I read this when it was first published, and as with many of the biography/memoirs that I read, I found it to be very interesting.

Stern is not a character. He is a real person, and who he is in real life is consistent with the guy that you hear on the radio.

His story is engaging and full of details that give us a deeper understanding of his life and career.

The book takes us through his early years, his rise to fame, and the challenges he faced along the way.

We get to see the man behind the microphone, the person with his own set of values and beliefs.

Overall, it's a great read for anyone who is interested in Stern or in the world of radio.

It offers a unique perspective and a fascinating look into the life of a well-known personality.

I would highly recommend it to others.

Howard Stern, the well-known radio shock jock, has a polarizing effect on people. Some absolutely rave about him, while others despise him. However, I find myself in the rare category of middle-grounders.

After reading this book, I didn't have any moments where I burst out laughing, but at the same time, I never completely lost interest. It's a bit of a strange in-between feeling.

Similarly, when it comes to the clips of him that I've heard or seen, which probably total around five minutes, I'm not overcome with hero-worship. But I do understand that it requires a great deal of intelligence and talent to produce five hours of talk radio every single day.

I would rate this book 4 out of 5, but it's not for those who are easily offended. The humor in it can be quite shocking at times.

Overall, while Howard Stern may not be everyone's cup of tea, there's no denying his impact and the skill he brings to the world of radio.

I read this book on the beach over the course of a few days.

It's definitely a quick and fairly mindless read. I used to be a huge fan of Howard when he had his TV show on CBS and was on terrestrial radio in NYC.

The best parts of this book are truly contained in his upbringing and his remarkable rise to the top of the radio world. He had to fight some extremely serious battles and he absolutely refused to back down from management.

This ultimately ended up getting him fired, but it also led to an astonishing half billion dollar deal with Sirius.

It's really amazing and somewhat inspirational to see how this apparent loser manages to break all boundaries and change the face of radio forever.

However, you do have to take some of his claims with a grain of salt. He loves giving himself credit for various radio breakthroughs.

The second half of the book is Howard talking about guests and stories of the radio show once he hit it big. Sadly, these stories end up being pretty boring and the book really drags at the end.

I don't really remember the movie that was made based on this book, but my impression is that it was a lot more entertaining than the book itself.

Warning: There is nudity in the book, so be careful when reading it in public places.

I really enjoyed the movie. As a result, I decided to give the book a try. However, to my disappointment, this is yet another example of the movie being better than the book.

The book is nothing more than a random collection of bits and cartoons. It lacks the depth and coherence that the movie was able to achieve.

I found myself quickly losing interest as I flipped through the pages. There was no real story or character development to keep me engaged.

Based on my experience, I simply can't recommend this book. It fails to capture the essence and excitement of the movie, and I would suggest skipping it and just watching the film instead.

Howard's honest accounts of his upbringing, his family, and his staff always held my attention.

It was fascinating to hear him openly express his hatred for his bosses.

However, my interest waned when he delved into his thoughts on the events of that era and went on rants about the celebrities he despised.

Ironically, many of those same celebrities he loathed back then would later become guests on his show.

This made me wonder if his initial hatred was perhaps more of a publicity stunt or if he had truly changed his views over time.

Nonetheless, Howard's ability to speak his mind, whether it was about personal matters or public figures, was what made his show so captivating in the first place.

Despite my fluctuating interest, I continued to tune in, eager to hear what he would say next.

I made the decision not to rate this book. The reason being that it presented a rather strange blend of emotions. On one hand, I felt a sense of disgust for reading it, while on the other hand, I found myself laughing at what the author had written.

I read this particular book during my college days. At that time, I don't recall it being as politically incorrect as it seemed now. In fact, I almost gave up reading it several times because I simply couldn't believe how wrong most of the content was.

However, there was something that kept me going. It was the crazy flashback to the 90's that this book provided. The nostalgia factor was so strong that I continued reading strictly for that reason. It was as if the book was a time capsule, transporting me back to a different era. Despite its flaws, it had a certain charm that made it difficult to put down.

This was all the rage in the 90's, right along with Madonna's "Sex."

It was truly a phenomenon that captured the attention of many during that era.

This is actually quite an interesting account of Stern's early life and career.

It delves into the details of his journey, from the very beginning.

A good chunk of it contains highlights from his best moments on his respective shows.

These moments were not only entertaining but also had a significant impact on his popularity and success.

Reading through this account gives one a better understanding of who Stern is and how he became the influential figure he is today.

It's a fascinating look into the world of Stern and his early days in the entertainment industry.

Overall, it's an engaging and informative piece that is sure to appeal to fans of Stern and those interested in the history of the 90's entertainment scene.

Read 10 or 15 years ago, I have watched the film many times and really enjoyed it. In my opinion, it works better as a film. The story, the characters, and the overall atmosphere of the film are all very engaging. The director has done a great job of bringing the story to life on the big screen. The special effects are also very good, adding to the overall impact of the film. The actors have all given great performances, making the characters believable and likable. I would highly recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a good story and great filmmaking.

The King of All Media is the subject of a very humorous book. However, a significant portion of the book is dedicated to extolling the virtues of his wife.

Tragically, several years after the book's publication, they got divorced. As a result, the book has not fared well over time.

The initial portrayal of their relationship now seems rather ironic in light of their subsequent split.

Perhaps the author could have focused more on the King of All Media himself and his various exploits, rather than devoting so much space to his wife.

Nonetheless, the book still contains many entertaining anecdotes and insights into the life of this well-known figure.

It serves as a reminder that even the most seemingly perfect relationships can come to an end.

Overall, while the book may have its flaws, it is still an interesting read for those interested in the world of media and celebrity.

I only read (parts of it) because a friend lent it to me.

I'm one of those people who slows down to see accidents on the highway.

Actually, I'm not.

But I used to listen to and watch Stern, but have since repented and changed my ways.

Over the years, he just got more disgusting, sexual, and sensationalistic.

He actually used to be funny, but now he's just mean and misogynistic.

See the movie if you need to.

Actually, it's less offensive.

But really, there is no need.

My advice?

Look away, people.

Look away.

And just keep driving.

Don't let such negative and unappealing things distract you from your journey.

There are so many better and more positive things in life to focus on.

We should strive to surround ourselves with good and uplifting influences.

Rather than being drawn to the likes of Stern and his inappropriate content.

Let's keep our eyes on the road and our hearts open to the beauty and goodness that awaits us.

Well written for a celeb bio,

but it gets a bit narcissistic about half way through.

The story of Stern vs. NBC & the FCC is a good read.

It provides an interesting insight into the power struggles and legal battles that can occur in the media industry.

Stern's fight against the establishment is both fascinating and inspiring.

However, when it comes to his thoughts on Chevy Chase, it's a bit of a letdown.

Maybe he was just having a bad day or didn't really have much to say about the comedian.

Overall, though, the article is a worthwhile read for anyone interested in the world of celebrities and media.

It gives a unique perspective on Stern's life and career, and shows that even the biggest stars have their share of challenges and controversies.
