In the previous volume of this series, I had the perception that Sai's confusion was actually reflecting the author Yumi Hotta's own confusion regarding the direction of the storyline. If this assumption holds true, then it appears that both of them have regained a sense of purpose in this volume. The ethereal Sai is presented with the opportunity to engage in a game against Toya Meijin, who is regarded as the greatest among the living go masters. This encounter provides the storyline with a much-needed focus that has been lacking in the previous few chapters. It seems as if this is a crucial turning point for both characters. However, the only lingering question is whether Hotta will be able to make this conflict truly pay off in the next volume. Will the build-up lead to a satisfying conclusion? Only time will tell. As readers, we can only eagerly anticipate the next installment to see how the story unfolds and whether the author will be able to deliver on the promise of this newfound focus and conflict.
