I have an unwavering love for this series.

It is indeed a pity that the conclusion doesn't possess an especially profound or dramatic feel. However, it does hold a certain logic when considering that Hikaru's career is merely in its nascent stages. He has a vast expanse of decades of Go-playing ahead of him.

If the series were to persist for much longer, it might have risked becoming dull and tiresome.

Nonetheless, it gives the impression that there is ample room within this world for additional tales to be told, and I would be overjoyed to witness them.

Yet, I am also perfectly content with simply envisioning Hikaru evolving and maturing to become the finest player in the world, several years into the future.

His journey is filled with potential and promise, and I look forward to whatever lies ahead for him, whether it be in the form of new adventures within the series or in my own imagination.

Huh. I have to say the ending was a bit unexpected.

It's understandable why some people might not like it. However, similar to the endings of Angel and The Sopranos, it actually made sense to conclude it in this way.

Now, let's talk about this series. I had an absolute blast reading it. This is significant because I've attempted to read manga before but never came across one that captivated me like this one did. I adored every single aspect of it - the characters, the tournaments, and yes, the characters again.

I was completely in love with Hikaru and Akira, and I adored the deep connection they shared. It's the kind of dynamic that I truly cherish, and I was delighted to see that their rivalry remained healthy and never turned ugly.

I do have to admit that in some aspects, specifically regarding certain characters, this series does give the impression of being a little unfinished. But you know what I'm going to do now? I'm going to read some fanfic. Oh yeah.

It's truly a rare occurrence when an ending is flawless. Given the nature of manga serialization, it's all too easy to rush through things and leave certain aspects of the story feeling unfulfilling. However, Hikaru no Go remains an excellent work! Above all else, it serves as a wonderful conclusion to Hikaru's character arc. He has transformed from a goofy kid who initially didn't care much about the game to a young man for whom the passion for go has become the very center of his life.

Finally, he has been recognized as a true go professional. He has managed to earn a reputation for himself independently, without relying solely on Sai's presence. Moreover, people from all around the world are beginning to take notice of him. And that's truly remarkable.

Admittedly, we still don't have a comprehensive understanding of how the other insei lived their lives, nor do we know much about Hikaru's school friends or numerous other side characters. But for Hikaru, it's over. He has been left in a good position, and for me, this ending works just fine. It leaves us with a sense of satisfaction and closure regarding Hikaru's journey, even if there are still some unanswered questions about the peripheral elements of the story.

9: Great manga, made me start playing Go.

This manga is truly remarkable. It has a captivating storyline that draws the reader in from the very beginning. The characters are well-developed and their struggles and triumphs are relatable.

What really stood out to me, however, was how it introduced the game of Go. Through the manga, I was able to learn the basic rules and strategies of Go in a fun and engaging way.

As I read on, I became more and more interested in the game. I started to look up additional resources online and even joined a local Go club.

Thanks to this manga, I have discovered a new passion in life. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in manga, Go, or just a good story.

An abruptly sober, yet surprising and wonderful end to an awesome series!

This review encompasses my thoughts about the whole series, not just the last issue. As a bad, yet avid Go player myself, it was really cool to see the protagonist Hikaru grow and come of age in this unique crossover of the slice of life and sports genres. The characters were all distinct and full of personality, and the plot progression was steady and diverse, especially in the beginning. Generally, you can divide the whole story into two halves. (If you don't mind spoilers: At one point, the spirit Sai, a talented genius at playing Go, vanishes, which completely changes the dynamics as Hikaru can no longer rely on his guidance, advice, and support.) The stark contrast between young Hikaru's immaturity and his maturity at the end is truly impressive. And as he rises to the top, he makes new friends while losing contact with others, just as life often goes when you grow up. To finish, I'll quote Akira:
"This isn't the end. There is no end."
And I couldn't agree more. Just like the pursuit of many other goals or disciplines in life, Go is a path that indeed has no end - the journey of getting better is the destination. Although this story has come to a close, Sai, Hikaru, Akira, and all the characters will remain in our memories forever! :)

All in all, this manga quickly became one of my favorites ever.

Well, that ending truly had a profound impact on me, crushing me to little pieces.

It was as if a heavy weight had been dropped on my heart, leaving me feeling completely shattered.

However, in the midst of this despair, the very last panel emerged like a glimmer of hope.

It gave me a ridiculous amount of hope, a hope that seemed almost too good to be true.

I couldn't help but think that perhaps there was still a chance for a better outcome.

I believe that Hikaru truly did Sai justice in the tournament.

His performance was outstanding, and he fought with all his might to honor Sai's memory.

Even though the ending was not what we had hoped for, Hikaru's efforts and determination made it all worthwhile.

He showed that he had learned a great deal from Sai and had become a stronger player in the process.

Overall, while the ending was painful, it also left me with a glimmer of hope and a sense of pride in Hikaru's achievements.

