Unexpectedly compelling for a manga about a board game I have no clue how to play!
This manga has truly surprised me with its ability to engage and captivate despite my complete lack of knowledge about the board game it is centered around.
The story and characters are so well-developed that they draw you in and make you want to keep reading.
What I really appreciated was the fact that the basic rules of the board game were shown at the end of some of the chapters.
This was a great addition as it allowed me to have a better understanding of what was going on in the story and added an extra layer of depth to the overall experience.
Even if you have no interest in the board game itself, this manga is definitely worth checking out for its entertaining story and well-executed art.
The storyline of Hikaru's exploration and growth with GO continues, and it is truly as fascinating as the first volume. Hikaru's journey in the world of GO is filled with excitement and challenges. Each step he takes brings new discoveries and experiences that shape his character and skills. The way the story unfolds is both interesting and entertaining, keeping the readers on the edge of their seats. The detailed descriptions of the GO games and the strategies involved add an extra layer of depth to the narrative. It makes the readers feel as if they are right there with Hikaru, experiencing the thrill of the game. Overall, this continuation of Hikaru's story leaves me wanting more. I can't wait to see what new adventures and obstacles he will face in the future.
We enter the middle of the scene where Tetsuo Kaga is introduced. In fact, he is now playing Shogi instead of Go after realizing that he will never be as good as Akira. Then his ambition emerges, and together with Tsutsui and Hikaru, they sign up for the Go tournament. This volume ends with the scene when the clubmates in Akira's new school debate that they want to give him a lesson.
This time, the cover is my favorite character, Sai!!! with a serious face and his characteristic hat of the Heian era court. It is truly an amazing artwork ^^
I really can't figure out the exact reason why I have such a deep affection for this series. It's a mystery to me. But one thing is for sure, I do like it very much. Maybe it's the unique charm that each story in the series holds. The characters are so vivid and engaging that they draw me in from the very beginning. The plots are full of twists and turns, keeping me on the edge of my seat. Or perhaps it's the emotions that the series evokes in me. Sometimes I laugh out loud, and other times I find myself on the verge of tears. Whatever the reason, this series has become an important part of my life. I look forward to every new installment, eager to see what adventures and surprises await me. It's a world that I love to escape to whenever I need a break from reality.
