Another great book by James Patterson and his minions.

It is truly a wonder that they ever manage to convict any of these mob bosses. The criminal underworld depicted in Patterson's works is a complex and shadowy realm, filled with cunning and powerful figures.

The storylines often involve intense cat-and-mouse games between the law enforcement agencies and the mobsters. The efforts to bring these mob bosses to justice are fraught with difficulties and challenges.

Despite the odds, Patterson and his team of writers manage to create thrilling and engaging narratives that keep readers on the edge of their seats. Their ability to bring the world of organized crime to life is truly remarkable.

Whether it's through intricate plot twists, well-developed characters, or vivid descriptions, Patterson's books continue to captivate audiences and make us wonder just how difficult it must be to convict these elusive mob bosses in the real world.

Elegantly written, James & Andrew take you on a captivating journey into the life of FBI agent Nicky Smiles as he embarks on a pursuit of justice.

I commenced reading this book with the assumption that the entire narrative would unfold within the courtroom. However, after delving into the story, a second glance at the title reveals its multifaceted relevance to the book in other aspects as well. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the book ventured beyond the courtroom walls.

I am reluctant to spoil any details, but if you have a penchant for crime action books, shows, or movies, I highly recommend picking up this book and giving it a read. It is a real page-turner and an easy read. It is not overly burdened with excessive details, yet it has just enough to maintain a brisk pace and keep you intrigued.

There were certain moments that were somewhat predictable or where I found myself thinking, "What are you doing? You could have handled this and taken care of that more effortlessly." This is precisely why I am undecided as to whether this book deserves a 3-star or 4-star rating. I believe my final verdict will lean towards a 3-star book because there were certain actions by the characters that left me perplexed as to how they could continue their pursuit. Nevertheless, it is still a worthwhile one-time read.

This is my very first time delving into a thriller penned by James Patterson. Previously, I had the pleasure of reading one of his romance books titled "Susan's Diary for Nicholas", and I was truly amazed by it. It was an exceptional piece of work that left a lasting impression on me. As a result, I made up my mind to explore his thriller genre. And boy, was I in for a treat! After reading just one of his thrillers, he rapidly ascended to the ranks of my favorite authors. His writing style is truly one-of-a-kind. When I picked up "The Judge and Jury", I was immediately hooked. I simply couldn't put the book down. With each passing page, I found myself on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating what would happen next. It was as if I had been transported into the courtroom itself, sitting right there with the jury, experiencing every moment of the intense drama.

I would've given 3.5 stars.

The plot of this book is truly great. It weaves a captivating story that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat from beginning to end. The characters are also well-developed and engaging. Each one has their own unique personality and motives, which adds depth and complexity to the narrative.

As expected from this author, there is plenty of action and suspense throughout the book. The fast-paced scenes and unexpected twists and turns make it a thrilling read. It's the kind of book that you can't put down once you start.

Overall, this is a good entertaining motion picture type of book. It has all the elements that make for an enjoyable read, including a great plot, great characters, and plenty of action and suspense. If you're looking for a fun and exciting book to read, then this one is definitely worth checking out.

FBI agent Nick Pellisante has been doggedly tracking Mafia boss Dominic Cavello, who is responsible for a litany of horrendous crimes. After painstakingly gathering evidence, he finally has enough to see Cavello convicted, and the biggest trial of the decade commences.

Single mother Andie DeGrasse is randomly selected as a member of the jury. However, following anonymous threats, the jury is sequestered for their protection. Just as the jury is on the verge of reaching their decision, a bomb detonates near the jury bus as it makes its way back to the jury's hotel. Tragically, Andie is the only surviving jury member, and to make matters worse, it's her son's birthday.

Nick, the FBI agent, is consumed with a desire for revenge after the bombing. Meanwhile, Andie is resolute in her determination to see justice served for the Mafia boss and whoever was responsible for planting the bomb. This legal thriller features a lightning-fast moving plot that keeps readers on the edge of their seats, making it a real page-turner from start to finish.

Nobody is above the law, yet there are those who blatantly disregard it.

When Mafia kingpin Dominic Cavello is apprehended by an FBI team led by Special Agent Nicholas Pellisante, the public heaves a collective sigh of relief. A very bad man no longer roams the streets. However, things are not always as they seem.

This story takes the reader on a wild world tour, starting from New York, venturing to Israel, and ultimately reaching the end of the world at the tip of South America.

Some people hold no value for the lives of others and kill simply for the self-gratifying act of inflicting pain, sorrow, and suffering. They do it because they can.

In the short-chaptered, fast-moving, easy-reading, and interesting James Patterson style, this book is sure to delight every reader.