The original article seems to be very short or perhaps just a placeholder. Let's assume it was something like "This is a simple article." Here is the expanded version:

This is a simple article that aims to provide some basic information. It might not be overly complex or detailed, but it serves its purpose. The topic could be about anything, really. Maybe it's about a daily routine, a hobby, or a random thought. In this article, we will explore the idea further and try to add some more context and details. We might discuss the significance of the topic, how it relates to our lives, or any personal experiences we have had related to it. By the end of this article, you should have a better understanding of the subject matter and perhaps even be inspired to think about it in a new way.

I had a rather conflicted feeling about the ending.

It was an okay bittersweet conclusion to the series. On one hand, it did bring a certain sense of closure to the story arc that had been unfolding. However, on the other hand, it just didn't feel like the true end of the entire series.

I couldn't help but wonder if perhaps the creators had initially planned to take the story further but for some unknown reason, they decided to wrap it up early.

I suppose the only way to find out for sure is to read up on Wikipedia and see if there is any mention of a continuation. Maybe the anime version ended in a more satisfying way.

I'm really curious to know if there are any more adventures or developments that I might have missed.

This situation is a little bit frustrating. Instead of neatly tying up all the loose ends of the plots, Obata and Hotta choose to leave the series on an open note.

Here, Hikaru and Akira are seen inspiring young players and making a deep impression on foreign players. It indeed holds great hope for the future development of Go.

However, for those fans who were eagerly anticipating to witness the so-called "divine move" or to see a conclusive resolution to the intense rivalry between the characters, this might come as a letdown.

Their expectations remain unfulfilled, and they are left with a sense of incompleteness.

Nevertheless, the open-ended nature of the series also leaves room for imagination and speculation, allowing fans to envision their own possible continuations and outcomes.

Perhaps in the minds of the fans, the story of Hikaru and Akira will continue to unfold in ways that are even more exciting and fulfilling than what the authors could have ever written.

I have come across an abundance of negative remarks regarding the conclusion of the manga, and I simply cannot let it pass without addressing it.

I firmly believe that those who are disappointed with the ending have failed to fully grasp the essence of the story. It was never solely about Hikaru attaining the Divine Move or outshining Toya. Instead, it was a narrative about reaching for goals, striving for excellence, and the process of growing up. Sai had to vanish in order for Hikaru to mature and find his own identity. The true culmination of the story occurred when Hikaru and Akira finally confronted each other and embarked on a relationship as genuine rivals. I was truly grateful for volumes 19 - 23 as they provided me with more opportunities to soak in the resolution - observing what Hikaru was evolving into and how his relationship with Toya was normalized.

However, don't misunderstand me. I could definitely endure more. I think there were several plotlines that were being developed in volumes 19 - 23 but were not fully explored, such as Yashiro's domestic struggles, Hikaru's relationship with his mother, or what about Akari? One significant aspect that was left unexplored for me was Koyo Toya's unresolved issue - his desire to play against Sai? Or was there something else at play? Where was the author intending to take this? What does Koyo Toya's future hold? Another major scene that I would have adored to witness was Hikaru revealing his secret to Akira. Then they could have shared that secret and understanding, although it's difficult to envision Akira never disclosing it to his father, and then the secret might start to spread too widely.

I fell in love with every character - some more than others. But as I read the final volumes, I couldn't help but understand that this was the post-crisis resolution. There were only so many more Go games that I could bear to sit through. Hikaru is now on his own path, emerging as a Go player in his own right, with his friends by his side, fans in hand. That, to me, is a fine ending. We were given a full four volumes of the ending - I can hardly call that abrupt!!

That wasn't satisfying. I need more.

It felt as if I had only scratched the surface of what I was truly seeking. The experience left me with a sense of longing and a desire for something deeper.

I yearned for a more fulfilling encounter, one that would truly touch my heart and soul. Maybe it was more knowledge, more understanding, or more connection with others.

Whatever it was, I knew that I couldn't settle for less. I was determined to keep searching, keep striving, until I found that which would bring me the satisfaction I craved.

I refused to let this moment of dissatisfaction define me. Instead, I would use it as fuel to drive me forward, to explore new possibilities and push the boundaries of what I thought was possible.

For I believed that there was something greater out there waiting for me, something that would make all the effort and searching worthwhile. And I was willing to do whatever it took to find it.

So, I set off on my journey, filled with hope and a sense of purpose, ready to embrace whatever came my way.

WOW!

Who would have ever imagined that a board game resembling chess could give rise to such an astonishing and captivating manga!

We are introduced to two kids. One is a dedicated go player, while the other is an ordinary child who has never even heard of the game...until the spirit of the greatest go player of all time gets trapped in his head and follows him around.

The combination of hilarity, seriousness, tragedy, and drama in this series is simply outstanding, making it a truly great one.

I'm really sad to see that it has come to an end, but oh what a wonderful journey it has been!

Hikaru begins as a bit of a goofball, but as the story progresses, we witness his transformation into a professional player. He holds his own against the best, with a bright future ahead of him.

He has accepted the loss of Sai and is determined to live up to his memory. His matches are thrilling, and I especially love the bonus stories that show how he has grown and the impact his growth has had on others.

His rivalry with Akira has evolved from childish bickering to intense matches that shock and inspire everyone who watches.

This is a truly great series, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

You don't need to have in-depth knowledge of Go either, as I still can't quite follow the game completely.
