Ha! Mom handed this book to me when we were in Hawaii. It's definitely not the sort of thing I would typically read. In fact, when it seemed to be heading towards the path of a hopeless-angst-over-a-self-inflicted-lie dilemma, I almost threw it across our hotel room. However, I needed something to read on the beach, so I gave it a chance. Surprisingly, it was entertaining enough. When it comes to romance novels (or whatever this actually is), it was pretty funny, indeed. What's more, it has a sense of genre-self-deprecation, which I believe is its saving grace. It managed to keep my attention and made my beach reading experience quite enjoyable. I'm glad I didn't give up on it after all.
