The best Biblically based health and diet book I've ever read. It is truly an outstanding piece of work.

From the very first page, it is evident that this book is filled with truth upon truth. The author has done an excellent job of presenting the principles and teachings from the Bible in a way that is both understandable and applicable to our modern lives.

What sets this book apart is its comprehensive approach to health and diet. It not only provides practical advice on what to eat and how to live a healthy lifestyle but also delves into the spiritual and emotional aspects of our well-being.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Whether you are looking to improve your physical health, deepen your spiritual connection, or simply gain a better understanding of the relationship between faith and health, this book is a must-read. It is a valuable resource that will inspire and guide you on your journey towards a healthier and more fulfilling life.

I had a general idea of the types of foods that this book would include. However, what I didn't anticipate was that it would provide detailed information about the health benefits of those foods and how they impact the body, all supported by well-documented studies. This aspect truly made the book valuable.

I do think that the author was a bit excessive in promoting filtered or bottled water. In my view, safe well water that is not contaminated by chlorine or other chemicals should be perfectly fine. Additionally, I was disappointed that there was no guidance on how to avoid the mercury that is so widespread in fish these days. As a result, it can be challenging to follow the author's recommendations precisely, which essentially amounts to the Mediterranean Diet minus a few items like pork and shellfish.

Overall, though, this book does contain high-quality content. The end of the book offers a week's worth of dinner menu examples to assist the reader in transitioning into the "healthstyle" that the author advocates. Contrary to some other reviews, it's important to note that the menu is not a cookbook. There is a separate cookbook companion available for those who are interested in eating more in line with what the author suggests, perhaps even more like Jesus.

This book delved into Jesus's probable diet and exercise habits.

The author drew parallels between Jesus's diet and the renowned Mediterranean diet.

It presented a wealth of useful information, covering various aspects such as the types of foods that were likely part of Jesus's diet and how they compared to the components of the Mediterranean diet.

Moreover, there was a dedicated section that provided a week's worth of menus based on the diet recommendations.

These menus offered practical guidance on how to incorporate the principles of the diet into one's daily eating routine.

Overall, the book not only shed light on an interesting topic but also provided valuable insights and practical suggestions for those interested in following a healthy diet inspired by Jesus's lifestyle.

Very informative!

This article provides a great deal of useful information. I truly appreciate the way it clearly explains what kinds of food were eaten and the reasons behind those choices. It offers valuable insights into different dietary habits and their significance. However, I must admit that I was a bit disappointed. There could have been more detailed recipes and comprehensive meal plans included. These would have been extremely helpful for those who are looking to apply the knowledge gained from the article in their daily lives. With more recipes and meal plans, readers would have a better understanding of how to incorporate the recommended foods into their own diets in a practical and delicious way. Overall, while the article is informative, the lack of additional recipes and meal plans is a missed opportunity to provide even more value to the readers.

The article was decent as it contained some useful information. However, it seemed rather one-sided as it essentially just stated that "Jesus ate a Kosher, Mediterranean diet" throughout its two hundred pages.

This could potentially limit the depth and breadth of the exploration. There could have been more in-depth analysis of the specific foods that might have been part of Jesus' diet, as well as how this diet related to the cultural and historical context of the time.

Additionally, perhaps there could have been comparisons made to other diets of the region or discussions about the possible health implications of a Kosher, Mediterranean diet.

Overall, while the basic premise was interesting, the article could have benefited from a more comprehensive and detailed examination of the topic.

DID JESUS TEACH HOW US TO EAT BY WHAT HE DID?

Author Don Colbert, in the Introduction to his 2002 book, raised an interesting point. He said that we strive to follow Jesus' teachings regarding the use of our time, talents, and financial resources. But do we also want to eat as Jesus ate? He questioned why not, considering we seek to follow Jesus in every other aspect of our lives. He contended that Jesus did teach about nutrition, not necessarily through His words, but by His actions. There are numerous examples in the Bible related to healthy eating, and Jesus fully embodied them in His lifestyle.

Colbert added that the diet plan presented in his book emphasizes whole foods, fresh foods, pure water, and foods without additives. He also stated that the foods Jesus ate were based on Levitical law. God's initial plan was for man to be a vegetarian, and those who lived during this period had longer lives. After the Flood, meat was introduced into the human diet, which may be linked to a shorter life span.

Colbert asserted that Jesus did not eat processed, high-sugar, high-fat, high-salt, low-fiber foods. Instead, He ate whole fruits and vegetables, whole-grain bread, fish, a little kosher meat, and some dairy products. He also pointed out that Jesus likely ate beef on special occasions, such as weddings, but it was not a daily or weekly practice. Additionally, he argued that Jesus drank wine, primarily red wine.

Finally, Colbert observed that the foods Jesus ate are similar to the popular Mediterranean Diet, with the exception of the forbidden foods in the Bible. He is a strong advocate for the Mediterranean Diet as a whole, as it is good for weight loss and a healthy way of eating for life.
