I think it was for the fifth time that

I read "Alice in Wonderland".

Now exactly 20 years old, I feel that I have more in common with Alice than when I was 15.

The older I get, the younger I feel.

When I read "Alice in Wonderland" for the fifth time, "wolves" in "Ruzhava" bite people, set them on fire, and rain bombs.

Now in which wonderland does Alice ask?

I want to read the story of Alice to children in Ruzhava years later and have them say how funny it is and laugh.

But I promise they won't laugh...

But by reading Alice, they can get a little away from the ugly world, of course I'm not there and I can't testify on their behalf.

Although I'm not there myself, I can take Alice to a place where there are really fewer rats and cockroaches like Carol's.

Later I will read Alice again, over and over again, and I will cry and drown in my own tears. Oh Alice, save me....!

I don't often get emotional with Yaghma Golrooyi, but for years I cried with his poems and the voice of Shahin Najafi. Let it be that you cry:

"The City of Rats"

This is the wonderland,

Take my hands! My Alice!

I borrow the blood of my veins

To write down all the events.

This is the wonderland,

A garden of man-eating flowers

People crush its seeds

When dancing on the gallows.

They tie the dog to the ball,

The wolves that are sitting there.

Her husband stands like a mountain,

He pours acid on women.

No one has the right to touch

The long head of Pinocchio.

Or God has not made a mistake

In the story of the fish and Geppetto's father.

The people who with their hopes

Drown in the price of a vow

Like a field that dreams of wheat

In infertility.

They have forgotten the name of the soldier

Lost at the border point.

For thousands of years they learn

From the defeat of an imaginary enemy.

It doesn't matter anymore to anyone,

The taste of a piece of bread, with a piece of rice.

One can still have a peaceful sleep

In the depth of a peaceful and dark grave.

Life here is hard! My Alice!

You were among the prostitutes.

Among the earrings,

A cat in the city of rats.

I'm still bleeding from my wounds,

I say from the living girls to the grave.

On this flag of the wind's consent,

I become like a worthless appendage.

Until forever I'm a thorn in my throat,

Until eternity I'm an addict here.

I put the glass of my poetry in the lightning,

With the sorrow of your needs.

On the walls of my Facebook,

A prisoner draws a line with a stick

I write but - according to Forough -

With these same cement hands.

All my unspoken hatreds,

Turn into tears in my angry eyes,

This is the wonderland,

Take my hands, my Alice.

I am deeply in love with this edition of Alicia en el país de las maravillas. It is absolutely beautiful, featuring splendid illustrations.

I have profoundly enjoyed immersing myself in this extremely delirious world. It is a story without a hint of logic, but precisely because of that, it makes you experience tremendous moments, filled with laughter and confusion.

The truth is that I have had the book on my shelves for months, but I didn't dare to start it because I heard very varied opinions. I never saw the movie, so I didn't have an idea of what the story is about either. However, now that I have read the book, I have no doubts that I want to see that movie.

While reading, I was intrigued by what was going to happen next, because with such crazy things happening, you could never specifically imagine what would come. That intrigue is precisely what produced a great excitement in me when reading it.

I loved it from beginning to end.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a truly remarkable and unique children's book. The story takes readers on a wild and absurd journey through a world filled with talking fish, playing cards, a queen obsessed with beheadings, and a rabbit with a watch that tells the day instead of the time. It's a hodgepodge of strange and wonderful things that, despite their absurdity, manage to be highly entertaining.

The dialogue between the characters is equally奇特. For example, when the Gryphon explains to Alice why the fish are called "plaice," his reasoning is completely nonsensical yet somehow charming. And Alice herself evolves throughout the story, starting off as perhaps a bit dull but ultimately showing herself to be intelligent and sharp-witted during the trial scene.

The author, Lewis Carroll, even admits in the letters at the end of this edition that his book is a load of nonsense. But that's precisely what makes it so great. It's a departure from the ordinary and a celebration of the power of imagination. As the Duchess says, "It's better to be than to seem," and in this book, that sentiment truly rings true. Overall, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a classic that continues to delight readers of all ages with its whimsy and charm.

