Stefanovich is an extremely honest police officer in New York. He is a type of the "old school", respecting the rules and knowing how to listen to those who come to him for the most disparate cases. But his hunt for a terrible gangster and drug lord will change his life forever.

From then on, the only thing that will keep him going will be the desire for revenge; he no longer has anything to lose. And when on his path he will cross a journalist, who has collected a lot of material precisely on the same trafficker, John Stefanovich, will have one more ally to count on.

Patterson, as often happens, writes really well. I continue to be amazed by the myriad of topics that he manages to touch on with his books. One of my absolute favorites, which managed to move me, was "The Diary of Suzanne". Patterson maintains a relentless pace, and the plot flows so well that the book will be over in a flash. Moreover, being a police thriller where action and suspense are never lacking, the pace of the plot is really a great support to the whole story. His characters are sketched with just a few but clear strokes, and they strike us for their realism, as if they were right beside us. Truly recommended to all lovers of the genre.

For years, I have been hearing about the wonderful books of James Patterson. I have also watched a couple of movies based on his books, such as "Along Came A Spider" and "Kiss the Girls", which were truly amazing. However, at the moment, I wanted to start with one of his stand-alone books instead of getting involved in yet another series. (The Alex Cross books are on my TBR list, perhaps after I finish the Bosch Universe).

This manuscript began with a literal bang. The main character, John Stefanovitch, an NYPD Lieutenant, gets shot by the antagonist. The opening chapter shows John as part of a task force assigned to take down "The Grave Dancer".

The story is full of twists and turns. Some of them are believable if you believe in the possibility of a Criminal Cabal with its fingers in the underworld around the globe.

One issue I had was that after Stefanovitch is shot, he doesn't take disability but continues to be a police detective. It took a little effort on my part to suspend belief in this. However, although the detective is physically impaired, he is still able to investigate and use his mind and connections. This plot device was ahead of its time as it shows that the physically disabled can still contribute to society.

I really liked that although this is not a romance or a subgenre of romance, there is a romantic element in the storyline.

Recommend? If you like your police procedurals intense, your characters well-developed, and your criminals truly evil, this book is for you!

This book was extremely fluffy. To be honest, it's just like any other action cop movie that I'm usually forced to watch, haha.

I can't say I hate it as I did read through to the end. It's an easy read that doesn't require a lot of deep thinking. If you're looking for something to pass the time and you're not overly concerned about fancy writing, then this one might be for you.

However, it has made me question whether I will read any more Patterson books. To be honest, I'm not sure. Although I'll most likely still take a shot at 'Odd Thomas'. I'm curious to see if it will be any different from this one. Maybe it will have a more engaging plot or better character development. Only time will tell.

I don't know why I had never read this book before.

The plot line was truly interesting, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The lead character, John Stefanovich, was a fascinating study. He was a cop who defied the norm, being a wheelchair-bound detective.

His handicap added an extra dimension that made the reading experience even more enjoyable.

I constantly found myself asking little questions about how he managed to get around when his partner wasn't there and there was no handicap access to buildings and such.

This aspect kept the story engaging.

I don't know if Stef appears in any other books, but I would love to read about how he is getting along.

After being seriously wounded and his wife murdered on the same night of a botched operation, he battles to regain his health and remain a cop, albeit a wheelchair-bound one.

He and his partner are on the pursuit of the killer(s) of top crime bosses from around the world.

His supposed nemesis and the murderer of his wife is presumed dead after a hit, but this turns out to be untrue, and the two go after each other.

Stef also tries to uncover who heads the gang/group known as the Midnight Club.

This was an excellent read, and I highly recommend it.

Great.

Every single book that I read embarks me on a brand-new journey. It's like opening a door to a whole new world where I get to learn about various cities, their unique cultures and landscapes. I also get an in-depth look at different businesses, how they operate and thrive in their respective industries. And most importantly, I get to know about the people who inhabit these places, their stories, their dreams, and their struggles. This particular book that I just finished was truly awesome. It had me hooked from the very first page and took me on an adventure that I will never forget. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Patterson for writing such an amazing piece of work. I am already looking forward to our next journey together through the pages of another wonderful book.

The Midnight Club (1989) by James Patterson is an incredibly page-turning and interesting novel.

As a writer, Patterson has a unique talent for drawing readers in and getting them completely hooked on his stories. This book is no exception. It has a fast pace and is filled with non-stop action.

The protagonist of this story is Detective John Stefanovitch. His task is to uncover the secrets of the mysterious Midnight Club and find out about their leader. With a diverse cast of characters who provide the suspect list, this book makes for an excellent read.

Some people may say that this isn't one of Patterson's best works, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the brilliant twists and turns, the overall mystery, and getting a glimpse into Stefanovitch's personal and working life.

Stefanovitch is wheelchair-bound after being shot by the Grave Dancer on the night his wife was killed. After years of rehabilitation, he is more determined than ever to catch the Grave Dancer, who is now part of the Midnight Club. I appreciate that Patterson included a disabled detective in this story, as it is not something that is done often enough. It shows that disability does not prevent someone from achieving great things.

Interestingly, the Twin Towers are also mentioned in this book, which sent a shiver down my spine when I read it, knowing what happened in 2001.

I found this novel to be an intriguing read. I was completely hooked and couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. I also loved that it was longer than many of Patterson's other novels, giving me more excellent reading material. In my opinion, James Patterson is an amazing writer, and every one of his books is filled with interest and excellent writing. I highly recommend The Midnight Club.

