Yuki's mother sounds more Chinese American than Japanese American.

This statement is rather inaccurate and reveals the authors' ignorance. Just because someone may have certain speech patterns or cultural influences that seem to deviate from the traditional stereotype of a Japanese American does not mean they are not truly Japanese American. Cultural identity is complex and multifaceted, and individuals can be influenced by a variety of factors, including their environment, upbringing, and personal experiences.

It is important to avoid making assumptions based on limited knowledge or preconceived notions. Instead, we should strive to understand and appreciate the unique individuality of each person and respect their diverse cultural backgrounds. By doing so, we can break down the barriers of ignorance and promote a more inclusive and harmonious society.

Yuki's mother may have her own reasons for sounding the way she does, and it is not for us to judge or label her based on our own narrow definitions of what it means to be Japanese American or Chinese American. We should embrace the richness and diversity of all cultures and celebrate the individuality of each person within them.

I hadn't read a Patterson in a while when I picked this up. Immediately, it brought back all of the reasons that I like his books.

After a bit of a let-down for me with 4th of July, the Women's Murder Club is back in fine form. Patterson's characters are all likeable and easy to root for. The writing style is what I would call very comfortable. It's not overly complex or difficult to understand. The storyline moves along at the usual Patterson frenetic pace. Once I start, I usually don't want to put one of his books down, and The 5th Horseman is no exception.

I read a lot over lunch at work. Another caveat of reading his novels is that the chapters are usually short. This makes it always easy to find a place to stop, even if you REALLY don't want to!

Anyway, I guess this isn't a review for The 5th Horseman exactly. It's more of a review of James Patterson novels in general. He writes books that are incredibly fun and engaging to read. I would highly recommend picking one up! If you can start at the beginning of one of his series, that would be best. But another caveat of his writing is that he does a great job of filling the reader in on what's going on. So even if you pick up a series in the middle, you're still okay. You'll be able to follow along and enjoy the story.

The master has done it again. However, it seems a bit far-fetched. The fifth one, well, you really have to use your imagination because who knows what the first four are. Let me share with you some interesting information.

"What were the names of the four horsemen?"

The Book of Revelations in the New Testament lists the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as conquest, war, famine, and death. On the other hand, in the Old Testament's Book of Ezekiel, they are sword, famine, wild beasts, and pestilence or plague.

The fifth? Well, there are no spoilers here. Just check it out for yourself, and you will not be disappointed. It could be something truly unexpected and fascinating that will expand your understanding and imagination. So, don't hesitate to explore and discover what lies behind this mysterious fifth horseman.

Wow, I'm completely exhausted! I didn't even remember that I had already read this a couple of months ago. I'm really pooped because it's so full and the pace is so fast. It truly blows me away how quickly it goes. It's quite embarrassing that I don't remember reading it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it the second time around.

I'm slowly making my way through this series. I haven't read them in order, but I'm gradually filling in the gaps. These books can stand alone, so it's not a huge deal if you can't find one.

This is another very good audio book by Maxine Paetro (published under James Patterson). Narrated by Caroline McCormick, who did a fantastic job as always.

As Lieutenant Lindsey Boxer leads an investigation into a string of mysterious patient deaths, her friends - head ME Clair Washburn, Attorney Yuki Castellano, and top journalist for the San Francisco Chronicle, Cindy Tomas - do their best to hunt down a faceless, merciless killer.

At the same time, an explosive court battle erupts between the hospital's esteemed medical staff and the many citizens of San Francisco who have lost loved ones. These patients were given the wrong medications, which ultimately led to their deaths.

In both cases, the hospital administration is determined to protect its reputation at all costs. I have no personal knowledge of such a situation, but I do think it's fair to say that it does occur. The extent to which it happens in this novel is something that I'd really rather not even attempt to imagine. Could it happen? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, both situations are terrifying and will definitely make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

The basis of this book, regarding poor patient care, medical errors, and especially the medication errors, even with the so-called 'foolproof' medication dispensing machines that require a pass code to access, is in fact, VERY, VERY REAL! But as we all know, nothing is truly foolproof.

Overall, this was a great book. It's filled with suspense, the pace is rapid, and the ending is really good. Lindsey and her friends will no doubt be up to their necks in trouble again in the sixth installment of the series, The 6th Target. And I can't wait! I have no hesitation in recommending this book.

This book was truly distressing.

The so-called "b plot" regarding medical malpractice was extremely unnerving. It made me experience a great deal of anxiety and a sense of being unsafe. I really had a hard time getting through certain parts of the trial where the victim's family members detailed what had occurred.

For me, the major problem was the disjointed nature of the two plots. I had anticipated that they would converge, but after Lindsey successfully caught the perpetrators of the hooker murders, the book completely shifted to the second plot and never returned. By the end, I had actually forgotten that there was an entirely different set of murders that had been solved within the same book.

Moreover, there was not enough of Claire. She seemed to be an important character, but her presence was rather limited, which was a disappointment.

Overall, while the book had its moments, the disjointed plots and the lack of a more prominent Claire detracted from the overall reading experience.