I have not read the original version of the novel "Alice in Wonderland" yet, but I am sure that it has been severely abridged in this version.

This makes me wonder what wonderful details and plotlines might have been left out.

The story of Alice in Wonderland is a classic that has captured the imaginations of generations.

I can only imagine the rich and vivid world that Lewis Carroll created in the original text.

Reading an abridged version may give a general idea of the story, but it cannot fully convey the depth and complexity of the original.

I hope to have the opportunity to read the original version someday and experience the true magic of Alice's adventures in Wonderland.

I had not read Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland since my childhood.

So, when I discovered the book on Audible plus, performed by Scarlett Johansson, I simply could not resist. Both the book and the narration were truly beautiful.

Alice chases after the White Rabbit and tumbles down the rabbit hole, entering a topsy-turvy world. Here, animals and inanimate objects turn everything upside down and inside out with their outrageous behavior and funky poetry. Every page is filled with an abundance of creativity and imagination. Precocious Alice, so full of whimsy.

The audiobook is accessible from the Audible plus library for subscribers who have a mounting pile of credits and don't know what to do with them. Hahaha, no credits are necessary, and you still might not know what to do with those credits. LOL

Of course, as soon as I finished the book, I immediately started looking for an audio of Through the Looking Glass. However, the narrators I've come across so far have not excited me, so I continue my search. While doing so, I came across an unflattering 2016 review of Johansson's narration from the New York Times. Clearly, the 8K+ rankings of the book by Audible listeners do not agree, and neither do I. I give all (5) stars to both the book and the brilliant narration.

It is difficult to reconcile the author's beautiful books with his rumored predilections. I'm not really sure what to make of it. From what I can tell, Carroll's (Dodgson's) reputation did not seem to be impugned during his lifetime. The fact that it was sullied by scholars long after his death, based on artistic photos, one in particular, and a schism in his previously close ties with Alice Liddell's family (the subject/muse of Alice), makes me uncomfortable, especially when taken out of the context of the period. Victorian concepts of art do not necessarily align with today's ideas of what is acceptable and what is not. I have a lot of thoughts on this subject, but they are fundamentally confused. The photos I've seen are actually beautiful and very artistic. I've never seen the damning one/s, and even those were not described as pornographic or prurient.

I absolutely LOVE Alice. She is truly one of my idols. There is something about her that just speaks to me on a deep level. She is completely fucked up, just like me <3.

Alice's story is one of confusion, adventure, and self-discovery. She tumbles down a rabbit hole into a strange and wonderful world, where nothing is as it seems.

Just like me, she struggles to make sense of the chaos around her. She questions everything and everyone, and in doing so, she discovers a side of herself that she never knew existed.

The images of Alice in Wonderland add to the allure of her character. They show her in all her strange and wonderful glory, with her wide eyes and curious expression.

Alice is a reminder that it's okay to be different, to be fucked up, and to embrace the chaos. She is an inspiration to me, and I will always look up to her as one of my favorite fictional characters.

**"Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: A Timeless Tale of Fantasy and Imagination"**

Alice, a young girl in the prime of her youth, has dreams that soar like birds. The story was inspired by a request from the daughter of Charles Dodgson's friend. He crafted this enchanting tale, a world of magic, illogic, and absurdity, filled with symbols, satire, and humor.

For 152 years, it has been a beloved part of the childhood of children worldwide. It's not just a simple children's story but one full of wonders, layers, and mysteries that challenge a child's mind, making them think and dream, and even bringing a smile to an adult's face as they imagine.

The story begins with Alice sitting by the river with her sister, feeling bored with a book that has no pictures or dialogue. Suddenly, she sees a white rabbit wearing a waistcoat and holding a pocket watch, looking very worried about the time. She follows the rabbit down a hole and enters a strange world.

