This is perhaps the oddest book I've come across written by James Patterson.

It is extremely disjointed and rather bizarre. Amateur photographer Kristin Burns is having an affair with a married man, and truly strange events are unfolding around her.

People on the street are addressing her by name and uttering strange remarks. She constantly wakes up screaming from a bizarre and recurring dream.

She witnesses her deceased father and several other known dead individuals walking and conversing around Manhattan.

And now, her photographs exhibit strange anomalies.

Nothing seems to be connected, and the story really lacks a smooth flow.

It's almost as if the two authors penned each chapter independently and then haphazardly threw them all together without much thought or consideration for cohesion.

Overall, it makes for a rather confusing and unsatisfactory reading experience.

I don't assign a lower rating to this book simply because, despite finding it annoying at times, it managed to hold my interest, and I was eager to discover the conclusion of the story and attempt to make sense of it! However, I didn't achieve a 100% understanding.

I truly doubt that Patterson contributed much to this book. I can't fathom why he attaches his name to so many works when a significant number of them have been subpar lately! We're all familiar with one of his trademarks, the short chapters. But there has to be some logic to it. It shouldn't end with a suspenseful tone in absolutely un-suspenseful sentences. It became quite exasperating.

The story is extremely peculiar, and I don't believe the author fully explained everything at the ending. The final pages bordered on the surreal. It left me with a sense of dissatisfaction and a feeling that there were loose ends that remained unresolved. I expected more from a book that had initially piqued my curiosity.

It was an extremely awkward experience and left a great deal to be desired.

I must admit that it did manage to keep you in a state of suspense, but only because you're constantly trying to figure out what on earth is going on.

Even after finishing the book, I still have no clear understanding of what's happening.

If the ending had done a better job of tying up loose ends, I might have given it three stars, but no more.

It just felt like both I and the protagonist had wasted our time with this novel.

I'm a big fan of JP, but this book...eh.

Perhaps he should consider stopping his collaboration with Roughan because while "Honeymoon" was a bit slow and had some strange moments, it was far better than this book, which definitely wasn't worth the read.

So bad it was funny.

This simple phrase holds a world of meaning. It describes a situation or thing that is so terrible in its execution or quality that it somehow becomes comical.

It's that moment when you witness a performance that goes horribly wrong, yet instead of feeling disappointment or frustration, you can't help but laugh.

Maybe it's a play where the actors forget their lines, or a sports team that makes a series of ridiculous mistakes.

The beauty of something being "so bad it's funny" is that it takes the sting out of failure.

It allows us to find humor in the midst of chaos and reminds us not to take life too seriously.

Sometimes, the worst things can turn out to be the most memorable and entertaining.

So, the next time you encounter something that is so bad it's funny, embrace it and enjoy the laughter.

Kristin Burns is a charming and attractive young babysitter. However, her role as a caretaker takes an unexpected turn when she falls deeply in love with her boss. She becomes so desperate to be with him that she dreams of replacing his wife. Kristin believes that Michael and the kids adore her, and she views the stiff and uninteresting Penley as someone who doesn't care much about the family. In her mind, it seems like a natural progression for her to take over.

Michael, on the other hand, also takes risks by calling Kristin and showering her with expensive gifts. The kids love her, and Penley remains clueless. This becomes Kristin's daily routine until one fateful day on her way to work. In front of a famous hotel, she stumbles upon a tragic scene. The sight of the body bags and the disturbing images burn into her mind. The only thing she can focus on is her camera, so she takes some pictures.
Later, when her film is developed, something seems off. She notices strange transparencies on some of the pictures, and when she sees her dead father on the street, she begins to worry that she is losing her mind. Is there a plot to drive her crazy? Has Penley discovered their secret and hired people to scare her? Or is there something more sinister going on?
Kristin's life starts to spiral out of control. She wakes up screaming from nightmares that make her blood run cold, and people around her begin to act strangely. The once peaceful and sunny days are now overshadowed by a creepy detective who is stalking her, and deceased people seem to be coming back into her life. Something is definitely wrong, and things are only getting worse. She must figure out the truth before she loses her sanity completely.
Adding to her troubles, Kristin starts to wonder if Michael is really ready to leave his rich wife. After all, her father has been helping him with his work. The story is a wild ride, full of twists and turns that keep the reader on the edge of their seat. It's both good and bad, like a car crash that you can't look away from. The intensity can be a bit overwhelming at times, but it also makes the book impossible to put down. I found myself glued to the pages, desperate to know how the young babysitter would get out of the mess she had created.
The setting in New York adds an extra layer of authenticity to the story. It's always nice to read about familiar streets and places. Overall, this book is a perfect library rental. With its short chapters and fast-paced storyline, you can read it in a few hours without having to worry about spending a lot of money. Despite its flaws, I did enjoy the story and I'm glad I got to read it. It's a thrilling and entertaining read that will keep you guessing until the very end.

