Lindsay is truly a whiny and unprofessional character in this installment. It's exasperating to listen to her constantly complain about being Lieutenant and repeatedly ask to revert to her previous rank of Sergeant. It seems like she's playing right into the sexist notion that this job is too arduous for women. Meanwhile, she's running around trying to untangle a complex web of three intersecting plot lines that only serve to confuse and muddle the story. It's both exhausting and frustrating to follow her antics.

The so-called friendship and teamwork within the Women's Murder Club has taken on a very strange tone. It's astonishing that the author could pen these scenes and believe they are good enough for others to read. Moreover, it's somewhat offensive to think that these are accurate portrayals of how real women interact with each other. Half the time, it feels as if I'm reading a novel where Alex Cross has somehow ended up on Saved by the Bell. This series is rapidly devolving into the after-school special of crime novels. If you have a penchant for overly cheesy and unconvincing storylines, then by all means, give it a try. However, for those seeking a more engaging and realistic crime thriller, this one may fall short. ⭐⭐ | 2 stars.

The latest installment of the Women's Murder Club series is not quite as excellent as the previous one, but it still manages to be filled with numerous page-turning incidents that keep readers on the edge of their seats.

A man goes on a rampage and massacres 5 people on a ferry, sending shockwaves through the community. Meanwhile, a wealthy heiress is kidnapped right in broad daylight, leaving her family and friends in a state of panic. To make matters worse, there's a deranged maniac lurking around Cindy's apartment block, putting her and her neighbors in danger.

With these three cases at hand, it's up to the Women's Murder Club to use their skills and intuition to solve the mysteries and bring the culprits to justice. Will they be able to crack the cases and protect the innocent? Only time will tell. So far, this installment earns a rating of 5 out of 12.

This was definitely better than the ones I had previously read.

There was a rich tapestry of events unfolding within its pages. So much was happening that it initially seemed overwhelming.

However, what truly impressed me was how each and every one of these storylines was concluded in a highly realistic way.

It wasn't as if everything was neatly tied up with a bow in an overly simplistic manner. Instead, the resolutions felt genuine and in line with the complex nature of the situations presented.

The author had managed to create a world that was both engaging and believable, making it a truly enjoyable read.

It made me eager to explore more of their works in the future.

Overall, this book stood out from the rest and left a lasting impression on me.

I have made up my mind that I am a devotee of this series. They are all incredibly easy to read and invariably possess sufficiently captivating mysteries along with a charming set of friendly characters. To this, we can add the short chapters that keep the pages flipping, and you end up with books that are always great to have within reach whenever you require something that is neither overly burdensome nor overly demanding.

The 6th Target is a prime example of the series. It features a couple of distinct police cases unfolding simultaneously. One involves a mass murderer, while the other pertains to child abduction. All four members of the Women's Murder Club are engaged to different extents, although Lyndsey plays the most prominent role. A significant portion of the story centers around police work, complete with its inevitable failures and successes. Time is also dedicated to the courtroom, and these chapters are skillfully written.

So, it is a perfect book to read in a doctor's waiting room, on a plane, or as a light respite between other more arduous books. I firmly believe that James Patterson writes with the intention of entertaining his readers, and he无疑 achieves this goal.

Patterson teams up with Paetro once more in the sixth installment of the Women’s Murder Club series, and I completely understand why! The book is well-written, with a fast pace and high energy.

By this point, I truly feel as if I know each member of the Women’s Murder Club on a personal level. The story has multiple small plots running parallel to the main plot, yet it remains easy to follow.

The quotes in the book add depth and interest. For example, “….once told me this thing about brain chemistry, the nub of it being that when you’re feeling good, you can’t ever imagine feeling bad again. And when you’re feeling bad, it’s impossible to imagine a time when you won’t be circling the drain.”

Another interesting line is “The Women’s Murder Club was assembled—but why?”

As this is such an easy read, it is perfect to pick up between books that might be a bit more complex or time-consuming.

However, I did find the romance for some of the characters to be unrealistic and too fake, which is the only reason I didn't rate it higher.

Overall, it's a great read for those who enjoy speed and suspense.

On to the next book in the series!

This was a fairly good installment in this series.

I don't believe any of these Patterson/coauthor mysteries will ever be a truly fantastic read. They may not reach the highest echelons of literary excellence, but there is still something about them that keeps me coming back.

Personally, I prefer this series to the Alex Cross series. The characters and storylines in this series seem to have a certain charm that the Alex Cross series lacks for me.

Currently, I am reading both series as one-installment-per-month Buddy reads. It's a great way to keep up with the latest releases and discuss the books with a friend.

Overall, while this installment may not have been a mind-blowing masterpiece, it was still an enjoyable read that left me looking forward to the next one in the series.

The sixth volume in the "Girls' Crime Club" series brings to the forefront two cases: that of a criminal with psycho-behavioral disorders who coldly murders 5 people on board a ferry and several cases of rapes that have in common the existence of the same pimps.

