This book was filled with numerous events. The initial part truly made me shed tears as I was extremely frightened by what had occurred and deeply hoped it wasn't real.

However, this book managed to make me develop a love for the court case. As a reader, it felt as if I was also a juror, striving to determine whether the person was insane or not.

Once the conclusion of the book arrived with the shooter, it reminded me of the TV series Bones. There is someone who appears criminally insane, yet in the long term, he precisely knows what he is doing and is far more intelligent than anyone gives him credit for.

Consequently, I am intrigued to discover if this "insane" man will return in any of the other books to seek revenge on Lindsey or Yuki.

Regarding the love story, I'm not certain if I like Joe. He still hasn't completely won me over. It was a bit of a surprise that she was thinking about Richard. But overall, a small part of me still hopes that she will ultimately end up with Jacoby.

I am pretty addicted to this series by Patterson.

Although I don't love the overload of cases, they are indeed very good. The stories are action-packed and fast-paced, which keeps me on the edge of my seat.

The tie-ups at the end of each case are also nice, giving a sense of closure.

What I really like is the bit of romance that is mixed with the thrill of the chase. It adds an extra layer of interest to the stories.

Overall, I think this series is perfect for anyone who loves mystery and thriller novels. It has all the elements that make for a great read - action, mystery, romance, and a fast pace.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series and see what new cases and adventures the characters will face.

The book is not bad at all.

It's just that I didn't have a deep affection for it or truly fall in love with it. I simply liked it.

In the story, it's just Lindsay solving another case, and Yuki taking the lead in her first criminal case.

Claire and Cindy didn't offer any help at all.

I really miss the group effort in solving the cases, which is the very reason why I like this series.

I hope that in the later books, it can return to that kind of situation where they all work together.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the author will bring back the charm of the group cooperation and make the stories more exciting and engaging.

Maybe there will be more challenges and adventures for the team, and they will show their unique skills and wisdom to overcome difficulties and solve cases.

I can't wait to read the next installment and see if my expectations will be met.

Once again, I find myself indulging in a binge of the past Women's Murder Club (WMC) stories. These captivating tales have been downloaded to my Kindle from my local library, providing me with hours of thrilling entertainment. Two mysteries of the "who done it?" variety took center stage, and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey of trying to solve them. One of the mysteries involved a mentally ill murderer, whose actions were both chilling and unpredictable. The other mystery revolved around a bogus company that rented out European pretty-nannies to upscale clients. I won't reveal any more details, as I don't want to give away the plot. Once again, Lindsay is faced with the difficult decision of which man is better suited to her. This adds a touch of romance to the otherwise gruesome facts of her investigations. If you've never read the WMC series, I highly recommend that you start now! You won't be disappointed.

I'm truly relishing my time spent reading these books.

It's remarkable to see how Lindsay had the courage and determination to stand firm regarding her requirements in her relationship with Joe.

Her actions are truly inspiring and make me admire her even more.

I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this series.

The anticipation is building up inside me, and I'm certain that it will be just as engaging and captivating as the previous ones.

I'm looking forward to delving deeper into the story and seeing what new adventures and challenges the characters will face.

These books have become a source of great joy and entertainment for me, and I'm excited to continue this literary journey.

What a truly horrible book this is!

This series seems to be deteriorating with each passing installment. I often find myself in a situation where I run out of things to read and, unfortunately, I forget just how bad these books are. So, I naively pick up another one, hoping for a different experience.

But alas, it's always the same. The storylines are lackluster, the characters are one-dimensional, and the writing is subpar. It's as if the author has completely lost touch with what makes a good book.

Well, this time, I've truly learned my lesson. I'm done with this series for good. There are far too many other wonderful books out there waiting to be discovered, and I'm not going to waste any more time on this disappointment.

Here there were just too many plotlines/murder cases running parallel for me. I kind of had the feeling of reading a patchwork quilt. Was it perhaps to reach a certain page count.... one just doesn't know.

Otherwise, it's a typical Patterson. He has a knack for creating engaging stories that keep the reader on the edge of their seat. However, in this particular book, the abundance of parallel storylines made it a bit overwhelming at times. It was like trying to keep track of multiple threads simultaneously, and I found myself getting a bit lost.

Despite this, Patterson's writing style is still engaging and easy to follow. The characters are well-developed, and the action scenes are exciting. Overall, it's an okay read, but not one of his best.

Plodding through the series, I have just finished book 6.

Before opening the book, the first thought that crossed my mind was, "OMG, who are they going to bump off in the 'circle' now?" Well, as it turns out, one of the ladies gets shot. You'll have to read to discover which one.

Lindsay goes crazy. She asks to be demoted, and she is. Then she realizes she's a fool and wonders what the hell she was thinking. Right, oh dear! This girl is supposed to be bright!

After that, she dumps her boyfriend. Does he come back? You'll have to read to find out. I got hooked on these books, and if I have to slog through them, so do you!

A nutter is killing everyone on a boat. Is he nuts, or just an evil person? Why are kids being kidnapped, their nannies killed, and no ransom demands? Well, I think it's easy to figure out who is doing it, but proving it is a bit more difficult. However, the ladies are on their game. They join together to figure out who dun it.

Now, it's time to move on to book 7.

