Let me begin in this manner - this truly has to be one of the most remarkable stories of my life.

A friend of mine informed me about the anime when we were still in high school, and I vividly recall how reluctant I was to embark on this journey. Yes, I admit to watching the anime first, but what can I offer in my defense? I was younger and perhaps a bit naïve. In my immediate circle of acquaintances, I remain the only one who is reading it. So, truth be told, I don't really feel that guilty.

Now, back on track. I remember how the initial few episodes passed by, and I wasn't entirely sure how to feel about it. I was told it was amazing, and thank goodness I persevered. Then, I became completely hooked. Like, truly and utterly addicted. It still stands as one of the best stories I have ever encountered. As of right now, I have watched it two or three times already, and I fully intend to re-watch it again someday. That's just how profound my love for it is.

Now, let's talk about the manga. I had planned to binge-read it during my summer vacation, but I craved some awesomeness in my life right away, so I simply couldn't wait any longer. I had to have it. Yes, I'm referring to the manga.

Guilty once more for having a slightly greater affection for the anime. But one must give credit to the amazing background music, which gives it a somewhat unfair advantage.

Once again, regarding the manga. I'm not particularly adept at writing reviews, but I promise to do my best.

The first volume consists of 6 chapters. I'll attempt to review them in order, while avoiding spoilers as much as possible.

1) Boredom

We are introduced to the first principal character - Light. He is a charming young man with a very strong sense of right and wrong. I can't deny that I'm in love with him. Moving on, we also meet Ryuk, a God of Death. I find it quite astonishing how the starting point of all this is boredom.

2) L

The second principal character. Well, with my unwavering love for Light, what can I say? He is rather dark. I'm just kidding. This is where I truly got hooked.

3) Family

Here, we gain a bit more understanding of Light's background and motivation.

4) Current

At this juncture, I have two things to mention. Firstly, Light is extremely intelligent. Secondly, I adore their dynamics.

5) Eyeballs

Wings!

6) Manipulation

I'm really trying hard not to spoil it for everyone. Trust me on this. It's amazing!

7) Target

One word - mastermind!

I'm eagerly looking forward to reading the next volume!

**A Graphic Novel**

A graphic novel is a truly captivating form of literature. It presents a masterfully thought-out story that delves deep into the complex realm of morality and the eternal struggle between right and wrong. The illustrations within a graphic novel add an extra dimension to the narrative, bringing the characters and scenes to life in a vivid and engaging way. It allows readers to immerse themselves in a world where they can explore different perspectives and grapple with the difficult questions of what is truly right and what is wrong. Whether it's a superhero tale, a historical drama, or a coming-of-age story, a graphic novel has the power to transport readers and make them think about the world around them in a new and profound way.

I've been hearing a great deal about this manga, which has also been adapted into an anime and a live-action movie now. So, I seized the opportunity when I was at Erica's cousins' place to read Volume 1.

Indeed, I can fathom the allure it holds for high school misfits. The Japanese high schooler, Light Yagami, discovers a "Death Note" that has been dropped by a Shinigami (or "death god"). He then makes the decision to utilize the powers of the note to purify the earth of evil-doers. Half of the book reads like a late-night "philosophical" discussion as Light experiments with the increasingly detailed rules that govern the use of the Note.

I suppose this was the first translated-but-not-inverted manga that I've perused, and I was astonished at how rapidly I adapted to reading from right to left. It was really neat.

This manga seems to have a unique charm that draws in readers with its interesting premise and complex characters. I'm curious to see what else Volume 1 has in store for me.

I have a deep love for anime, yet I've never delved into the manga. In my personal opinion, Deathnote stands as one of the most exquisitely crafted and utterly gripping stories that I've had the good fortune to encounter. Light Yagami is an extremely narcissistic individual with a terrifying god-complex. He is a fully developed villain who, at times, appears almost normal and charming. I constantly find myself drawn back to the beginning of his story, always wondering if the Deathnote was the catalyst that caused his traits to be fully exposed. I suspect that, regardless of the circumstances, he would have become the person he was, but I believe that the Deathnote falling into his hands simply accelerated his descent into psychopathy. The art in Deathnote is truly fantastic. The story is nothing short of amazing. The characters are highly entertaining. Although L hasn't been introduced yet, I'm intrigued to revisit one of the most captivating power struggles. Ryuk is also the absolute best. That is all.

In the world of human existence, it is an undeniable fact that there is no one who has never told a lie. No one can claim to be perfect, as everyone has succumbed to the act of lying at some point in their lives.

‎When thought, philosophy, religion, imagination, and entertainment converge in the pages of humorous magazines, and when a friend tells you that the manga within is filled with an abundance of wisdom, entertainment, and philosophy, you might be skeptical at first. However, as you delve deeper into the world of "moving pictures" that manga represents, you begin to understand its allure.
‎The concept of manga, like that of many other forms of art, varies greatly from person to person. For some, it might be associated with characters like "Marco" from popular franchises, or the beloved cartoons of Disney. Others might see it as a completely different entity altogether. At its core, manga is based on the idea of presenting a story in a humorous and engaging way through the medium of illustrations.
‎The idea of "the concept of death" in manga is truly fascinating. What sets manga and anime apart is the element of unpredictability. The sequence of events is constantly changing, and relying on the mystery and悬念 is one of the secrets to its entertaining nature.
‎The story unfolds in a world beyond the human realm, a world where the deity of death spends their quasi-immortal lives engaged only in gambling and sleeping. One of the angels of death decides to play a game with humanity by presenting the concept of death. By simply writing the name of any person, that person will die in the way desired. This is all part of a grand experiment to observe the full spectrum of entertainment and the chaos that ensues. We will explore the characters in more detail in the second part.
“In human societies, there are very few who truly trust one another.”.

