I started with the sixth book in the series as I won it in a raffle.

Otherwise, I might not have read it.

I found the combination of story lines quite interesting.

In the future, I will likely read the first book in the series.

I really like the strong female main characters.

However, the one occasion when I remember them all gathering for a 'girls night' was a bit annoying.

It didn't seem to progress the story.

Overall, despite that small drawback, I still enjoyed the book and look forward to exploring more of the series.

Maybe reading the first book will give me a better understanding of the characters and their backstories.

I'm curious to see how the series began and how the story has developed over time.

I hope the subsequent books will continue to have engaging story lines and strong female characters.

On a bright sunny morning, a deranged man armed with a gun embarks on a deadly trip aboard a ferry boat, taking the lives of four innocent people, one of whom is a young boy. Lindsay Boxer's dearest friend, Claire, and her son William, unfortunately get caught up in this heinous attack, with Claire being shot in the chest. As Claire battles for her life, Lindsay and her new partner, Rich Conklin, take on the case, and it becomes deeply personal for them.

Then, astonishingly, the shooter inexplicably surrenders, but claims that he "didn't mean to hurt anyone" and blames "the voices in my head." Now, it falls upon prosecutor Yuki Castellano to prove that not only is this man not legally insane, but he is also guilty of murdering four people, attempting to murder a fifth, and recklessly endangering the lives of everyone else on the ferry. He has been judged sane and fit to stand trial in court, and Yuki is determined to show that he knew exactly what he was doing, deliberately took aim, and started shooting people. He should be found guilty and punished to the fullest extent of the law in prison for murder, not in a psychiatric hospital.

Simultaneously, parents across the city are living in terror as someone begins kidnapping young children and their nannies in broad daylight. The case takes a terrifying turn when the kidnappers fail to contact the families with a ransom demand. With very little to go on, Lindsay and Richie race against time, fighting to find even the tiniest clue, knowing that every second counts.

And as if matters couldn't get any worse, the residents of Cindy Thomas's apartment building are in a state of panic as someone is randomly killing people, and no one has the slightest idea who would commit such atrocities against innocent individuals.

This is the sixth novel in the thrilling "Woman's Murder Club" series. The books continue to captivate me with their suspenseful storylines, keeping me on the edge of my seat as I follow the adventures of the four friends, Lindsay, Claire, Yuki, and Cindy. "The 6th Target" is a heart-pounding ride from start to finish. The brilliant twists in the plot caught me completely off guard, and I had no idea what was going to happen next, making the tension skyrocket. Maxine Paetro skillfully weaves the three cases together while adding a touch of personal romance among the characters along the way. Despite the complexity of the story, it is easy to follow, and even though it is the sixth book in the series, the storylines and crimes remain fresh and original, and the characters are as engaging as ever. There seems to be no end to the excitement among the four friends, each with their own unexpected twists and turns, leaving me eagerly anticipating what the next book, "7th Heaven," has in store.

If you've been following my reviews of this series, you'll know that this is the second time I've listened to these audio books. The first time was so long ago that I don't remember much except that I loved them, and I'm enjoying them just as much this time around.

Note - This novel is in audio book format. As always, narrator Carolyn McCormick does a remarkable job of bringing the story to life from the written words on the page. Her enthusiastic storytelling is addictive, and I always find it difficult to turn it off.

The Women's Murder Club series was something I initially delved into for mere fun and school-related purposes. Little did I know what I was truly getting myself into. I had no inkling that I would soon find myself completely hooked on these novels.

I have been on this literary journey from the very beginning all the way up to the midpoint of the twelfth novel in the series. Patterson's unique style of writing has truly captivated me, and I couldn't be more delighted. His books are an absolute pleasure to read. They have this amazing ability to keep you on the edge of your seats, constantly craving for more.

You'll find yourself frustrated more than once because you, as the reader, know things that the characters are completely oblivious to. The use of dramatic irony is quite common in this series and can sometimes be quite infuriating. But then again, it's precisely this element that adds to the overall excitement of the novel.

Each book in the series is like a different roller coaster ride. There are different crime scenes to explore, different pieces of evidence to uncover, different tragedies to witness, different love stories to follow, and different obstacles to overcome. Yet, the underlying anxiety and anticipation remain the same throughout. It's truly an unreal experience.

James Patterson is one of the few authors who has managed to capture my interest for such a long time that I've been able to pull through the entire series without a single letdown. "The 6th Target" in particular gave me a whole wave of emotions. I absolutely adored the book. I loved how it constantly kept me guessing. Just like in the rest of the series, you become a detective yourself, fully engaged in the story as if you were one of the characters.

I'm positive that once you start reading, you won't be able to put the book down. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to both teenagers and adults. Those who have a penchant for thrillers will undoubtedly fall in love with this series, this book, and Patterson's distinct style of writing.

There's a particular part in the book where Cindy's life is put in jeopardy, and you're left wondering whether she will become a murder victim or manage to survive and be a part of the next book. However, I don't want to give away any spoilers here. So, go ahead and get yourself a copy and start reading! It will most definitely be worth your while!

