I grew up listening to Stern, and over the past decade, I've tuned in and out. However, getting a new car with Sirius brought me back. I had never read this book before, so I decided to give it a try.

First of all, it's quite obvious from the start that this book will contain some outdated jokes. But despite all the tasteless sexual and racial jokes, I'll be the first to admit that Stern's subject matter in the 90s actually paved the way for some progress. Where else could a kid in rural America in the 90s have heard about gay culture? Even if it was presented in a joking manner, it helped to make it less taboo.

So, having said that, if you can overlook the non-PC stuff, the rest of the book is still dated. The funniest stories in the book were either done better in the movie or are ones that Howard is still talking about nearly 30 years later. The format is also rather chaotic. When it was first published, it was probably amazing, but from a 2019 perspective, if you haven't read it by now, there's really no point.

I was rather late in hopping onto the Stern bandwagon.

Therefore, this book serves as an intriguing means to catch up on the history of how this once outcasted, underappreciated, and racy radio show host from Long Island defied the odds. He achieved millionaire status by building an empire and transforming into what some regard as a revolutionary icon, all by changing the paradigm of talk radio.

I don't intend to put him on a pedestal, yet I find his story truly worth reading.

This book might seem long given its size, but with its large font and short chapters, don't be misled.

I believe people are drawn to his point of view because he is all about being candid and getting to the heart of the matter.

One of the best aspects of the book is when he pokes fun at celebrities instead of idolizing them.

There's probably no one Howard hasn't insulted, myself included.

Undoubtedly, it takes courage to say whatever comes to one's mind, even if it's for ratings and money.

However, I do think that a lot of what he says is what others are thinking but would never dare to express, along with being interesting, controversial, and funny.

He is politically incorrect and uncouth, even before he became a multi-millionaire.

Admittedly, this can be a bit sleazy, and I have mixed feelings about his whole act.

Considering his popularity, his content must resonate with America's mindset in some way.

I read this book during my train rides to Brooklyn and often found myself suppressing laughter.

If Howard can make a feminist like me laugh, there must be something undeniably engaging about what he does.

Sometimes I wonder if he simplifies himself for his audience or if he is truly uneducated when it comes to the unapologetic stereotypical statements he makes about women, race, class, and other parts of the country.

I don't even know if I would like him as a person if I knew him, but that's beside the point.

Also, it can't be forgotten that he endured FCC censorship battles for years, fighting for free speech.

The book reveals how much he has done to open up the public forum for sexual discussion without being sanctimonious.

I feel he broke boundaries by helping to expose the taboos that are considered unspeakable and improper in our society.

We have to give him credit for that.

Admittedly, there isn't much wisdom or life lessons to be learned from these pages.

But for anyone who is a fan of the show and is looking for a fun book that is effortlessly engaging and entertaining, I say 'go ahead and read!'

I admit it wholeheartedly. I am indeed a die-hard Howard Stern fan. This remarkable man has been the source of my laughter for countless years! Many years ago, when "Private Parts" was first released, I devoured that book with great enthusiasm. Not only that, but I also eagerly watched the movie adaptation.

Recently, after moving, I stumbled upon the book once again. It was as if fate had intervened. Deciding to re-read it, I was pleasantly surprised to find that, even after all these years, it still had the power to make me laugh out loud! It was like embarking on a nostalgic journey down memory lane, allowing me to relive all those hilarious stories that Howard had shared throughout the years.

What's more, the book had taken on a new form of entertainment. After the book and movie were initially made available to the public, Howard's divorce added an extra layer of intrigue. So, having the gift of hindsight and being able to read about Howard and Allison once again was truly a joy.

The humor in the book was simply outstanding, and it was a delight to once again experience the first journey of this radio icon. It was as if time had stood still, and I was right back in the midst of all the laughter and excitement.

In 1993, I read a rather interesting book. It was a funny biography of Howard Stern. Now, I must admit that I wasn't a die-hard fan of his before picking up this book. However, as I delved into its pages, I found myself thoroughly entertained.

The author had done an excellent job of presenting Howard Stern's life in a humorous and engaging way. The stories and anecdotes shared were not only entertaining but also provided some insights into the man behind the persona.

Even if you're not a huge fan of Howard Stern, this biography is definitely worth a read. It offers a lighthearted look at his life and career, and you might just find yourself laughing out loud at some of the antics he got up to.

Overall, it was a great read that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an entertaining and enjoyable book.

Baba Booey to y'all! This strange and perhaps somewhat mysterious phrase has caught the attention of many. It's like a unique little catchphrase that has the power to make people smile or wonder. Maybe it has some hidden meaning known only to a select few. Or perhaps it's just a random combination of words that has gained popularity through its quirkiness.

Every time someone hears "Baba Booey to y'all," it can bring a sense of lightheartedness to the moment. It might be used in a friendly greeting among friends, or even as a way to add a touch of fun to a conversation.

Who knows where this phrase will go in the future? Maybe it will become an even more well-known and widely used expression. Or perhaps it will fade away into obscurity. But for now, it continues to bring a bit of laughter and entertainment to those who encounter it. Baba Booey to y'all!

I read this in library school as one of several examples of controversial books. The idea was to have a well-defined collection policy that could either include or exclude these books. It was quite an eye-opening experience.

