I truly relished this volume.

What is fascinating is that the elements which prove to be the most captivating in this are not the elements of the fantastical that are existent, but rather the characters and their interconnections.

I find Hikaru to be extremely intriguing. He is just a child, yet still manages to be so fascinating.

And his relationships with Sai, Kimihiro, Akari, and others are an absolute delight to peruse.

It gives the impression of being truly genuine and real.

These characters and their interactions add a depth and richness to the story that makes it a truly engaging read.

Their emotions, struggles, and growth are portrayed in such a vivid manner that it is easy to become invested in their lives.

Overall, this volume has left a lasting impression on me and I look forward to delving further into the story.

The first volume of this series wasted no time in propelling the story forward. I truly applaud the creators for not idling and instead, quickly captivating me and getting me interested in the game of “Go” as well as the characters.

We are also able to witness Hikaru’s growth, which is driven by his deep love for the game and his strong desire to win independently. This aspect, in and of itself, is extremely cool.

One of the highlights of this volume for me is when Akira comes to Hikaru on page 127. The art by Takeshi Obata and the story by Yumi Hotta blend together perfectly, creating a narrative that is sure to make you eager to play the game of “Go” on your own.

This first volume sets a great foundation for what is to come and leaves me excited to see how the story will unfold further.

Hikaru no Go is probably the only manga that I have actually liked.

This manga tells a story that is both engaging and inspiring. It follows the journey of a young boy named Hikaru who discovers an ancient Go board and becomes possessed by the spirit of a Go master from the past.

As Hikaru begins to play Go under the guidance of the spirit, he quickly develops a passion for the game and starts to improve his skills. Along the way, he meets many other Go players, some of whom become his friends and rivals.

The manga does an excellent job of exploring the themes of friendship, competition, and self-discovery. It also provides a fascinating look at the world of Go, a complex and strategic game that has been played in Japan for centuries.

Overall, Hikaru no Go is a must-read for anyone who enjoys manga or is interested in learning more about Go. It is a story that will keep you entertained from beginning to end and leave you with a sense of inspiration and motivation.

The first volume might have set a certain standard, and this one, while a bit weaker, is still quite decent.

It's rather interesting to note that despite the remarkable achievement of going to the moon, umbrellas seem to have remained relatively unchanged.

One would think that with such great advancements in various fields, the humble umbrella would also have seen some significant modifications.

But perhaps its basic design and functionality have proven to be so effective that there hasn't been a pressing need for major changes.

Or maybe it's because umbrellas are such a common and everyday item that we simply don't notice any gradual improvements that might have occurred over time.

Nevertheless, the fact that we can still use an umbrella today in much the same way as we did decades ago is a testament to its enduring practicality.

It makes one wonder what other seemingly ordinary things in our lives have remained relatively untouched by the passage of time and technological progress.

Volume 2 of this remarkable series truly excels in taking the rivalry that was set up so intriguingly in the first book and pushing it to its very first breaking points.

Akira, in his intense pursuit of Hikaru's ghost, finds himself deeply grappling with the profound question of what it truly means to be a child prodigy.

He is thrust into a situation where he must confront the reality of being a prodigy away from the normalcy of socialization and the comforting company of his peers.

This exploration adds a layer of depth and complexity to the story, making the readers not only invested in the rivalry but also in Akira's personal journey of self-discovery and understanding.

The author masterfully weaves this narrative, creating a captivating and engaging read that keeps the readers on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating what will happen next as the rivalry continues to unfold and Akira faces the challenges that come with being a child prodigy in isolation.

What a busy issue indeed!

Naughty Akira is up to his tricks again, stalking Hikaru all across Japan. It's quite a wild adventure.

But one of the main reasons I have such a deep love for this series is the intense rivalry that exists between these two characters.

It's truly captivating to witness how their competition drives them both to new heights.

Moreover, it's extremely fun to see Hikaru gradually develop a genuine and profound interest in the game.

As the story progresses, the character's passion for the game becomes so infectious that it spreads to the readers as well.

We can't help but get caught up in their journey and feel the excitement and determination along with them.

This series has a unique charm that keeps us hooked from start to finish.

Hikaru and Akira are starting junior high!

This is an exciting new chapter in their lives.

As they enter this new stage, they bring with them their love for Go.

In this story, we also get to learn some Go rules.

I must admit that I was mistaken about one of the rules.

It has been a while since I last studied Go, and I had forgotten some details.

But with Hikaru and Akira's adventures, I am reminded of the intricacies and beauty of the game.

Go is not just a game of strategy and skill, but also a test of patience and perseverance.

As Hikaru and Akira face new challenges and opponents, they will have to rely on their knowledge of the rules and their ability to think ahead.

I can't wait to see how their journey unfolds and how they continue to grow as Go players.

This series is surprisingly appealing.

It truly helps if one has some basic familiarity with go, and particularly how it reverberates through Japanese culture. At its core, however, it is evolving into a coming-of-age story for both Hikaru Shindo and his young rival, Akira Toya, a go prodigy whose confidence was shattered upon being defeated by Hikaru, unaware that Hikaru was actually being coached by the ghost of a thousand-year-old go master.

In volume 2, Hikaru actually commences taking an interest in go and joins his school's minuscule, underdog go club. There, he meets several other characters, including another young go prodigy who abandoned go to play shogi (Japanese chess). Hikaru also begins having to grapple with girls, as his little friend Hikari clearly has a crush on him. Regrettably, Hikaru handles her about as smoothly and maturely as any eleven-year-old boy. But it is certain that this will be an ongoing matter.

This isn't precisely a profound or brilliant manga, yet it is quite charming and the characters are captivating. Now I suppose I will have to obtain the remainder.

The second installment in this series had indeed added a significant amount to the story.

I firmly believe that there was substantial character development witnessed in both Hikaru and Akira. They both seem to be extremely determined to become strong enough to outwit and defeat the other.

This is bound to lead to a highly interesting battle, and I am quite certain that it will also foster a unique kind of friendship between them.

Moreover, with Hikaru becoming increasingly passionate and interested in Go, I envision a wonderful opportunity for him and Sai to grow closer.

Undoubtedly, this will likely have a positive impact on strengthening Hikaru's Go-playing ability.

Now, I am eagerly looking forward to delving into the next installment.