This is an absolutely great thriller, truly one of the best page-turner novels.

It is written in such a masterful way that you can't help but read it in one sitting. The story is fascinating, thrilling, and full of suspense from start to finish.

I would rate it a perfect 5 out of 5. This is the first novel that I have read from James Patterson, and I liked it so very much that I have decided to read each and every one of his novels.

His writing style is captivating and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book. I can't wait to explore more of his works and see what other amazing stories he has to offer.

Overall, I highly recommend this novel to anyone who loves a good thriller and is looking for a book that will keep them entertained from beginning to end.

Oh yeah, it keeps you in a state of suspense throughout.

You've Been Warned is yet another truly fast-paced page turner, just like all of Patterson's books.

However, You've Been Warned is entirely different from the rest of his works. It features a Stephen King-like plotline, yet is written in a James Patterson style. I thought this was kind of cool.

But, it bothered me that it was Stephen King-esque because I kept wondering, "How is Patterson going to make this feel real again?!" Sadly, it never really happened.

Anyway, You've Been Warned is a book about a photographer/nanny named Kristin. She is attempting to balance numerous things simultaneously. She is striving to make a name for herself with her pictures while also trying to earn some money by being a nanny for her lover's kids. Yes, that's right, the husband is cheating on the wife with the nanny.

But all the while this is going on, there is this recurring dream that keeps haunting Kristin. Every morning she wakes up from the same dream. But there's a slight problem. The dream is starting to come true. People are showing up who shouldn't be showing up, and everything begins to fall into place. Kristin, the main character, is desperately trying to put the pieces together before it's too late. Will she be able to do it?

Only time will tell in this thrilling and somewhat eerie story.

I found this book rather confusing.

At the beginning, I had the impression that the narrator was psychic, but as the story progressed, I began to think she was completely crazy nuts.

The ending neatly tied up all the loose ends of the book, but the journey to get there was a painful one for me.

The narrator was a deeply troubled woman who spent the entire book making bad decisions, and that's where I believed the book title originated from.

I got a bit lost in the timeline, trying to figure out what was real and when it actually happened.

This is definitely not a book to read when you're tired. You need to be sharp and have your wits about you to keep track of all the events that are unfolding.

I found the book exciting yet confusing right up until the end, at which point everything finally made sense.

Overall, it was an interesting read, but it required a lot of concentration and effort on my part to fully understand.

This book has been gathering dust on my shelf for quite some time.

After I did some cleaning and happened to notice it, I was immediately drawn in and ended up reading it in just one day.

Surprisingly, it was actually a rather good-sized book, but such is the power of a great story that it seemed to pass by in a flash.

The heroine of our tale experiences horrendous, repeating dreams.

Adding to the complexity of her situation, she has a married boyfriend and she works as the boyfriend's nanny.

Kristin also has the ability to see people who have passed away, and some of them even talk to her.

Moreover, she takes numerous photos that look extremely strange - the people she knows appear transparent in the pictures.

This story is incredibly believable, with the characters being very real and relatable.

It's definitely a page-turner that will keep you on the edge of your chair, and you won't be able to put it down until you reach the end.

And the ending will surely come as a surprise to you.

A Real Let Down for Me...Sorry to Say.

This book, "You've Been Warned," was truly a real let down for me. It deviated significantly from what I had expected. I had anticipated a captivating and thrilling mystery, but unfortunately, all I received was a huge disappointment. I have long been a regular and dedicated fan of James Patterson, having thoroughly enjoyed numerous of his previous books. However, this particular story started to fall apart approximately midway through. It became a real struggle for me to force myself to finish it.

Overall, I would have an extremely hard time recommending this novel to my friends. I truly wish I didn't have to say such things about this otherwise fantastic author. Perhaps it was the co-author that I should place the blame on. Nevertheless, in my honest opinion, the book was not a very good read at all. It failed to hold my interest and engage me in the way that I have come to expect from James Patterson's works.

I hope that his future endeavors will return to the high standards that I have grown accustomed to and that he will once again produce books that leave me on the edge of my seat and eager for more.
