This is the final book in the series, and it concludes with a rather unceremonious thud.

While the ending does leave the door ajar for a potential sequel, it fails to provide any resolution to the numerous story-lines that have been developed throughout the series. This left me with a sense of longing and a desire for more.

Despite this, the volume is still an excellent one. The writing is engaging, the characters are well-developed, and the overall story is captivating.

However, I have to deduct one star for the way it ends. It feels incomplete and leaves too many loose ends.

Perhaps one day, the artistic team will decide to pick up this project again and continue the series, leading it towards a more satisfying and resolved ending.

All in all, this is a very highly recommended series, and I would encourage anyone who enjoys good literature to give it a try.

I'm really quite upset that this is the way it all ends.

It seems to me that they couldn't have anticipated it would conclude here.

This is such a feeble and disappointing way to bring things to a close, and it truly makes me extremely mad!

I really miss Sai.

His presence was always a source of something special, and now that he's not here, it feels like a big void.

I keep thinking about the good times we had together and how things could have been different if only this hadn't happened.

It's so frustrating to see everything end in such a lackluster manner.

I hope there's some way to make things better or at least find some closure that doesn't leave me feeling this way.

But for now, all I can do is hold onto the memories of Sai and try to come to terms with this unsatisfactory ending.

I think it was a diplomatic choice not to let Japan win this tournament. Additionally, from a storytelling perspective, it was a good decision. If Hikaru had won so much after only five years of playing Go, it would have been excessive. Talent goes back and forth.

However, the ending was rather... Where was the ending? After the last game, they simply stand up and leave. That's all! But we do get some funny bonus chapters. The last chapter is the epilogue, which brings the culmination we needed and holds a few hints about the future. We see young kids making Hikaru and Akira their idols, and also acknowledging each other's idol's talent after a game at a tournament. That's their life now.

And that's how it is, and we wish them well! I am extremely happy that I read this series so quickly... or rather, I am so happy that this series made me read it so quickly. It has been a long time since I was last so deeply absorbed in a manga. I was truly entertained to the point where I skipped sleep just to read one more chapter.

Think about it! All the characters do is sit at a board and place stones on it. But the way it's written and drawn, you can feel all the tension and worries of the characters, and you're so happy to see them again when they return some chapters or volumes later. I was so captivated by it, and I truly believe I will pay a visit to the town's Go club, simply out of respect for the positive impact that this manga has had on me. And maybe I'll be able to meet Sai there.

This manga series has come to a great ending.

It's a pity that there are no more installments. I really enjoy following the characters and their adventures.

The story has been so engaging that it has left me longing for more.

Now, I have a newfound interest in playing go.

The way the characters played go in the manga has inspired me to give it a try.

I'm looking forward to exploring this new hobby and seeing where it takes me.

Overall, this manga series has been a great experience, and I'm sad to see it end.

But I'm also excited to see what new adventures await me in the world of go.

At last, the final volume has arrived.

It seems like an eternity ago that I first embarked on this series. Oh, indeed it was.

I have truly enjoyed the entire journey. However, it must be said that it did tail off a bit halfway through.

Nonetheless, the finale turned out to be a bit more reflective than I had initially anticipated.

It made me look back on all the events and characters that had populated these pages.

There were moments of excitement, moments of sadness, and moments of pure joy.

As I turned the last page, I couldn't help but feel a sense of bittersweetness.

On one hand, I was sad to see the series come to an end.

On the other hand, I was glad to have experienced it all.

Overall, it has been a memorable reading experience.

I absolutely adored this series. It was truly amazing from the very beginning right through to the end.

Who could have ever imagined that a series centered around go, of all things, would turn out to be this outstanding? However, they truly succeeded in presenting the games in a manner that made them captivating to read about.

And, of course, Obata Takeshi's art is simply beautiful. It was a delight to observe his artistic evolution from the early volumes to the much more realistic style that he has continued to pursue ever since.

The combination of the engaging storylines and the stunning visuals made this series a real gem. It kept me hooked from start to finish and left me eagerly anticipating each new installment.

I would highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable read. Whether you're a fan of go or not, you're sure to be drawn in by the精彩的故事 and beautiful illustrations.

