I really liked this book!

I'm a big fan of the show, which is what led me to this book.

How can I put it? The book was both fast-paced and slow.

What I mean is that it only took me two days to read the volume, but the story seemed to progress rather quickly in some parts and then slow down in others.

Overall, I still enjoyed this book, but I think I might need to buy two volumes at a time to really get into the story.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next in the series.

I would definitely recommend this book to other fans of the show or anyone who enjoys a good adventure story.

The characters are well-developed and the plot is engaging, making it a great read for both young and old.

I can't wait to see how the story continues to unfold.

3 Stars.

A new beginning for the Joestar family in this new saga.

This new part, for me, is being a bit heavy in some points, while in others it's extremely fast. Although there's something that causes me a bit of annoyance, and I don't know if it's a spoiler, but so far nothing has been mentioned about the hamon. Maybe they'll touch on it more later, but for now it's something that was very important in previous sagas and now it's being set aside.

Jotaro seems to me to be a character, like his predecessors, who I don't like at the beginning. I know I need to see how he develops in the following volumes, but for now he's not my favorite. I know that later I might say the complete opposite.

I'm still hopeful that this new saga will bring something new and exciting, despite the initial setbacks. Maybe as I continue reading, my opinion will change and I'll come to love this new installment as much as the previous ones. Only time will tell.

Overall, it's a decent start, but there's definitely room for improvement. I'll be looking forward to seeing how the story progresses and if the characters can win me over in the end.

I have an intense love for Stardust Crusaders. It all began when I watched the anime, which completely captivated me. Since then, my desire to explore the manga has grown stronger. I have already delved into some parts of it, and I must say, it is truly outstanding. The art style is simply magnificent, adding a whole new dimension to the story. Every aspect of it, from the detailed character designs to the dynamic action scenes, is a visual treat. However, it's not all just about the aesthetics. The deaths in the story are heart-wrenching and add a layer of emotional depth. They make you realize the stakes and the sacrifices that the characters have to make. Overall, my love for Stardust Crusaders continues to grow with each passing moment, and I can't wait to see what else the manga has in store for me.

The description "Lacking in any nuance and hugely sexist" is rather harsh and one-sided. It seems to condemn something without fully exploring the possible context or underlying factors.

Perhaps there were some initial impressions that led to this conclusion, but it's important to look beyond the surface. Maybe the situation was more complex than it appeared at first glance.

It could be that there were misunderstandings or misinterpretations that contributed to the perception of lacking nuance and being sexist. Without a more in-depth analysis, it's difficult to make a fair and accurate judgment.

We should strive to approach such matters with an open mind and a willingness to understand different perspectives. This way, we can avoid making hasty and unjust accusations.

By taking the time to explore the details and context, we may discover that there is more to the story than meets the eye.

I still don't understand what it is about this franchise that makes people love it so deeply. In my opinion, it's kind of hot garbage. I mean, I can see why guys might like it. It's all about big, strong men doing crazy things for no apparent reason, while women play an extremely passive role in everything that's going on. But for some reason, it's still fun? And I really can't figure out why. It was way more enjoyable to read than to watch, perhaps because I didn't get past watching part two. I don't usually like unprovoked action, underlying misogyny at every turn, and a complete lack of substance in my media. But for some reason, I still really liked this volume, and I can't quite put my finger on why.

The manga has a stronger stench of a certain kind of 80s nerd media misogyny that I haven't smelled since I played Double Dragon or read Elf Quest. But even in Elf Quest, the female characters have more agency than in this. I really like Holly, but the author clearly has no respect for her as a character. Her bubbly tenderness and hospitality could have been interesting character strengths that contrast with the men in the narrative, but instead, they're seen as her "weakness" and used as a reason to make her passive in the way she contributes to the plot. There are a bunch of little things like this in the early parts that don't necessarily offend me personally, but the lack of power that women hold in the narratives of the early JoJo parts just becomes a constant, passing irritation that builds up with each unnecessary torn top on a damsel in distress. It's a very 80s thing, and I wonder if it will change as I move forward in the series and closer to the present day in terms of composition. I want the women I love to contribute to the epic unfolding in some meaningful way, but instead, Araki casts them aside and only uses them as victims, just like the characters do.

I mentioned Elf Quest, and this actually reminds me a lot of Elf Quest, which is kind of funny.

I don't know, this was kind of hot garbage with almost nothing going for it. Nothing happens for any real reason ever. The intergenerational conflict seems to have nothing motivating it except for Dio being hateful for no reason. Hamon seems to have been completely dropped, which is sad because it was one of the only cool things about parts 1 and 2. There's no grand social commentary going on. I can't seem to pick out any interesting themes that might be developing at all.

And yet, I really enjoyed this volume? It's so ridiculous and absurd, and nothing happens for any interesting reason, and yet I'm buying it? Maybe it's just that the art is gorgeous. Maybe it's just that it's super gay in weird ways. I really don't know because there weren't even any classic rock references in this volume. It's just silly and fun, and ironically, it moves faster than the anime and is easier to follow.

I'll keep reading, and I'm excited to see how Araki's style evolves and changes with the times and with age.