Once again, after a very captivating previous volume, we have come across a slower volume with a more predictable action. However, being a fan of this series, I will continue to read the rest of the novels that are part of this series.

The description of the cases in this volume is detailed, allowing the reader to better understand the complexity of the situations. The characters are well-developed, and their motives and actions are believable.

Although the pace of the story may be a bit slower than in the previous volume, it still manages to hold the reader's attention. The author has done a good job of creating a sense of mystery and suspense, making the reader eager to find out what will happen next.

Overall, while this volume may not be as exciting as the previous one, it is still a worthwhile addition to the "Girls' Crime Club" series. Fans of the series will not be disappointed, and new readers may find themselves hooked on this engaging and thrilling series.

I am truly loving the Women's Murder Club books. They are an absolute delight to read. The short chapters make it easy to pick up and put down, while the abundance of action keeps you on the edge of your seat.

In "The 6th Target", Claire is shot and nearly loses her life. There are also child abductions and a killer stalking the halls of the apartment block where he lives!

In typical Patterson style, the plots intertwine seamlessly. They don't get lost or confusing, and the action is non-stop at a breakneck speed of 100 mph.

I've come across numerous reviews that criticize this book and the series. Some claim that the characters have gone off on a tangent and it no longer feels like a women's club as they seem to have stopped solving the crimes together. They also say that there are too many plots instead of just one main storyline.

However, I beg to differ. Each person is entitled to their own opinion, but in my view, having 2 or 3 plots going on is true to real life. It adds depth and keeps the book interesting, rather than it dragging on and on with just one plot. And yes, in this particular book, the ladies aren't sitting together solving the crimes. But that's because Claire was shot and in the hospital, and it doesn't have to be the same old scene of them sitting around a table solving crimes in every book. Otherwise, it would get really boring.

Second Read:

As I have read several of these out of order, I'm quite aware of what is coming. However, I don't want to be a spoiler as there are some truly "fun and romantic" elements as well as some "wicked and evil" stuff that is about to unfold. This is a series by Patterson and Paetro that I thoroughly enjoy. While I may not like some of his other works, this one is a definite yes for me. I really appreciate the character development and the partnerships within the story, and how well the characters work together. My compliments go out to the authors for this wonderful series. I highly recommend it to all mystery lovers.

First Read:

I am completely addicted to this series. In "The 6th Target", we find not just a page-turner with a great plot and numerous surprises, but also a real shot of adrenaline for the readers. As we become engrossed in this mystery, we get to know a little more about the members of this unusual Club and find ourselves immersed in their different life choices.

This installment begins on a ferry boat, where six shots are fired, killing four passengers and injuring one of the Club's members, Claire Washburn. Now, Claire is fighting for her life while the others race to keep a madman behind bars before anyone else is hurt. If you enjoy courtroom scenes, this story has the typical exchanges between lawyers, witnesses, and the accused. Yuki Castellano presents her first murder case with great flair.

Meanwhile, San Francisco is being plagued by a rash of other strange crimes. Children with their nannies are being snatched off the streets seemingly without any motive, and Cindy Thomas finds her apartment building under attack by vandals. In the midst of the rising panic and excitement, Police Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer struggles to balance her personal life with the investigations.

In the sixth installment of the Women's Murder Club series, Lindsay, Cindy, Yuki, and Claire find themselves in the midst of a flurry of intense and harrowing events.

Right from the start, one of the four women narrowly escapes being shot on the ferry during what appears to be a random act of violence that claims the lives of several others. Simultaneously, a menacing serial kidnapper is terrorizing the city, leaving a trail of fear and uncertainty in their wake.

Adding to the chaos, Lindsay and Joe are facing some personal issues that further complicate their already tumultuous relationship.

What I truly appreciate about this series is its ability to transport me into a world that closely resembles an episode of Law & Order. The stories are fast-paced, filled with unexpected twists and turns that keep me on the edge of my seat. The seamless blend of police work and courtroom drama adds an extra layer of depth and excitement.

However, like any long-running series, there are moments when the dialogue can feel a bit cheesy or cringey, but it's a small price to pay for the overall entertainment value.

Some books in the series are undoubtedly stronger than others, but that's to be expected. Despite this, I'm eager to continue my journey with the Women's Murder Club and will likely pick up book seven in the not-too-distant future.

The Women's Murder Club series has always been a thrilling read, and the 6th book is no exception.

It starts with a harrowing incident where Claire, along with several others, is shot by a man who surprisingly turns himself in to the police. This sets the stage for a complex investigation as the club tries to figure out the motive behind the shooting.

Adding to the chaos, children and their nannies are being kidnapped. The sense of urgency is palpable as the club races against time to find the missing children and bring them back safely.

Meanwhile, Cindy's apartment building is facing a terrifying situation. There is an animal killer on the loose, and there have also been attempts on people's lives. Cindy finds herself in the middle of this dangerous situation, and the club must work together to protect her and solve the mystery.

With multiple storylines unfolding simultaneously, this book keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. It's a must-read for fans of crime thrillers.