In this world, everything is topsy-turvy. Alice grows and shrinks, has strange conversations with various creatures, and participates in absurd events like a tea party and a croquet game. The story is full of imaginative characters like the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, and the Queen of Hearts.
As the story progresses, Alice becomes more confident in herself and her ability to respond. She witnesses a trial to determine who stole the Queen of Hearts' tarts. In the end, Alice wakes up by the river, realizing that it was all a dream.
The tale of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" has inspired many artists, including Salvador Dali, who created a series of paintings based on the story. It has also been adapted into numerous movies, cartoons, and TV shows.
In 2010, Disney tried to adapt the story into a more traditional narrative with a single plotline. However, it lacks the charm and absurdity of the original. The best way to experience the story is to read it as it was written by Charles Dodgson, or Lewis Carroll, and let your imagination run wild.
So, pick up a copy of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and embark on a magical journey with Alice. You'll be sure to have a wonderful time.

I was given this edition of Lewis Carroll’s classic novel a while ago.

The gift was related to my love of Tove Jansson’s work, and her illustrations for this are truly marvellous.

But I’d forgotten just how funny and intriguing Carroll’s story could be.

He comments on and pokes fun at the conventions of mainstream children’s books of his era.

At that time, it was a rapidly-expanding genre that reflected shifting concepts of childhood.

It was dominated by work steeped in a less than subtle blend of the didactic and horrifically moralistic, often served up with more than a dash of sentimentality.

Carroll’s nonsense fiction, on the other hand, favours playfulness and disruption.

His writing influenced and anticipated the inventive, iconoclastic work of early 20th-century Dadaists and surrealists.

Even though Alice in Wonderland is, by its very nature, in flight from reality, unlike a number of later similarly dream-like texts, it’s also really engaging.

It’s laced with its own brand of peculiar logic, a bizarre but strangely credible variation on a coming-of-age narrative.

Through her fantastical experiences down the rabbit hole, Alice breaks free from the weight of domestic and family structures.

Alone and continually confronted by her own assumptions about life, as well as grappling with the curious hierarchies observed by Wonderland’s inhabitants, Alice slowly embarks on the process of becoming an individual in her own right.

Tove Jansson’s mix of colour and b/w illustrations originally accompanied a Swedish translation of Carroll published in the mid-sixties.

Eerie and evocative, they’re a wonderful compliment to Carroll’s hugely entertaining text.

It's easy to write this off as a whimsical children's book. The author, Lewis Carroll, is renowned for his vivid imagination.

However, the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who used the penname Lewis Carroll, was a private tutor to three young girls. One of them is believed to be the inspiration for Alice. Carroll would regale them with stories as he taught the children.

Interestingly, there are numerous references to learning in Wonderland, and it's not as nonsensical as the movies might suggest. Now, here's something that might shock the modern mind: Nude pictures of children were quite normal in Carroll's time, and he took many as a photographer.

Some experts think that some of these pictures might have been of Alice, which is rather creepy.

Perhaps it's best to just watch the Disney movie with Johnny Depp. They are, after all, better in some ways.

But still, there's more to the story of Alice in Wonderland than meets the eye.

It's a complex and multi-faceted work that continues to intrigue and fascinate readers and viewers alike.

Whether it's the imaginative world Carroll created or the mysterious aspects of his personal life, there's always something new to discover.

So, the next time you pick up a copy of Alice in Wonderland or watch one of the movies, keep in mind the real story behind the story.

You might be surprised at what you find.

Alice was truly and extremely delusional, and yet, I found myself completely in love with her ❤️. She was just so cute and endearing. I couldn't put the book down and managed to read it in just 2 hours.

It was a captivating read that held my attention from start to finish. The story of Alice and her delusions was both fascinating and entertaining. I was constantly engaged, wondering what she would do or say next.

The author did a great job of creating a character that was both flawed and lovable. Despite her delusions, Alice had a charm and a spirit that made her impossible not to like.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick and enjoyable read. It may not be a literary masterpiece, but it is definitely a fun and engaging story that will leave you with a smile on your face. rtc.
