Right from the start, they commence receiving each other's mail. Since the journalist has an unlisted phone number, people seeking her end up with the preschool teacher's phone number, and she begins to receive calls from famous people and the other woman's lovers. I had expected the book to be a humorous account of the preschool teacher attending events with famous folk, attempting to pass herself off as the journalist.

The preschool teacher gets a phone call intended for the journalist from the manager of a high-class jewelry store. They have a mutual friend who is attempting to arrange a blind date. The teacher consents to meet him, pretending to be the journalist. They hit it off splendidly, and she deliberates over whether she should disclose the truth to him. Then, tragically, the journalist is murdered, and the preschool teacher and her new boyfriend find themselves drawn into the investigation.

All in all, this book managed to hold my interest, and I relished it as a delightful, light-hearted read.
