Junji Ito has created yet another masterpiece that I particularly liked.

The horror that leaves the reader in confusion about what is actually happening, it is a standard story in which Ito uses the factor of intimidation and the sense of fear that something has been found that cannot be explained by logic, and thus the game with the human mind of "fear of the unknown" begins and what that can bring.

The main protagonists find a strange fish corpse with legs that emits an unbearable stench. They try to get rid of it but the strange creature is still alive and attacks them. They end up on the beach where they come to the realization that this is not the only creature and that there are more of them.

The story further develops into a more complex situation. We learn who these creatures are, where they came from and what their connection is with World War II.

Although some may think that this is not Ito's best work, the story is unique and I would recommend it to horror genre lovers.

It was the most meaningless thing I had ever read in my life. The father of the house, for some unknown reason, had gone under the main pillar of the house. It was such a meaningless thing. Even though he tried to explain what he wanted to say in a simple way, it was bad.

Perhaps there was a deeper story behind this strange event that was not immediately apparent. Maybe the father was facing some sort of crisis or had a moment of confusion. Or perhaps it was just a random and unexplainable occurrence.

Regardless of the reason, it left a lasting impression on me. It made me wonder about the mysteries of life and how sometimes things happen that seem completely senseless. It also made me realize that there are some things that we may never fully understand.

Nije jeziva kako to Đunđi ume, ali jeste dobra uvertira u standardno uvrnutu priču. Imagine a girl who can't tolerate unpleasant smells to such an extent that she gets a fever, loses consciousness, and there is a stench of death spreading as the fish with legs come out of the water. It's a rather strange and captivating scenario.

Her intolerance to the smells seems almost exaggerated, but it adds an element of mystery and drama to the story. The fact that the fish with legs emerging from the water also contributes to the overall eerie atmosphere.

One can't help but be intrigued by what might happen next. Will the girl overcome her aversion to the smells? What is the significance of the fish with legs? These questions keep the reader engaged and eager to find out more about this unique and somewhat bizarre tale.

Gyo is a horror manga created by the genius Junji Ito, who is also known for works like Tomie and Uzumaki.

It centers around a young boy and his extremely picky girlfriend as they are on vacation at the beach. At first, everything seems to be going well, except for some pickiness and whining from his girlfriend. However, their peaceful vacation takes a turn when they discover an unusual creature that has emerged from the sea. This creature has the body of a fish, but it is equipped with strange legs and tubes protruding from it.

The young lovers have no idea that this is just the beginning of the end, not only for the world but also for their love.

I had a certain liking for Gyo, although it wasn't my absolute favorite among Junji Ito's works. As another reviewer mentioned, it is difficult to feel as connected to these characters as in his other creations. Nevertheless, the story is captivating, and the extras in the book are truly creepy. While it may not be his best work, it is still worthy of collection.

I'm not sure if this manga is scary, but it's quite disgusting.

The art style might not be to everyone's taste, with its rather grotesque and disturbing images.

Some of the scenes are so vivid that they can really make you feel queasy.

It's not just the visuals that are off-putting, but also the story.

The plot seems to be full of strange and unappealing elements that don't really come together in a satisfying way.

Maybe for some people who like the horror and disgust genres, this manga might be interesting.

But for me, it's just too much.

I don't think I'll be reading it again anytime soon.

This is way too good.

It is truly remarkable and超乎想象. The quality and excellence it represents are simply outstanding.

One cannot help but be impressed by its awesomeness.

It stands out from the rest, shining brightly with its unique charm and superiority.

Every aspect of it is carefully crafted and perfected, making it a masterpiece in its own right.

Whether it's the design, functionality, or performance, it exceeds all expectations.

It is a source of inspiration and admiration, leaving a lasting impression on anyone who encounters it.

This is not just good; it is way too good, and it deserves all the praise and recognition it receives.

The creatures in Junji Ito's Gyo are truly unique and not what one would typically anticipate in a horror story.

For starters, these creatures don't seem to be the product of some fictional, otherworldly origin. Instead, they are actual fish that have somehow undergone a strange transformation.

Of course, these fish have been modified in significant ways. They can now move around on land, thanks to prosthetic limbs that closely resemble the back legs of camel crickets. What's more, they appear to possess sentient abilities, able to distinguish their prey from other moving objects.