The story presents a well-done interweaving of three distinct cases, all of which are under investigation by Lindsay Boxer, a member of the Women's Murder Club.

Unlike some of the other entries in this series, this one doesn't go quite as over-the-top.

The cases are complex and engaging, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat as Lindsay and her team work to solve them.

Each case has its own unique set of challenges and mysteries, and the way they are intertwined adds an extra layer of depth to the story.

As Lindsay delves deeper into the investigations, she uncovers hidden secrets and shocking revelations that will keep you guessing until the very end.

This is a must-read for fans of the Women's Murder Club series and anyone who enjoys a good mystery.

My usual problems with this series persist in this book.

Primarily, the main characters come across as unrealistic, and I struggle to believe in them.

This book had its moments of fun, yet it could also be rather sluggish.

With multiple story lines unfolding concurrently, I discovered that I thoroughly enjoyed some of them, while others failed to hold my interest and were simply dull.

In the end, this book turned out to be a very average read for me. It didn't overly impress or disappoint.

It occupied a middle ground, lacking that extra spark to make it truly outstanding or memorable.

Despite its flaws, it still managed to provide some entertainment, but it didn't quite reach the level that would have made it a must-read.

I will likely continue with the series, hoping that future installments will address some of these issues and offer a more engaging and satisfying reading experience.

I am truly and definitely enjoying this series to a greater extent as we delve deeper into it.

The characters in this series are extremely likable, and I have a great affection for their connection.

I must admit that I perhaps liked the previous installment just a little bit more, but this one is a very close second.

There is no doubt in my mind that I will be continuing this series without hesitation.

This is truly a great read that has captured my attention and kept me engaged throughout.

I am looking forward to seeing what the next installment has in store for me and the wonderful characters that I have come to love.

Overall, I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good story with interesting characters and a captivating plot.

It is definitely worth the read!

Literary genius!!!

There isn't a single thing that I dislike about this author. I have an intense love for reading his books. Once I pick up one of his works and start delving into the story, I find myself completely immersed and simply cannot stop. His writing has this magical quality that makes it a page turner from the very first page all the way to the end. Every word is carefully crafted, every plot twist is ingenious, and every character is vividly brought to life. It's as if I am transported into a whole new world with each turn of the page. I can't get enough of his literary masterpieces and will continue to devour them with great enthusiasm.

This was okay.

I discovered that the A+B plots were extremely disjointed.

This made the book as a whole much more difficult to follow.

As is typical for me, I relished the legal thriller aspect of this book.

However, I simply couldn't get engaged in the main kidnapping plot.

It felt as if the two storylines were not properly integrated, and it disrupted the flow of the narrative.

The legal thriller part had its moments of excitement and intrigue, but the kidnapping plot lacked the necessary depth and coherence to hold my attention.

Overall, while there were some redeeming qualities in the legal aspects, the disjointed nature of the plots detracted from the overall reading experience.

I found myself constantly having to switch gears between the two storylines, which made it hard to fully immerse myself in the book.

Perhaps with better integration and more seamless transitions, this book could have been a more engaging and satisfying read.

I truly enjoyed James Paterson's writing style. It was engaging and made the book a quick read, which I really liked.

However, there were three storylines that seemed completely unconnected, and this frustrated me to no end. I found myself constantly waiting for a big twist that would tie them all together, but unfortunately, it never really happened.

I think that perhaps if I were to read more of the series, I might have a better understanding and appreciation for this particular book. Maybe there are elements in the other books that would clarify the relationships between these storylines.

Overall, it was a good quick read, but it didn't really blow me away. It had its moments, but it wasn't something that I would consider truly great. I would still recommend it to those who enjoy James Paterson's work or are looking for a fast-paced read, but don't expect a mind-blowing masterpiece.

This is an average Patterson thriller that, quite remarkably, manages to cram in three (!) cases and a thread concerning Boxer's love life.

Just like in the previous books, I found the courtroom scenes to be quite engaging. However, one character's extremely rapid recovery struck me as a bit too implausible.

Nonetheless, there were some developments in the ongoing storylines that were both welcome and unexpected. These added an element of surprise and kept me interested in the narrative.

Overall, while it may not be Patterson's best work, it still has its moments and is worth a read for fans of the genre.

Despite its flaws, the book manages to hold the reader's attention and keep them guessing until the very end.

It will be interesting to see where Patterson takes the story in future installments.

This book

truly disappoints. I really want to love these books, but they seem to be an assault on my intelligence. The protagonist is a whiny detective who is unable to have a relationship with the love of her life. The reason? He has a job that she can't handle and she constantly pushes him to give it up. She is just too much to bear. I had to look a few times to see that a woman was involved in the writing of the book. I mean, I can understand a man like James Patterson, with his outdated stereotypes, thinking that a woman would think and act like this. He always makes women in his books act in such a way. But seriously, Maxine, step up. Your name is on this book too, and you should have had more say in how the female character was portrayed.
