This was the very first book that I had the distinct feeling of being bombarded with an overwhelming number of things all at once.

It was as if there was a chaos of information swirling around within its pages, making it extremely difficult for me to make any sense of it.

Every time I thought I was starting to understand a particular concept or thread, something else would come along and completely throw me off track.

In the end, I found myself completely lost and frustrated, not understanding a single thing.

It was a truly disheartening experience, and I couldn't help but wonder if there was something wrong with my ability to comprehend the material.

Perhaps I needed to approach it from a different angle or take more time to carefully analyze each part.

Nonetheless, this book had definitely taught me a valuable lesson about the importance of clarity and organization in writing.

Girl, I truly despise Mello.

I am afflicted with misophonia, and it's such a struggle.

Just the mere sight of photos of that guy constantly licking and chewing on chocolate bars is enough to drive me crazy.

It makes me feel this intense urge to choke someone.

Uggghhh, it's so frustrating.

Every time I come across those images, it's like a trigger for my misophonia.

The sound of him licking and chewing seems to echo in my mind, causing me great discomfort.

I wish I could just block out those images and the associated sounds.

But unfortunately, they keep popping up, and it's a never-ending battle for me.

I hope that one day, I can find a way to deal with this better and not let Mello's actions affect me so much.

L and Light were truly the best duo. Their partnership was like a force of nature, captivating and enthralling. They had a unique dynamic that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

Their story was filled with twists and turns, with each of them constantly outwitting the other. It was a battle of wits that was both intense and exciting.

I vividly remember the moments when they interacted, the tension palpable in the air. Their conversations were like a game of chess, with each move carefully calculated.

Sadly, those days are gone, and I deeply miss them. Their presence added a special charm to the story, and their absence leaves a void that is hard to fill.

I often find myself thinking about their adventures and the impact they had on me. They will always be remembered as one of the greatest duos in the history of entertainment.

I had taken a break from the series for a while, but in the 8th volume, the action-packed scenes increased significantly.

It really makes me extremely curious.

I wonder what kind of exciting plot developments and thrilling moments are waiting for me in this volume.

Maybe there will be new characters introduced, or some long-hidden secrets will be revealed.

The anticipation is building up inside me as I think about it.

I can't wait to pick up the book and immerse myself in the world of the series again.

I'm sure it's going to be a great read and will keep me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

I was truly stupid to assume that Death Note wouldn't hold any interest after 'L' passed away in Volume 7. I took a break from reading it and only resumed a couple of months after Gorab began reading. Tugami Ohba has not only made Volume 8 interesting, but it has also delved deeper into a darker territory. Killing 'L' turned out to be a bad move for Light because now, instead of one problem, he has two in the forms of Near (N) and Mellow. N closely resembles L, while Mellow is one step ahead of them all, effectively putting Kira in shackles. Surprisingly, the introduction of the new Shinigami - Sidoh - changes the game completely. Sadly, with each passing volume, Light is becoming increasingly evil and hateful. He didn't even flinch when his father's and sister's lives were in danger. It seems that the Death Note indeed has the power to alter one's mind. Another amazing volume!! I absolutely loved it.

It just isn't the same without L! Maybe it will pick up though! This one is, for the most part, pretty slow paced. There is just so much dialogue and thinking that it can even be hard to follow. Mello and Near are both good characters, but the tension that once existed between Light and L is no longer present. Misa now seems like a total joke, and the whole plot appears to be getting more and more convoluted. I bet that in the end, it'll all unravel itself nicely. However, for now, it feels like it has gone a little downhill. It's as if the story has lost some of its sparkle and excitement. The absence of L is really felt, and it's hard to imagine how it will manage to recapture the magic that was there in the earlier parts. But perhaps there are still some surprises in store that will turn things around and make it an engaging and thrilling read once again.

In "Death Note" chapter 8, Light's sister has been kidnapped. The situation is dire as they have managed to figure out who Kira is. The Death Note, that powerful and mysterious notebook, is now being used as ransom. Light finds himself in a difficult position as he needs to use the Death Note to save his family.

This story belongs to multiple genres such as manga, scifi, horror, superhero, crime mystery, political, and contemporary life. The art style of the book is distinct, with a black and white color scheme. The thin lines and minimal shading give the illustrations a unique and captivating look.

The setting of the story is also one of its highlights. It is not your typical backdrop but something that adds to the overall atmosphere and intrigue. The story and the characters are equally unique, with Light being a complex and conflicted protagonist.

The plot of the story stands out from others as it is full of twists and turns. It keeps the readers on the edge of their seats, constantly guessing what will happen next. Overall, I would highly recommend this book. It has a great story that is engaging from start to finish, and the book does an excellent job of continuing the narrative in a seamless and exciting way.

At first, it was a bit of a struggle to get into this volume. I'm still in the process of mourning L and coming to terms with the fact that he's gone. The new "L"s just don't measure up to his level. Mello, on the other hand, is definitely more interesting than Near. He's sneakier, more devious, and overall more captivating. I can even relate to his chocolate obsession.

Light is so preoccupied with these new obstacles in his path that I can see him spiraling further into insanity. This, I'm certain, will lead to numerous slip-ups in the future. Misa, on the other hand, is such a lackluster character. She was marginally more interesting before she became Light's girlfriend, but now she's constantly portrayed as dumb and naive. My biggest gripe with this series is that there isn't a single woman who holds a position of power or agency. And I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. At first, I was excited to see Mello as a new villain because I thought he was a girl! But alas, that wasn't the case.

I'm extremely curious to see what the next volume will bring and when Near, Mello, and Light will finally meet. Because I'm sure that's going to be a major event.

With the development of Near, I read the story thinking that it would not be as enjoyable as the old one, but I was wrong. The bad expectation I carried from the past has decreased to some extent for now.

When it comes to the story, within the four-year time span that has passed, there was no obstacle in front of Light that could force him. That is, it was quite normal for him to be a bit relaxed, and Near really made him look stupid. When the third Shinigami that emerged in this volume was added to the equation, things got very complicated.

Now, since the catch-me-if-you-can game is being played by four parties in the form of Kira - L - Near - Mello, each step that will be taken has a different weight for Light. This thinking process is undoubtedly the most enjoyable part of the series.

Light is cold, man, cold. Especially when it comes to the ladies.

Take Misa for example. She's so misguided and Light's treatment of her is just cruel. (Hell no did Light just speak to her like that!) She really needs to escape from that situation. And then there's his little sister Sayu. Her own brother is heartlessly considering killing her just to make his life as a brutal mass murderer easier. These are truly bad times.

All in all, the series is still good. However, that initial level of excitement and mystery is now somewhat lacking. I do like the addition of Mello and Near, but it feels as if the story has lost its focus and sense of direction. I think the time jump has played a significant role in eliminating a lot of the tension.

Kira doesn't have a very strong presence in this part. It's just L vs M vs N, and that doesn't hold as much interest for me at the moment.

Maybe this volume is more like a reset button. Once all this introducing of the new story arc is over, perhaps the next volumes will pick up the pace and bring back the excitement.

I did have a soft spot for Sidoh though. His insect-like qualities and lack of mental sharpness made him kind of endearing. Poor guy. All he wants is to get his magical murder weapon back. Is that really too much to ask?
