Yeah, the ending frankly sucked.

This is one of the best mangas I've read. The story was engaging, the characters were well-developed, and the art was amazing.

I don't know the story behind the sudden ending, but it felt like someone cut the funding of the author and it was decided to end the story a few days before the final chapter was released.

It's a real shame because the manga had so much potential. The ending felt rushed and incomplete, and it left a lot of loose ends.

I really hope that the author will have the opportunity to continue the story or at least provide some sort of closure in the future.

Overall, despite the disappointing ending, I still highly recommend this manga to anyone who enjoys good storytelling and great art.

I really liked a great deal of the stuff in the latter half of this series. There were many elements that truly engaged me and kept my interest piqued. However, when it came to the ending couple of volumes, it felt rather rushed. The pacing was too fast, and it seemed as if important storylines and character developments were not given the proper time and attention they deserved. As a result, the ending was a bit unsatisfying. It left me with a sense of incompleteness and a longing for more.

Additionally, I firmly believe that Sai should have stayed. His character added a unique and interesting dimension to the story. His presence brought a different perspective and his interactions with the other characters were both entertaining and meaningful. It was a shame to see him go, and I think the series would have been even better if he had remained a part of it.

Overall, while there were many great aspects to this series, the rushed ending and the departure of Sai were definite drawbacks that left me with a somewhat bittersweet feeling.

Sebenarnya begitu volume 18 sudah cukup baik untuk menutupnya. To be honest, since there is no Sai, it lacks a bit of excitement, hehe. However, Hotta sensei still did a great job in weaving 5 volumes of decisions regarding Hikaru's development after Sai's departure.

This is really one of the outstanding works in my opinion. Regarding the artwork, of course it is amazing. Obata sensei is so unique in presenting various characters. For the plot, it is really intense. The interesting Go competitions, the evolving storyline along with the growing characters, are maintained solidly.

It is truly a work that is worthy of being read again and again.

In conclusion, the story of "Hikaru no Go" has left a deep impression on me. The absence of Sai in the later volumes is a bit of a pity, but the development of the plot and the growth of the characters still make it a great read. The unique art style and intense plot are the highlights of this work, which makes it stand out among many manga. I highly recommend this work to all manga lovers.

A Worthy Series for Manga and Go Fans

Manga has always been a popular form of entertainment, captivating audiences with its unique art style and engaging stories. And for those who are also fans of the strategic board game Go, there is a series that combines the two in a truly remarkable way.

The original article seems a bit unclear and lacking in specific content. However, I will do my best to rewrite and expand it while maintaining the overall theme of an "unclear ending."

Life is full of uncertainties, and sometimes we find ourselves in situations with no clear end in sight. It can be both frustrating and exciting. We may strive for a definite conclusion, but often, the path ahead remains hazy. This lack of clarity can make us feel uneasy, as we long for the security of knowing what lies ahead. Yet, it is precisely in these moments that we are presented with opportunities for growth and discovery. The unknown can lead us to unexpected places and introduce us to new experiences. So, while an unclear ending may initially seem disconcerting, it also holds the potential for something wonderful and unforeseen.

We must learn to embrace the ambiguity and trust that everything will work out in the end. Maybe the true beauty of life lies not in the destination, but in the journey itself. And even if the ending remains unclear, we can take comfort in the fact that we are constantly evolving and learning. So, let us continue to move forward, one step at a time, with an open mind and a willing heart, ready to face whatever comes our way.

I wasn't precisely overjoyed with the way they wrapped it up.

I'm left with a sense of dissatisfaction due to how hasty the last volume was. It feels as if we ended right in the middle of things.

Nevertheless, it is nothing short of bittersweet to bid farewell to the characters that you've become accustomed to.

I'm grateful to have experienced this sublime manga. It's like a comfort food, a cozy night, and a determination boost all rolled into one.

Definitely, it has fueled my love for chess and interest in go!

This manga has had a profound impact on me, making me more passionate about these strategic games.