To my great surprise, I ended up truly enjoying this particular book. Stern's work was astonishingly entertaining. It not only kept me engaged from start to finish but also made very salient points about free speech. I must admit that I'm not generally a huge Howard Stern fan. However, this book managed to change my perspective. It presented the topic of free speech in a way that was both thought-provoking and accessible.

I found myself reflecting on the importance of free speech and how it can be both a powerful tool and a source of controversy. Overall, I'm glad I read this book as it added a new dimension to my understanding of the subject.

I'm an extremely dedicated Stern fan. In fact, I have discs with archives of most of the radio shows dating back to the majority of the 90s and even some before that. However, I had never taken the time to read Howard's book.

Most of the stories in this book will be quite familiar to long-time fans. I must admit that I enjoyed Robin's autobiography a great deal more than this one. It is much better written and far more thoughtful and insightful. Nevertheless, there were numerous occasions when I found myself laughing out loud while reading Howard's hefty volume. This was especially the case when he listed some of the outrageous questions that Stuttering John hurled at big-headed celebrities.

The book does seem a bit padded at times and is probably best suited for those who have listened to the show for a long time. Howard, perhaps even unbeknownst to himself, is a satirist. He casts a wide net, puncturing pretense and slaying sacred cows. The people who don't "get" him don't bother to think beyond the statements he makes. He is the best critic of the hot air of celebrities (and sometimes, politicians) that we have. He says what we think but don't dare say ourselves. It's transgressive affrontery.

The problem was that once he broke barriers, too many less-skilled practitioners thought they could do "dirty" humor on-air with the same finesse, which led to a lot of bad radio. But Howard is not a "rebel" in the strictest sense. He does pander, compromise, and self-promote shamelessly. He cultivates his rebellious cred as much as his fans unquestioningly accept it. Howard is more complex than that. He tells the truth and lies simultaneously. The trick is understanding that, going with the flow, and having fun. -EG

I read this book mainly because I clearly remember seeing it on my mother's bookshelf when I was a kid.

It is really quite hard for me to imagine that my mother would have read this particular book.

However, as I delved into it, I found that I enjoyed it immensely.

The story within its pages took me on a journey that I never expected.

It had characters that were so vivid and a plot that was full of twists and turns.

Each chapter seemed to unfold a new and exciting adventure.

I couldn't put the book down until I had finished it.

It made me realize that sometimes, the books we come across in unexpected places can hold hidden treasures.

This book has definitely become one of my favorites, and I will cherish the experience of reading it for a long time to come.

After driving a continuous 21 hours from Miami to Philadelphia, and spending a significant portion of that time listening to Stern archives, I made the decision to give this book a go.

While I确实 find Stern to be arrogant and at times unfailingly immature, I do have a great deal of appreciation for what he accomplished in the radio industry. I also respect the honesty with which he portrays his own life to his listeners, something that is becoming increasingly rare in these times.

Regrettably, this book is garbage. It appears that Stern simply utilized it as a platform to attack anyone who had disrespected him in any manner during his rise to prominence. And although even this could have made for entertaining reading if executed in the right way, it simply fell short.

The worst aspect of it is that because it reached the #1 position on the bestseller list, Stern now regards himself as a validated author. Alas.

I really liked this one. And "Miss America" was also quite interesting. Among them, the one in which he talks about proper ass-wiping etiquette would have to be my absolute favorite.

It's such a unique and unexpected topic. I have never really thought about the proper way of doing this before. But when he presented it, it was both humorous and informative.

His description made me realize that there might actually be a correct and incorrect way to do something as seemingly simple as wiping one's ass.

It also made me laugh out loud, which is always a plus. I can't wait to share this with my friends and see their reactions.

Overall, I found this particular piece to be very entertaining and engaging.

I think it's easy to forget just how outrageous Howard was in his younger days, before everyone seemed to be trying to outdo each other with their outrageous behavior.

Howard was truly a revolutionary on the radio. He had a unique style and approach that set him apart from the rest.

His shows were filled with controversial topics, bold statements, and a willingness to push the boundaries of what was considered acceptable.

People tuned in to hear his unfiltered opinions and to be entertained by his larger-than-life personality.

Howard's influence on the radio industry cannot be overstated. He paved the way for a new generation of shock jocks and talk show hosts.

Even today, his legacy lives on, and many still look back on his early days with a sense of nostalgia and admiration.

We should all take a moment to remind ourselves of just how revolutionary Howard was and how he changed the face of radio forever.

I would not consider myself a die-hard Howard Stern fan. However, I came across this book at a thrift shop for a mere 25 cents. I thought to myself, "What the heck! Let's give it a try."

Now, was it the absolute best book I've ever read? The answer is no. But was it interesting? For sure it was. It managed to capture my attention and keep me engaged from start to finish.

Moreover, did it provide some valuable insights into the life and mind of the famous shock jock, Howard Stern? Definitely. It offered a peek into his world, his experiences, and the factors that have contributed to his success and notoriety.

Overall, while it may not be a literary masterpiece, this book was well worth the quarter I spent on it. It gave me a new perspective on Howard Stern and entertained me along the way.