As the story progresses, the fish swarm out of the seas around Okinawa and invade the land without discrimination. Carp, squid, sharks, and even a toothed whale join in the chaos. They leave the ocean almost completely empty and spread their disease and the abhorrent stench of death across the land inhabited by mammals.

Tadashi and his girlfriend Kaori, who was orphaned, were looking forward to a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. However, their plans are quickly derailed when one of these strange creatures invades their vacation home and terrifies the neurotic and scent-sensitive Kaori. The two, completely unprepared for this invasion, start to argue with each other, each blaming the other for ruining the tranquility of their escape. It's not until they see the first creature that they begin to realize the strange events unfolding around them. Kaori braces herself for the worst, while Tadashi remains calm, thinking that the bizarre "walking fish" is just a natural anomaly.

The horror-genre science in the book becomes increasingly evident as the story unfolds rapidly. As the reader delves deeper into the world of the "walking fish," it's advisable to take the words of the characters with a grain of salt. After all, one or several of them may have ulterior motives and not be entirely forthcoming in their investigations and revelations about what caused this onslaught of predatory marine life.

Gyo is a truly horrifying read, not because it reflects on past human history, but because it portrays such seemingly docile creatures as fish becoming a genuine threat to humanity as a whole. Although it's clearly a work of fiction, the story becomes more and more relevant to the "real world" as each new revelation is made known to the reader.

Both intellectually disturbing and visually unsettling, the first volume of Junji Ito's two-volume series hits the mark and leaves the reader eager to see what horrors await in the next installment.

I stumbled across Gyo at my favorite used bookstore in Salt Lake City, Ken Sanders Rare Books.

It is always an especially great experience to find weird graphic novels at used bookstores. It feels like a genuine discovery. I particularly felt this way this time because I have a deep appreciation for horror manga. However, it can actually be quite rare to come across it most of the time.

I was a big fan of the Uzumaki series, and Gyo definitely does not disappoint in comparison. I don't think I've ever read another comic that was more disgusting and creepy. It is truly of genius-level, full-on baroque horror.

Without spoiling anything, the basic premise is that horrible rotting zombie fish with terrifying skittery robot legs are emerging from the sea to attack the world. And it really only gets grosser from that starting point.

The series is a super fast read, but it is truly awesome and worth tracking down. It is highly recommended for anyone who loves really twisted, over-the-top horror manga.

4.5 ✰ el finaaaaal, shock.

The final score of 4.5 ✰ came as a complete shock. It was a result that no one had expected.

Everyone was on the edge of their seats, waiting to see how the game would end. And when the final score was announced, there was a moment of silence, followed by gasps and exclamations of surprise.

The team that had been leading for most of the game had somehow managed to lose in the final minutes. It was a heartbreaker for their fans, who had been cheering them on throughout the match.

But for the other team, it was a moment of triumph. They had come from behind and achieved an unexpected victory.

As the players left the field, there were mixed emotions. Some were celebrating, while others were left feeling disappointed and dejected.

But regardless of the outcome, it had been an exciting game, and one that would be remembered for a long time.

**Original Article**: The importance of recycling cannot be overemphasized. It helps to conserve natural resources, reduce waste, and protect the environment. Recycling also has economic benefits as it can create jobs and save energy. We should all make an effort to recycle as much as possible.

**Expanded Article**:

The importance of recycling truly cannot be overemphasized. It plays a crucial role in multiple aspects. Firstly, it significantly helps to conserve our precious natural resources. By recycling materials such as paper, plastic, and metal, we can reduce the need to extract and process new raw materials, thus preserving the Earth's finite resources.

Secondly, recycling is a key factor in reducing waste. Instead of filling up landfills with tons of garbage, recycling allows us to turn waste into useful products. This not only helps to keep our environment clean but also reduces the negative impact of waste on our ecosystems.

Moreover, recycling has significant economic benefits. It can create jobs in the recycling industry, from collecting and sorting waste to manufacturing new products from recycled materials. Additionally, recycling can save energy as it often requires less energy to process recycled materials compared to producing new ones from scratch.

In conclusion, we should all make a conscious effort to recycle as much as possible. Every little bit counts, and by working together, we can make a significant difference in protecting our environment and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come. 3.5 ⭐