Although the ending wasn't perfect, the overall experience was still remarkable.

I'll always cherish the memories of reading this manga and the emotions it evoked.

It has truly been a wonderful journey.

Review of the complete series:

The series is captivating, even if you're not interested in the game of go. There are multiple tournaments, tension, and a sufficient variety of players to reignite interest. The rivalries and friendships among certain characters are rather successful, especially due to the fact that there is some evolution. Hikaru was an interesting character to follow, cute and disagreeable when he was little, and more balanced and likable by the end of the series. If his evolution during the series is truly welcome, the manga focuses far too much on the game of go. We end up with characters whose passion overshadows everything else, which is a bit of a problem from my point of view. I would have preferred that slices of life were present and it would also have been nice to develop Sai a little more. Apart from that, the manga was pleasant to follow and rather well drawn, but the end lacked a bit of interest.

This is the final volume of Hikaru no Go.

It is an exciting moment as Hikaru and his two friends are representing Japan in a crucial Go tournament against Korea. Hikaru is determined to play against his old enemy, the one who had previously disparaged his ghostly teacher, Sai. The question lingers: Will Hikaru emerge victorious in this highly anticipated game?

The final vignette offers a heartwarming story of two young kids who idolize Hikaru and his peers. They dream of becoming the next Go champions, inspired by the skills and passion shown by their heroes.

This has been a truly fun series, and I have been eagerly waiting for this ending for a long time. The anticipation and excitement have built up, and now it's time to see how it all concludes. Will Hikaru achieve his goal and make his teacher proud? Only time will tell.

Sheesh... this is brutal.

"I started playing Go so I could link the distant past to the future."

The reason is within me, clear as can be. And that won't change even though I lost. But I am so mad that I lost!

Hikaru no Go is truly special. It is a manga that has left a profound impact on me. Now that I have finished reading it, I cannot help but feel a sense of unease. It's as if a part of me is still in that world of Go, experiencing the emotions and challenges along with the characters.

I think it's one of my favourites for several reasons. The story is not just about the game of Go, but also about the growth and development of the characters. It shows how they face their fears, overcome their obstacles, and learn from their mistakes.

I will keep on thinking about it for a long time. The beautiful illustrations, the engaging plot, and the unforgettable characters will stay with me forever. It has inspired me to look at life from a different perspective and to pursue my own dreams with passion and determination.

This is truly a nice way to bring a series to a conclusion.

I have to admit that I do wish it could have been longer, perhaps with more details and developments. However, despite this longing for more, I find myself content with the way it ultimately ended.

The story seems to have reached a natural and satisfying conclusion, tying up loose ends and leaving a sense of closure.

Although it may not have been as extensive as I would have liked, it still managed to engage and captivate me until the very end.

I appreciate the effort that went into creating this series and the thoughtfulness that was put into its conclusion.

Overall, while I may have some initial disappointment about its length, I am ultimately happy with how it ended and will look back on this series with fondness.

A pretty solid graphic novel series indeed.

One has to admit that it takes great skill to make a reader excited about something as mundane and unfamiliar as an ancient Chinese board game. I first read it about ten years ago and liked it then. This time around, I really enjoyed it.

It does end on an open-ended note. However, I seriously doubt there was a need to outline Hikaru's entire career until his eventual triumph. As it is stated in the last few volumes, the road to success in go never ends. Hikaru still has a lot of room to grow. His rivalry with Akira will always exist, and he can't possibly win every game. So, what is there to expect? In a way, I'm glad this manga didn't give us the feeling that Hikaru and his gang are unstoppable.

The problem is that the finale didn't feel punchy enough. It was more like the end of another volume or story arc rather than a grand exit. Perhaps a short fast-forward to Hikaru as an older man, a distinguished go player like Akira's father, revealing the entire series as his reflection of the past could have been a good addition. Maybe this would also be a perfect stage for the brief return of Sai, who could visit Hikaru once again and bring a much-needed closure. Since I think there was more that could have been done for a well-rounded ending, I take away one star.