James Patterson is truly a master when it comes to fulfilling my summer reading cravings.

His books are a whirlwind of excitement, with fast-paced plots that are jam-packed with thrilling crimes and the intense battles between good guy cops and psychopathic criminal figures. The twists and turns are so unexpected that they keep you completely hooked, unable to put the book down as you feverishly turn those pages.

What I adore most about Patterson's works is the way he weaves a love story into the midst of the grisly crimes. I've been indulging in his books every summer since I was around 14, and I have no intention of stopping. After a year of reading students' work, reading with my students, delving into research on education, and choosing books for myself, my brain craves something easy, exciting, and yet with an element of unpredictability within predictability. And that's precisely what "The Midnight Club" delivered, meeting all my expectations for my traditional summer reading.

There was a deranged, bloodthirsty crime boss who held sway over the world's criminal organizations, locked in a fierce struggle with the hearty, noble detective protagonist. The love affair between the crime writer and the detective, both in need of love, was beautiful and added a touch of tenderness to an otherwise brutal story.

If you've never experienced the genius of James Patterson and have a penchant for getting lost in the minds of criminals and detectives, I wholeheartedly recommend giving his books a try. I like to think of his novels as my guilty pleasure, but in reality, they're not trashy at all. They're simply quick, great reads that are guaranteed to keep you entertained.

"Novel just for wheelchair racing please James"

This short sentence seems to convey a specific request. It might be that someone named James is being asked to create a novel that focuses solely on the exciting and unique world of wheelchair racing.

Wheelchair racing is a remarkable sport that showcases the strength, determination, and skill of its participants. A novel centered around this theme could explore the lives of wheelchair racers, their training regimens, the challenges they face both on and off the track, and the friendships and rivalries that develop within the racing community.

Such a novel could also provide insights into the technological advancements in wheelchair design and the impact they have on the sport. It might delve into the emotional and psychological aspects of wheelchair racing, such as the sense of achievement, the drive to overcome obstacles, and the pursuit of excellence.

By creating a novel just for wheelchair racing, James has the opportunity to bring this fascinating sport to life and share its story with a wider audience.

A bit disjointed but good.

Nobody truly knows the seedy underbelly of the city like New York cop John Stefanovitch. He has set his sights on Alexandre St-Germain, the most influential member of the Midnight Club. This is a secret international society composed of ruthless crime czars, who, on the surface, are all seemingly'respectable' businessmen.

And Stef appears to be the ideal man for this perilous job. However, his world is shattered when he is brutally hit by a blast from St-Germain's shotgun and left for dead. But Stef is not one to give up easily. Now, wheelchair-bound, he is more determined than ever to seek revenge and destroy St-Germain.

With the assistance of a beautiful journalist and a Harlem cop, Stef embarks on a dangerous mission to crack the Midnight Club. He is facing odds that are not only unknown but also extremely deadly. The road ahead is filled with countless challenges and uncertainties, but Stef is ready to do whatever it takes to bring down the powerful and elusive St-Germain and expose the secrets of the Midnight Club.

Gory, gruesome and grotesque as usual. I'm beginning to understand James Patterson's style now. His writing is filled with vivid and detailed descriptions that can make your blood run cold. The scenes he描绘 are often so vivid that you can almost see them playing out in front of your eyes. It's both terrifying and captivating at the same time.

I loved the "winning the race" moment. It was a thrilling and exciting part of the story. The anticipation leading up to it had me on the edge of my seat. And when the moment finally arrived, it was everything I had hoped for and more. It was a moment of triumph and celebration, and it made me feel like I was right there with the characters, experiencing their joy and excitement.

Overall, I'm really enjoying this book. It's not for the faint of heart, but if you're a fan of horror and mystery, then I highly recommend it. James Patterson is a master of his craft, and he knows how to keep his readers engaged from beginning to end.

There is only one thing that can be said. Ho-hum Patterson has unfortunately become the fast food of mystery writers. I have decided to give up on him and his works, whether they are written by ghost writers or not, from this point forward. Perhaps, if he were to write a book completely on his own, it might be worth giving it a try. However, there are so many other new and old authors out there who are far more deserving of my time.

I used to eagerly anticipate his next release, but now I couldn't care less. It's truly a sad state of affairs. It seems that Patterson's once-engaging writing has lost its charm and originality. There are countless other mystery writers who are able to captivate readers with their unique storytelling and well-developed characters. I would rather invest my time in exploring their works and discovering new literary gems.

While I thoroughly enjoyed reading "The Midnight Club" for pure entertainment purposes, there were indeed a couple of aspects that made me pause and wonder.

A significant point for me was the protagonist, John Stefanovitch. He is wheelchair bound, which is an important part of his character. However, throughout the story, he seems to enter and exit buildings with relative ease. It could be argued that perhaps all the buildings in the narrative are designed to be fully accessible. But still, this aspect did make me question the authenticity of the portrayal.

Nonetheless, despite this minor quibble, I have to admit that "The Midnight Club" was one of Patterson's better books, at least among those that I have read recently. Patterson has a knack for creating engaging stories and well-developed characters, and this book was no exception. The plot was filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat, and I found myself eagerly turning the pages to see what would happen next.

Overall, I would recommend "The Midnight Club" to anyone looking for an entertaining read that combines mystery, suspense, and a touch of the supernatural. While it may not be a perfect book, it certainly has its strengths and is well worth checking out.
