I think I underlined almost all the book with numerous stars and arrows. It is truly a perfect book for me in this season of emotional healing and balancing.

It's going to take a while for all the concepts to soak in and become real in my life. I plan to keep it out and reference it for continued mental and spiritual digestion and application.

Perhaps the most thought-provoking chapter opened my eyes to my shame-based nature. The bad tree inside me is deeply rooted in shame, bearing the bad fruits of depression, low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence, and self-pity. This shame-based nature has cursed me all my life with a failure spirit and mediocrity, which has led to disappointments, discouragement, and despair.

Other related problems such as loneliness and isolation can also be traced back to this shame that I have never recognized or realized.

Praise God for His wonderful promises in Isaiah 54:4 and Isaiah 61:7. Only God has the power to restore, transform, and deliver me into the fullness of the woman He created me to be. I trust in His love and grace to help me overcome all the challenges and difficulties in my life and become the person He desires me to be.

Terrific so far. This is truly an outstanding experience. Every aspect of it has been remarkable. The quality is top-notch, and it has exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone without hesitation. It's one of those things that you don't want to miss out on. Whether you're looking for entertainment, education, or just something to pass the time, this is the perfect choice. I give it a 100% recommendation. You won't be disappointed. It's that good. I can't wait to see what else it has to offer in the future.

Now I see

Life is a complex and ever-evolving journey. Sometimes, we find ourselves lost in the chaos, unable to see the path ahead. But then, there are those moments when a sudden realization dawns upon us, and we say, "Now I see."

These moments of clarity can come from various sources. It could be through personal experiences, such as a difficult situation that forces us to look at things from a different perspective. Or it might be through the wisdom and guidance of others, who share their insights and help us gain a new understanding.

When we say "Now I see," it means that we have broken free from the limitations of our previous thinking. We have opened our eyes to a new truth, a new possibility. It is a moment of growth and transformation, as we are able to let go of the old and embrace the new.

So, the next time you find yourself in a state of confusion or uncertainty, remember that there is always the potential for that "Now I see" moment. Keep an open mind, be willing to learn and grow, and trust that the answers will come when the time is right.

Quite boring, but good for fast reading.

The author seems to have cognitive dissonance and it's like she wants to "inflate" her current experiences and present them as better than they are.

I'm not sure if I should believe her "sad life" before Christ. I'm not arguing that it's false, but it seems to be a device she uses to artificially create empathy.

In my opinion, for a person to accept the message of the book, they must first accept its premises, which I think are false. But leaving that aside, I don't think she has said anything new or in a better way than others.

What I did like was that she made the assertion that addictions are not "illnesses" but "sins". This is an interesting perspective that challenges the common view and makes one think. However, it also requires further exploration and discussion as the nature of addictions is complex and cannot be simply reduced to one category.

Overall, the book has its flaws, but it also has some thought-provoking ideas that can stimulate further reflection.

I truly enjoyed this book.

Joyce Meyer writes that by allowing your emotions to gain control over you, you are essentially undermining your faith. She openly shares some of her own personal experiences, which makes the content even more relatable.

Moreover, she provides several valuable principles that can assist you in getting your life and faith back on track.

I have learned from my own personal experience that depression is a normal part of life. There isn't a single pill that can miraculously "erase" that feeling. Depression is a common occurrence that can be overcome with effort.

Yes, I did take medication initially, but as time passed, I was able to gradually stop. In my case, I coped with my depression through a combination of therapy and my unwavering faith.

I wholeheartedly hope that you will take the time to read this book and come away with a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment, knowing that you have embarked on a journey of self-discovery and growth.

This book was truly amazing!

From the very beginning, it had me hooked with its captivating storyline and well-developed characters.

Each chapter brought new surprises and kept me on the edge of my seat.

However, I must say that the last chapter was the absolute best part of the book for me!

It tied up all the loose ends in a perfect way and left me with a sense of satisfaction.

The author did an outstanding job of building up the tension throughout the book and then delivering a powerful conclusion.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good read! :-)

Meh! It was okay.

I liked how the author attempted to reassure the reader with scripture.

However, I question whether she is truly certified as a therapist because some of her advice made me raise an eyebrow.

The claim that if we only rely on God and always trust him, all our emotions will be good seems overly simplistic.

As someone who has battled depression and anxiety my entire life, I wish it were that easy.

Sure, sin may introduce doubt, but it's not due to a lack of my efforts.

I can't simply brush it aside, and I don't think it's fair for her to minimize this struggle.

Many devout Christians also face difficulties.

She did make some valid points, but this book is not the ultimate solution for learning to manage my depression.

It's important to approach mental health issues with a comprehensive understanding that includes both spiritual and professional support.

While faith can provide comfort and strength, it may not be sufficient on its own to address the complex nature of mental illness.

This book is outdated.

A great deal of research has been conducted on depression since the publication of this book. Joyce repeatedly refers to depression as an "emotion," but a change is necessary.

Living Beyond Your Feelings: Controlling Emotions So They Don't Control You is a more recent book. Therefore, it is advisable to read this one instead.

The field of psychology and our understanding of mental health conditions like depression have advanced significantly over the years. What was considered an accurate portrayal or understanding in the past may no longer hold true.

By reading the newer book, readers can gain access to the latest research, insights, and practical strategies for dealing with emotions, including depression.

It is essential to stay updated with the latest knowledge in any field, especially when it comes to matters as important as mental health and well-being.

So, make the switch and explore the valuable information offered by the newer book.
