I didn't like this book.

The author seemed to make assumptions and guesses that were solely based on her own knowledge rather than truly understanding the characters and their world.

It felt as if she imposed her own views and interpretations without allowing the story to unfold naturally through the eyes and experiences of the characters.

However, it must be said that the book was well written in terms of the language and prose.

The sentences were constructed beautifully, and the descriptions were vivid and engaging.

Despite this, the fundamental flaw of the author's approach to the story prevented me from fully enjoying the book.

I found myself constantly questioning the authenticity of the characters' actions and motivations, as they seemed to be driven more by the author's preconceived notions than by their own agency.

In conclusion, while the writing itself was of a high standard, the book ultimately failed to capture my interest due to the author's misstep in relying too much on her own knowledge and not enough on the characters and their story.

This is truly one of the worst books I have ever had the misfortune to encounter.

In fact, I only bothered to skim through its various chapters for perhaps a mere 20 minutes.

That was all the time I needed to realize that it was an absolute disaster of a book.

You might have thought that Eragon, written by a 15-year-old, was bad. Well, this book reads as if it was penned by a 13-year-old nerd who simply jots down whatever pops into their brain without any coherent thought or structure.

No competent writer would dare to consider Saphira's intelligence as a "subversion".

The wisdom and love of riddles are well-known characteristics of European dragons, even in stories that primarily focus on their aggression.

Yet, this author goes on and on about Asian dragons, which have no place and very little derivation in Paolini's book.

And this is just a minuscule example of the semi-researched, brain-ramblings that you will come across throughout this book.

It is truly a disappointment and a waste of time.

The truth is that I didn't even finish reading it completely; since I got bored and was skipping the pages.

These books by the same author have had better quality, but this one seems like an essay on the themes of Eragon rather than a book to discuss about the bases of our world and how they shaped the world of Paolini.

It didn't seem interesting to me; rather, it was more like a dense concentration of information after information.

I was hoping for a more engaging and thought-provoking read, but unfortunately, this book failed to deliver. The writing style was dry and the content felt more like a lecture than a story.

Perhaps if the author had focused more on character development and plot, rather than just presenting facts and theories, the book would have been more enjoyable.

Overall, I was disappointed with this book and would not recommend it to others.

I recently made a purchase of this book with the intention of delving into Lois H. Gresh's thoughts and insights regarding the Inheritance Cycle. However, to my disappointment, the Unauthorized Guide proved to be rather misleading.

The writing within the book was indeed impeccable. It was extremely easy to follow, and the information was presented in a creative manner. Initially, when I began reading, I had expected it to focus on the first two books, namely Eragon and Eldest, and explore her perspectives on the books and the characters.

Regrettably, it quickly veered off into a different direction, becoming a book predominantly about things designed outside of Eragon. A significant portion of the content was mere speculation and often lacked a proper connection or would meander off on a tangent. Only after reminding herself of what she was writing would she return to the relevant connection.

I had a particular interest in the history of Dwarves and Elves, but the coverage of this aspect was disappointingly short. As I neared the end of the book, I found myself receiving insights into witchcraft and covens, which had very little connection to Eragon, considering that only a handful of the characters practice the magic or witchcraft she was discussing.

Nonetheless, this book could potentially be beneficial for those individuals who have a desire to know more about fantasy writing and the rich histories behind dwarves, elves, trolls, dragons, and the world of fantasy in general.

This was a hard book.

It presented numerous challenges to the reader. The language used was complex and filled with difficult vocabulary. The concepts explored within its pages were deep and required careful thought and analysis.

The storyline was not straightforward, but rather full of twists and turns that kept the reader on their toes.

It demanded a great deal of concentration and dedication to fully understand and appreciate.

However, despite its difficulties, this hard book also had its rewards. It offered new perspectives and insights that could expand one's knowledge and understanding of the world.

It was a book that made the reader think and grow, and for that, it was well worth the effort.

This book has a rather slow start. However, once I got immersed in it, the journey it took me on was simply indescribable.

To be honest, while reading this book, I gained some valuable ideas for my short stories. I had been stuck on chapter 8 for a long time, but this book provided so many details about the fantasy world and its origin.

Surprisingly, there were some things I wasn't even aware of. For example, my country is responsible for the creation of certain creatures, whether they are white or dark witches.

If you truly have a passion for fantasy, regardless of the type, be it YA, urban, or any other, and if you love books like Eragon or Eldest, then this book is an absolute must-read.

By reading it, you will gain a better understanding of those two books and all other fantasy books will seem completely different, as if your eyes have been opened for the very first time.

All the living creatures that you have read about in other books are vividly described here, along with the explanations of how they came to life in the literary works or if perhaps some of them might be real.

It's a captivating and enlightening read that every fantasy lover should not miss.