I have to say when I first started this series, I thought the books were great. But these last two books have really left me disappointed.

Again in this book, there are a plethora of plots unfolding rather than the focus being on one big case. On top of that, I feel like Lindsay Boxer, our main heroine, spends the majority of this book crying and being irrational, or acting completely out of character. It seems as if she is going through menopause and a midlife crisis simultaneously. Pretty much in this book, if Lindsay gets what she wants, she cries. It's strange and so out of character that it becomes frustrating by the end.

She wants to be back on the streets investigating and not behind a desk. In the last book, I believe it was she pleaded her case to her boss to demote her and let her go back to just investigating and promote one of the guys in the department. I could actually relate. I wanted a promotion and I deserved it, and it ruffled a few feathers when I got it because I was a woman and I didn't have the years other people did. But once I got the promotion, I hated it. I don't like being in charge, but I don't really like answering to other people either. Anyway, I understood. But once I made the decision to be demoted, I was thrilled when it finally happened. I didn't have to take a pay cut and I was put on with people that needed help and it all worked well. I had the knowledge and I used it a lot, but I didn't have all the responsibility and paperwork. I got what I asked for and I was happy. Lindsay, on the other hand, cried. Then she ran away and went to see her boyfriend. Her awesome, sweet, hot boyfriend who left her a plane ticket to come see him whenever. She tries to call him and he doesn't answer. She gets there and he isn't home, but his housekeeper is lounging in his apartment, completely goofing off. But his lazy employee becomes the basis for her breakdown as she starts going through his stuff trying to prove to herself that he isn't cheating. In the end, she sees a picture of them on his nightstand and knows she was being crazy. So she stands in his bedroom, cries and then leaves. Without a word. Next time she sees him, she breaks up with him because she doesn't want to do the long distance thing anymore - she tells him to leave, they are over. Then she gets upset because he isn't chasing her and hasn't called to try and get her back. While she is moping because she once again got what she wanted, she almost has sex with her new partner. The whole seduction made me cringe, there was nothing sexy about it and it was so out of the blue for Lindsay, the person who usually considers things carefully. All she had been doing is flying off the handle with rash decisions. Plus, she was still upset because Joe wasn't chasing her and at the end of the day, she stopped it not because of Joe and her feelings for him, but because they were partners and she thought getting involved with her partner was a bad idea. Now, here is the thing. I really dislike when my main character has a set of double standards as far as relationships go. If Joe came back and had fooled around with someone else, she would never have spoken to him again. But it's okay for her to do it? Ugh! Anyway, finally Joe does come back and he tells her he's made it official, he's transferring to be with her and he was just waiting for the paperwork, but he was so excited he had to come tell her immediately, so instead of calling he flew to see her and tell her in person. And then she gets pissed that he had to leave again, because it wasn't happening right away. At this point, I felt like she was just making excuses to be unhappy. Finally, he comes back officially relocated, with a ring and she still isn't happy, which just feels like she's been making excuses all along.

So much of the book is dedicated to Lindsay's relationship drama that you can almost forget there are 3 homicide cases going on. The case that starts at the top of the book goes all the way to trial and beyond in this book. The other two cases are really feeling like filler, and never once in this book did the women get together and try to solve the murder, which if I'm not mistaken is the whole basis of these stories - "The Woman's Murder Club". I'm not sure what is different, but the whole new format feels unfocused, like someone trying to mass produce another book. Since as I started this series, there are already 11 books out, I don't really know how fast these come out, but as much as I love reading, I would rather wait longer for a better book. But they are still quick reads and easy to listen to while I'm doing other things like shopping, driving and cooking, so I'll continue and hope for a return to the books I was starting to enjoy.

And since I'm listening to these books on audio, I have to comment on that. The audio in these books is so overproduced. Maybe I've gotten used to listening to low budget books, but I really hate that they feel like an old radio drama. The dramatic music and the occasional background noise - I feel like I could get through the book 20 minutes faster without it. I like my audio books simple, because just because I'm listening instead of reading, it doesn't mean that I'm not still providing my own imagination.

This installment of the series was truly excellent.

I have become rather bored with the romance between Boxer and Joe. It seems to have lost its charm for me.

However, what I really liked about this particular installment was that there were two or three stories unfolding simultaneously. This added a great deal of depth and complexity to the overall narrative.

The pace of the story was also very good. It kept me engaged from start to finish, without any lulls or slow moments.

And as always, the audio production was simply wonderful. The voices of the narrators brought the characters to life, and the sound effects added an extra layer of realism to the story.

Overall, I would highly recommend this installment to anyone who is a fan of the series.

I have been completely sucked into the Women’s Murder Club series, and I am giving the 6th Target a solid 4.5 stars!

This book is an absolute page turner and a quick read. From the very beginning, it grabs your attention and doesn't let go. The last half of the book is especially intense, keeping me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

There were a few moments in the story where I found myself saying, “oh come on..” but that only added to the overall excitement and unpredictability of the plot. And the ending! It left me wanting more, eager to pick up the 7th book in the series and continue following the adventures of the Women’s Murder Club.

I highly recommend this series to all my crime junkie friends out there. If you love a good mystery with strong female characters and plenty of twists and turns, then the Women’s Murder Club series is definitely for you.