The subtitle on the cover, however, is misleading. Introduced as the ultimate legal thriller, one might expect it to rival a John Grisham story, but it doesn't. It's an entirely new game. There is no courtroom drama or antics. There's hardly enough time in the courtroom to admire the architecture of the building.

This game is played outdoors, where the big league players swagger and strut their stuff.

This book is a must-read for Patterson fans, and I highly recommend it to all others.

James Patterson's 'Judge and Jury' is truly a remarkable piece of work that earns a well-deserved solid 4.5 stars.

The storyline is incredibly gripping, filled with twists and turns that keep readers on the edge of their seats. From the very first page, Patterson manages to grab hold of your attention and refuses to let go until the final, heart-pounding conclusion.

The characters in the novel are also compelling. The dynamic protagonists, driven by a sense of justice and vengeance, draw you deeper into their world. You can't help but root for them as they navigate through the complex and dangerous plot.

Patterson's signature fast-paced writing style is on full display in 'Judge and Jury'. There's never a dull moment, as the story races along at breakneck speed. This makes the novel a thrilling ride from start to finish.

Whether you're a longtime fan of Patterson's work or new to his novels, 'Judge and Jury' is sure to leave you eager to turn the pages late into the night. It's a must-read for anyone who loves a good mystery or thriller.

Really, it's more of a 3.5/5, so I rounded it up.

The first half to two-thirds of this book is excellent. Patterson crafts a truly despicable 'bad guy' in Cavello, someone who is willing to stop at nothing to escape. Meanwhile, the 'good guys' are resolute in their determination to see him brought to justice by following the law.

Had this trend persisted, 'Judge and Jury' would undoubtedly have been a 4 or 5-star book. Regrettably, the protagonists then decide to start breaking the law and go rogue, just like Cavello. The book's theme thus shifts from law-abiding perseverance to 'vigilante justice', and in the process, it loses some of my interest.

It's a shame because the initial setup was so promising. The contrast between the immoral Cavello and the law-abiding heroes was engaging. But when the good guys take a wrong turn, it disrupts the balance and makes the story less appealing.

Overall, 'Judge and Jury' has its strengths, but the change in the protagonists' behavior detracts from its overall quality.

Judge and Jury is a captivating tale filled with obsession, greed, and revenge.

Single mum Andie DeGrasse was desperate to avoid jury duty and exhausted every possible means to get out of it. However, to her dismay, nothing worked, and she found herself serving as a juror. Then, an event occurred that completely rocked Andie's world, and this was when Nic Pellisante became involved with her. The readers of Judge & Jury will be hooked, eagerly following Andie and Nic's story to discover what unfolds. Moreover, the ending of Judge & Jury is sure to surprise the readers.

I thoroughly enjoy reading Judge & Jury. James Patterson and Andrew Gross have once again done a remarkable job of portraying the characters and skillfully intertwining their storylines. The book is not only well-written but also meticulously researched. I appreciate the way James and Andrew vividly describe the settings, which allows me to fully immerse myself in the plot and become deeply invested in the characters.

The readers of Judge & Jury will gain an understanding of the heartache that parents experience when they lose a child. Additionally, they will learn about the procedures and challenges that jurors face when they are part of a highly publicized murder case.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

A truly amazing and suspenseful book awaits you. It is especially captivating for those who have a keen interest in organized crime and/or the field of law. The characters within its pages are incredibly interesting, each with their own unique traits and motives. As you progress through the story, you'll find yourself on the edge of your seat, eagerly anticipating what comes next.

The resolution of the book is nothing short of remarkable. It leaves you with a sense of longing, making you want to go back and read it all over again, just to experience the excitement and mystery one more time. This truly is my favorite novel, a literary masterpiece that has the power to transport you to a world filled with danger, intrigue, and unforgettable characters.

Patterson's 'Judge & Jury' is not among the finest in terms of writing quality or the most intellectually stimulating crime novels I've ever come across.

However, it is undoubtedly one of the most engaging crime novels I've read in a considerable period. It's a real page-turner that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Given the vast number of crime novels available, achieving this level of entertainment value is no easy task.

I typically assess a crime novel based on my eagerness to keep reading and reach the conclusion. Some clichéd ones tend to lose my interest rapidly.

This is precisely why 'Judge & Jury' should be regarded as a success. Even if a more in-depth and critical analysis might reveal certain shortcomings in other aspects of the novel, such as its plot or rather ordinary writing in some parts.

Nevertheless, its overall entertainment factor more than compensates for these minor flaws, making it a highly enjoyable read.