A new installment of the Women Against Crime Club has been released, with Lieutenant Boxer at the helm. Just like the previous installments, it is very entertaining. The chapters are extremely short and the narrative is very simple, which makes it a very quick read. As always, it is full of surprises.

The story follows the adventures of the Women Against Crime Club as they work to solve various crimes and mysteries. Lieutenant Boxer, a tough and determined police officer, leads the club with her intelligence and courage. Along the way, they encounter a variety of interesting characters and face many challenges.

Despite the simplicity of the narrative, the story is engaging and keeps the reader hooked from beginning to end. The short chapters make it easy to pick up and put down, making it a great choice for those who don't have a lot of time to read. Overall, this is a great addition to the Women Against Crime Club series and is sure to please fans of the genre.

Old reviews seem to have vanished into thin air. It's really quite baffling how the save function doesn't seem to be working properly.

This is a great series, without a doubt. I have a particular fondness for the Women's Murder Club. The storylines are engaging, the characters are well-developed, and it keeps me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

I hope that the issue with the missing reviews and the non-functioning save feature can be resolved soon. It's rather frustrating to lose those old reviews that I may have spent a lot of time writing.

Despite this setback, I will continue to enjoy the Women's Murder Club and look forward to any new installments or developments in the series.

This particular installment of the series was rather interesting.

Surprisingly, many members of the Women's Murder Club were absent.

Yuki Castellano steps in to fill the void left by a member who met an untimely end in a previous novel. I found her character quite engaging initially, but unfortunately, her depth seemed to wane in the second half of the novel. Perhaps this was a deliberate choice, considering the personal issues she was dealing with in her life.

The book features not one, but two serial killer cases. The first case is resolved relatively early on, and then the story takes a turn and focuses on the events that unfold at a mega-hospital.

The malpractice trial was a captivating aspect of the plot. I particularly enjoyed the ongoing trial with the testimony of a doctor who was also a murder suspect from the detective's perspective. Additionally, the way several of the cases gradually unfolded was quite engaging.

The hospital scenes were some of the best parts of the book, with the drama and tension building up as Lindsay frantically searched for any potential leads. I also found the fallout from the airplane scene with Joe to be ironically hilarious.

However, I did find myself missing the personalities of a couple of other club members.

The ending added an extra layer of mystery with an additional murder element, but it was quickly wrapped up after that.

Overall, this is a series that is easy to get hooked on and keep reading.

I would rate this book 4 stars.

Lindsay Boxer is once again on the hunt for a culprit. This time, the situation is particularly chilling. Someone is targeting ER patients at a well-known hospital and leaving a rather mysterious calling card - two gold coins on the victims' eyes.

What makes this case even more baffling is that there appears to be no discernible pattern among the victims. Meanwhile, a major malpractice trial is underway, with the hospital being sued. A doctor has come under suspicion as many of the victims were his patients.

The plaintiffs manage to win their case, but unfortunately, this does not put an end to the killings. Lindsay is now facing a dead end as she is running out of leads. However, you will be truly surprised when the identity of the real killer is finally revealed. It's a twist that no one could have anticipated, adding yet another layer of excitement and mystery to this already thrilling story.

Stay tuned to find out who the real culprit is and how Lindsay Boxer manages to solve this complex and terrifying case.

Probably, this one is the best in the series up to now.

I have a feeling that now that we "know" the characters, I no longer feel so awkward and stereotyped. Instead, I can simply enjoy the mystery and the thrill it brings.

I am liking this series more and more, and I have a strong desire to continue reading it.

Particularly, I enjoyed this case more than most of James Patterson's novels that I have read so far.

It's a really good read!

Overall, this installment has managed to capture my attention and keep me engaged from start to finish. The development of the characters and the complexity of the mystery make it a standout in the series. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next and how the story will unfold.

I would highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good mystery with well-developed characters and a thrilling plot.

This book is truly a page turner!

Once you start reading it, it's almost impossible to put it down. The story is so engaging and full of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

The characters are well-developed and you can't help but become invested in their lives and fates. The author's writing style is vivid and descriptive, painting a clear picture in your mind of the scenes and events that are taking place.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read. It definitely deserves a rating of 4 1/2 stars out of 5. It's a book that you'll want to read again and again, and it will stay with you long after you've finished the last page.

This is a Mystery/Thriller, and it holds the distinction of being the 5th book in the Women's Murder Club series.

I must admit that this particular installment is not my absolute favorite within the series. However, it still manages to present an okay mystery.

I did find certain parts of the book to be quite enjoyable. There were moments that kept me on the edge of my seat, eager to uncover the truth.

Nevertheless, I have to be honest and say that some portions of it were rather boring. The pacing of the story felt a bit uneven at times.

The characters, while they had their moments, seemed a bit short in their development. They didn't quite have the depth that I have come to expect from this series.

Overall, it was an average read. It had its亮点, but also its不足之处. If you're a die-hard fan of the Women's Murder Club series, you may still enjoy it. But for those looking for a truly outstanding mystery/thriller, this one might not quite hit the mark.