This series has truly read like a supernatural Sherlock, but with a fascinating twist as it is told from Moriarity's point of view.

It offers a completely different perspective on the familiar world of Sherlock Holmes. Instead of seeing events unfold through the eyes of the brilliant detective, we are privy to Moriarity's devious thoughts and plans.

The author has done an excellent job of creating a sense of mystery and intrigue, as we try to understand Moriarity's motives and actions.

The supernatural elements add an extra layer of excitement to the story, making it a truly unique and engaging read.

Whether you are a fan of Sherlock Holmes or just enjoy a good mystery, this series is definitely worth checking out.

The characters in this story are truly incredibly smart. Their intellectual prowess is so outstanding that it is actually kind of scary.

It's as if they possess an almost superhuman level of intelligence. Their ability to analyze situations, solve complex problems, and come up with ingenious solutions is simply mind-boggling.

You can't help but wonder how they manage to be so intelligent. It makes you feel a bit inferior in comparison. Their smartness seems to set them apart from the ordinary, and it adds an element of mystery and awe to the story.

It's fascinating to observe how they use their intelligence to navigate through various challenges and obstacles. Their actions and decisions are always calculated and well thought out, leaving you in a state of admiration and sometimes even a little intimidated.

Overall, the smartness of these characters is one of the most captivating aspects of the story. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, eager to see what they will do next with their remarkable intelligence.

Update 14.01.18

I have decided to remove my previous rating from here. Initially, I wasn't a fan of this particular manga. However, I've now come to the realization that perhaps I'm not a fan of the manga genre as a whole, in general.

HOWEVER, after just finishing the entire series of Death Note in the form of an anime, I feel compelled to come to my knees and admit that I was completely WRONG. Seriously, I'm truly shaken.

This experience was just really weird. Also, no offense intended, but the graphics in the manga were quite unattractive. Now I'm wondering if I should even bother reading the next volume. Does it get any better? I really don't know, man. I'm in a bit of a dilemma. On one hand, the anime version of Death Note was so captivating that it made me question my stance on manga. But on the other hand, the less than appealing graphics of this manga are making me hesitant to continue.

I guess only time will tell if I'll give the next volume a chance or not.

I am extremely familiar with this story as I watched the movie related to it a long, long time ago. I can recall every detail vividly. Therefore, it came as no surprise to me when I ended up having a great liking for this.

I was really fond of the main characters and the moral dilemma they faced. In terms of the plot, it advanced at a really fast pace, which kept me engaged throughout and I wasn't bored even for a moment.

However, it has to be said that this story is eerie and creepy. At times, I even felt a little bit uncomfortable. So, it is definitely not suitable for those with a weak heart.

Nevertheless, I am definitly going to continue with it as I am intrigued by its mystery and the development of the story. I can't wait to see what will happen next and how the characters will deal with the challenges and dilemmas that come their way.

I believe that there is still a lot more to discover and explore in this story, and I am looking forward to uncovering all its secrets.

This was my first expedition into the world of manga and... I loved it! It helped that they explained to me how to read in the correct direction, because otherwise I would have made a mess, hehe.

I loved the story! Just like the mix of death gods and a super intelligent high school boy. Although the idea of playing at trying to be God, well, that shocked me, but the detailed traps and deceiving the police was good. I'm almost 100% sure that this is more of an anti-hero story. I mean, the protagonist is killing people to create a utopia; but he kills them and deceives himself, that's how I see it. In short, I liked the world of manga and will continue reading it.

Audrey's Cafeteria: The Lost Island

The world of manga is truly fascinating. It offers a unique blend of art and storytelling that can transport you to different universes and introduce you to a wide range of characters. In this particular manga, the concept of death gods and a brilliant high school student engaging in a dangerous game is both thrilling and thought-provoking. The detailed plots and the protagonist's actions make you question the morality and ethics of his choices. It's this kind of complexity that makes manga so engaging and keeps readers coming back for more. I can't wait to explore more of this wonderful world and discover new and exciting stories.

Definitely 4.5 stars! This is my very first manga experience, and I'm completely hooked!! It's so incredibly interesting and intriguing. There's an abundance of information that just piques your curiosity a little bit more, yet not to the extent that it overwhelms you. Ryuk is an absolutely fantastic character. I have a hunch that there's more to him than what he's currently revealing. And Light, he's extremely clever and cunning. However, I can't help but feel that this very trait might ultimately lead to his downfall. I'm eagerly anticipating picking up volume number 2. I'm sure it'll be just as exciting and engaging as the first one. I can't wait to see what adventures and twists await me in the next installment of this amazing manga series.
