Who is the 5th horseman?

The very name immediately evokes thoughts of the Apocalypse, and the drama within this book nearly lives up to that lofty promise.

Two vastly different cases are weighing heavily on the minds of the Women's Murder Club.

In one case, girls are enticed to escort gigs only to be strangled, dressed in designer clothes, and posed in luxury vehicles.

The other case has a personal impact on Yuki, as the deaths occur inside hospital rooms and the victims are marked with Caduceus buttons on their closed eyes.

This book takes the reader on a wild ride all over the city, from hotels to hospitals, courtrooms to car shows.

It is truly a thrilling adventure, and I eagerly anticipate the 6th book in this captivating series.

WMC#5

Wow! I just finished reading another truly excellent book from Patterson. I have to say that the ending was a complete surprise. It really kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last page. Just like the other books in this series, I highly recommend it to all book lovers out there. The story was engaging, the characters were well-developed, and the plot was full of twists and turns. Patterson has once again proven himself to be a master storyteller. Whether you're a fan of mystery, thriller, or just a good read in general, this book is definitely worth checking out. So don't hesitate, go and pick up a copy today!

The 5th book in the WMC series might just be the best one up to this point.

The story is composed of 3 main story lines. The first two are intertwined. A young lawyer has entered into an unholy alliance with an ER doctor to establish a fraud ring. Somehow, the patients' medicines are being mixed up, resulting in fatal outcomes in what would seemingly be nonfatal medical situations, like a broken arm. As a consequence, the hospital is named as a defendant in a major malpractice suit filed on behalf of the victim's families.

Adding to the mystery is the enigmatic Night Walker, a nurse who is administering lethal dosages of medicine and then placing buttons in the victim's eyes. This by itself is creepy enough. However, reading the novel during the covid-19 outbreak makes it seem almost surreal. Nurses and doctors typically spend every working hour dedicated to saving lives, so having them as villains feels unnatural.

Then there is the 3rd storyline involving two guys, discovered in part due to Claire's brilliance and diligence. They are luring young escorts to hotel rooms. There, the young ladies are drugged and suffocated. The victims are then dressed in expensive clothes and staged in sports cars.

Overall, I give this one a solid 4/5. It keeps you on the edge of your seat with its complex and engaging storylines.
