be more depth to the characters and their motives.

Overall, Zombiepowder shows promise, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.
