Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a beloved childhood classic that has captured the imaginations of generations.

The story follows the curious Alice as she tumbles down a rabbit hole and into a strange and wonderful world full of talking animals, mad tea parties, and other absurdities.

The passage I quoted earlier, where Alice converses with the Cheshire Cat, is a perfect example of the book's charm and wit.

The Cat's claim that they are all mad adds to the sense of chaos and unpredictability that pervades Wonderland.

I decided to revisit this classic when I heard that Scarlett Johansson had recorded the audiobook.

As a child, I loved the absurdity of the story and the characters, but as an adult, my perspective has changed.

While I still appreciate the book's creativity and imagination, it doesn't have the same hold on me as it did when I was younger.

Perhaps this is because I have become more jaded and less able to suspend my disbelief.

Or maybe it's just that as we grow older, our tastes change and we are drawn to different types of stories.

Either way, I can still see why Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is such a beloved classic, and I'm glad that I was able to revisit it as an adult.

“'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
'Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: 'we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.'
'How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
'You must be,' said the Cat, 'or you wouldn't have come here.'”

I remember that this was one of the first books I read by myself, and it was at times difficult for a child to understand.

But despite the challenges, I was still captivated by the story and the characters.

I had a thing for the absurd when I was little, and I loved authors like Dahl, Swift, and Carroll.

Their works made me laugh and introduced me to a world of imagination and creativity.

Now that I'm an adult, I don't find the same humor in these books, but I still appreciate the value they hold.

They remind me of a simpler time in my life, when I was free to dream and explore without limitations.

And while my perspective may have changed, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and the other classics that shaped my childhood.

I'm really not sure what exactly I just read. It's such a mystery to me. I can't quite figure out if this piece of writing was some kind of total brilliance, filled with deep and profound ideas that are waiting to be discovered and understood. Or perhaps, on the other hand, it was absolute nonsense, just a jumble of words that didn't make any real sense at all.

Oh well, there's not much I can do about it now. Maybe with more thought and analysis, I'll be able to come to a better conclusion. But for the moment, I'm left in this state of confusion, wondering which way it leans.

It's kind of interesting though, this feeling of not being sure. It makes me think about how often we encounter things in life that we don't fully understand, and how we have to try to make sense of them as best we can.

During the period when schools are closed, Audible offers some free stories for kids. And this particular one is narrated by Scarlett Johansson. I simply couldn't resist listening to it.

The well-known tale of little Alice, who ventures down the rabbit hole and encounters all kinds of strange creatures, is truly a whole lot of nonsense. For some reason, she can't seem to maintain the same size. It's a story filled with chaos and, more often than not, it's just damn funny. It's wonderfully imaginative and a classic for a reason.

The narration by Scarlett Johansson is excellent. She really nails it with all the different voices, bringing the story to life in a captivating way.
