This highly anticipated encounter has been the talk of the town among Go enthusiasts. Sai, with his unique and intuitive playing style, has been making waves in the Go world. His ability to see patterns and make unexpected moves has earned him a reputation as a formidable opponent.

On the other hand, Toya Meijin is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience and a long list of achievements. His strategic thinking and precise calculations have made him one of the most respected players in the game.

As the two players prepare to face off, the excitement is palpable. Fans from all over the world are eagerly waiting to see who will come out on top in this battle of the titans. Rereading this volume before the latest release has been an interesting experience.

It allows me to revisit the story and characters, and notice details that I might have missed the first time around.

The plot unfolds in a way that keeps me engaged from beginning to end, with twists and turns that I didn't expect.

The writing style is also very engaging, with vivid descriptions that bring the scenes to life in my mind.

As I read, I find myself getting more and more excited for the latest release, wondering what new adventures and challenges the characters will face.

Rereading this volume has definitely whetted my appetite for more, and I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next.

Hikaru no Go has stepped into a brand-new era, that of the professional players. This volume commences with Hikaru's pro ceremony, and he discovers that his very first pro match will be against Akira. There is a truly astonishing twist. Then, in the latter half of the volume, the focus shifts to Sai as he gets the opportunity to go up against Toya Meijin, who is Akira's father. This time, there is no handicap, and both play to their absolute fullest. The build-up spans multiple chapters as their match will be held on the internet. We witness the return of characters from the internet go arc, which is a welcome sight. Sai has taken a backseat in several previous runs, so I am extremely glad that he has been the center of attention in the last two volumes.

Hikaru no Go continues to prove that it still has an abundance of story left to unfold, and the stage has been impeccably set for the storylines that are yet to come.

Not gonna lie.

I finished this volume two days ago and am already at volume 19. So, to be honest, I can't very well recall precisely what this volume was about.

However, there is one thing that I will never forget, and that is the chapters where Sai and Akiras Dad had their online match.

Oh! Sai is without a doubt my favourite character. In this volume, he was portrayed so cool yet fierce. His actions and expressions really left a deep impression on me.

I'm really eager to find the anime (if there is an anime adaptation) and rewatch this scene over and over again. I just can't get enough of it.

I'm sure that seeing it animated will bring an even more vivid and exciting experience.

I'm looking forward to it.

Yumi Hotta's "Hikaru no Go, vol. 13: First Professional Match" (ViZ, 1998) offers an engaging read.

If you find the identity of the character Hikaru is set to play against in his first professional match unexpected, that's understandable. However, what truly surprises is the turn of events that occur after Hikaru arrives at the match. This leads to an outcome that no one could have predicted. (And it's hardly a spoiler considering the title of vol. 14 is “Sai vs. Toya Koyo”.) Hotta, as is her style, takes the typical shonen manga formula of battle, gain power, battle, gain power, and so on, and adds a touch of realism. The well-drawn characters in this series undergo change and growth from one volume to the next, and this even extends to the minor characters. So far, it's been a fantastic series, worthy of four stars.

This story is like a warm bowl of comfort food for me.

I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is that keeps me coming back to reread the book and rewatch the anime.

However, my interest in Go definitely plays a significant role.

The strategic and intellectual aspects of the game are truly captivating, and seeing the characters develop their skills and passion for Go is inspiring.

I also really like that it's a generally positive story.

It shows the journey of getting good at something, the hard work, the dedication, and the moments of breakthrough and achievement.

It reminds me that with perseverance and a love for what we do, we can all make progress and reach our goals.

This story has a special place in my heart, and I'm sure it will continue to bring me joy and inspiration for many years to come.

This volume ends on a cliffhanger, and I'm so upset.

Just when I thought I was getting to the good part, it stops abruptly, leaving me on the edge of my seat.

I was really invested in the story and now I have to wait to find out what happens next.

However, on a positive note, I'm really happy for Sai that he gets to play.

He's such a talented baby boi, and I can't wait to see what he does on the field.

I'm sure he'll bring his A-game and make us all proud.

Despite the cliffhanger, I'm still looking forward to the next volume and seeing how Sai's story unfolds.

I just hope it doesn't take too long to come out!

This is a moment that has been eagerly anticipated by Go enthusiasts around the globe. Sai, with his unique playing style and deep understanding of the game, has long been a figure of great interest. This is probably the best volume I've read of the series so far.

The plot continued to unfold in a captivating manner. Some really nice and innovative ideas were brought in, which added depth and excitement to the story.

Moreover, the art in this volume has just gotten better and better. It's truly remarkable. I've never taken as long as I did with this volume to read a volume of Hikaru No Go.

The art work is extremely nice, with detailed illustrations and a great use of colors. It feels as if you're actually there, witnessing everything that's happening with your own eyes.

It really draws you into the world of the story and makes you feel like a part of it. Overall, this volume is a great addition to the series and I can't wait to read the next one.