Hikaru no Go has finally come to an end. But the question remains: was it all worth the time invested? For me, the answer is a resounding yes. However, I can also understand why some might say no. The games against Korea in the final chapters didn't unfold as one might have expected. But the ending didn't feel as empty to me as it did to others. This is because the last few volumes firmly established the series as a coming-of-age story first and foremost. The "divine move" was not the ultimate goal. There are still a few loose ends, which is another aspect that the ending has been (understandably) criticized for. Nevertheless, after reading Hikaru no Go, I walk away feeling happy. I would rate this particular installment 3.5 stars, and the series overall a solid 4 stars.

This whole series was truly fantastic.

Even the worst parts were really good. I firmly believe that this might actually be my new favorite manga series of all time.

The characters were incredibly well-developed, each with their own unique personalities and traits that made them truly engaging.

The tone of the series was also excellent, creating a sense of mystery and excitement that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

The setting was equally amazing, with detailed illustrations that brought the world of the manga to life.

What really stood out to me, however, were the actual funny moments. A lot of other manga simply can't seem to capture humor effectively, but this series did it with ease.

And it wasn't just basic shounen humor either. It was clever, witty, and often had me laughing out loud.

All in all, this is an epic manga about Go (I now have a newfound love for the game) and also an epic manga about ghosts (no need to explain this further).

I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves manga or is looking for a new and exciting read.

As usual, finishing a series is bittersweet.

It was an incredible journey. Watching the characters develop was truly a joy. However, now it's all over. It feels like a little death.

The characters were like friends that I could look forward to seeing every day. And then, one day, just like Sai, they're simply gone. Unlike Sai's disappearance, I could see this end coming. I could see the pages counting down, but it's no less difficult.

I wish Sai had come back. Maybe it would have made for a worse story, but right up until the very end, I hoped for his return. I loved the ending. It was bittersweet. There was no win for Hikaru and Japan in the traditional sense, but in actuality, it was a win because they overperformed. What an amazing series! It will stay with me for a long time.

Wait, really? This is how we're ending the series?

A competition between China, Japan & Korea's youth Go teams? That's it?!

There is nothing with Akari & Hikaru's burgeoning romance.

There is nothing with any of the non-Asian competitors.

Not even a climatic battle in which Hikaru wrests the Honin'bo title from Kuwabara to honor Sai.

On the one hand, that felt tremendously disappointing. It just felt abrupt and unsatisfying.

It seems as if the story was cut short before it could reach its full potential.

On the other hand, that sound you hear is my heart breaking.

Because this is where she leaves us. It's done. Nothing more.

This series wasn't finished or completed: it was discarded.

It's a real pity that such a wonderful story had such an unfulfilling ending.

We were left with so many unanswered questions and unresolved plotlines.

But perhaps that's the nature of some stories, and we have to accept it as it is.

Still, it will always be a memorable series for me, despite its flaws.

The final volume of the series, which marks the completion of the second arc of the story, unfortunately, feels rather anticlimactic.

It seems as if the story simply ran out of steam. There is no final and comprehensive explanation regarding the so-called "divine move", and the existence of Sai remains unexplained.

Although the tournament is concluded, there are still many loose ends. It's evident that there was no clear plan regarding the Go-playing ghost, and while the attempt to make Go seem cool is there, it ultimately results in an inconsistent narrative.

I推测 that the main target audience for this was Japanese middle school kids, providing them with something to strive for, which might be why I couldn't fully relate. Hikaru's character, after all these volumes, still lacks depth.

Overall, it's a four-star series, with a good finale in some aspects but also a disappointing one. I truly wish I could discover other excellent sports series, but only time will tell.

Upon a second reading, it becomes even more apparent that the finale doesn't offer a satisfying conclusion. I believe the author painted herself into too many difficult corners.

The "divine move", the Go-playing ghost, the complex relationship with Hikaru, and the rather unsatisfying "he just gets better" progression all contribute to this feeling.

I suspect the series simply ran out of momentum too soon. It is a good story, and I'm aware that it served as a starting point for numerous people who tried Go for the first time. It's a nice series, but it could have been better, which is why I maintain a 4-star rating for the entire series and a 3-star rating for this ending.
