I truly love this book.

However, I must admit that I have no clue what the heck is even going on within its pages.

The story seems to unfold in a rather mysterious and convoluted manner, leaving me constantly guessing and wondering.

Despite this confusion, there is something about the book that keeps pulling me in and making me eager to turn the next page.

Maybe it's the unique writing style, or perhaps it's the captivating characters that I can't quite put my finger on.

Whatever the reason, I find myself completely enamored with this book, even though I have no idea what's actually happening.

It's a strange and wonderful feeling, and I can't wait to see where the story takes me next.

"Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" is a truly remarkable work. It has captivated the hearts and minds of millions around the world. The character of Alice, with her dreamy nature and spirit of adventure, has given people great hope in achieving their wildest dreams. For over a hundred years, it has been a source of joy for countless English readers and a delight for children without limit. Lewis Carroll created strange and almost absurd characters. Their words are completely devoid of any logic, and in their world, madness is the norm. It draws a childlike smile on your lips, but beneath the surface, it holds the most ingenious ideas that can baffle your mind and make you appreciate the simplicity of the complex logic of life. I love all of these characters, each with their own unique world. The Hatter, in particular, has a special place in my heart. Carroll's use of wordplay is extensive and highly creative. It makes you find countless quotes on every page of the story. I wonder if we can truly classify this work as children's literature. If we compare it to other popular children's stories, it would seem to be thrown into a deep well and its mouth closed forever. Lewis Carroll created a wonderful world of imagination. With every line, your world is turned upside down, amazed by the philosophy that fills each page. Escape into his world and roam freely, allowing your imagination to expand to the fullest. With Lewis Carroll, anything is possible.

I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a different person then!

All that you know about movies, cartoons, or illustrated children's stories.

Isn't Lewis Carroll's work something completely different?

The character of Alice has inspired millions of people around the world.

And her spirit of adventure has given them great hope in achieving their dreams.

It has remained a joy for every English reader for over a hundred years.

And a source of delight for countless children.

:::::::::::::

Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.

Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!

Carroll invented strange characters with almost absurd behaviors.

Their words are completely without any logic.

Madness is the accepted system for them.

Madness of ideas, madness of actions, madness of expressions.

In its simplest form, it draws a childlike smile on your lips.

But deep down, it holds the most ingenious ideas that can baffle your mind.

And makes your mind enjoy its ability to simplify the complex logic of life.

I loved it more than anything.

The Cheshire Cat...? The Mad Hatter...? The Hookah-Smoking Caterpillar...? The White Rabbit with the pocket watch who shouts that there's no time...? The playing cards...? The poor King... or the Heartless Queen...? Or Alice herself...?

I loved them all.

I loved each character with its own unique world of solitude and strangeness.

And if the Mad Hatter has taken the biggest place in my heart with each rereading,

then this feeling was confirmed and strengthened after Johnny Depp's amazing embodiment of his character.

:::::::::::::

Begin at the beginning,’ the King said gravely, ‘and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

You used to be much more...muchier. You’ve lost your muchness.

Lewis Carroll relies heavily on wordplay in this masterpiece.

But in an unprecedented way in terms of creativity and wit.

It makes you find countless quotes on every page of the story.

:::::::::::::

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

I wonder if we can really classify this work as children's literature.

I mean, if we compare it to other children's stories, it would end up in a deep well and its mouth would be closed forever.

Because Lewis Carroll created a wonderful world of imagination.

With every line, your world is turned upside down.

Amazed by the philosophy that fills each page.

Escape into his world and roam freely.

Letting your imagination expand to the fullest.

Because with Lewis Carroll, anything can happen.

The picture of the girl Alice who inspired Carroll to create this precious gift.

And if it weren't for her insistence that he write it for her to keep, we wouldn't know of its existence now.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a classic tale that has captured the hearts of readers for generations.

From the very beginning, we are introduced to a bored Alice, sitting by her sister on the bank with nothing to do. Her thoughts about the uselessness of a book without pictures or conversations are both relatable and humorous.

Alice's decision to follow the strange rabbit down the hole leads her on a journey-dream in Wonderland, which can be seen as a metaphor for life. The crazy world she encounters, with its overturned rules of manners and wacky characters, exacerbates the conflict between adults and children.

My daughter had a wonderful time reading this book, and seeing her enjoy it brought me joy as well. The story's multiple keys of interpretation make it a timeless piece that can be enjoyed by readers of all ages.

The Italian translation also captures the essence of the original, with its own unique charm. Whether in English or Italian, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a must-read for anyone looking for a magical and entertaining story.

Why Alice! What Adventures you have had?

Your adventures have been a wild and wonderful mix. There have been moments of pure happiness and fun, like attending the Tea Party. But there have also been perilous situations that had you on the edge of your seat.

Remember that man in a Hat? He was as scatty as a rabid bat. And there was the Mouse, the crazy Hare, and the Twins that were Fat.

There was a Nasty Cook and that Grinning Cheshire Cat. The Catapiller smoking a Hookah and the Mushroom that could make you tall on one side and small on the other were truly strange.

An invitation from a Fishfootman and a very tired Dormouse added to the excitement. And when the Cheshire Cat appeared in a tree, directing you to the March Hare's House, it was both curious and thrilling.

Such fun!!! These adventures will surely stay with you forever.

Lewis Carroll, the pen name of a university mathematics professor, created a remarkable work with "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."

As we follow Alice down the rabbit hole, our own world seems to shrink away. The story is filled with奇幻 adventures that captivate both young and old.

The characters are rich with symbolism, and their words carry a philosophical depth. For example, the caterpillar represents wisdom and the ability to control one's size according to the level of Alice's awareness.

The novel is also filled with humorous discussions that do not lack logic.

Alice has remained a witness to the eternal childhood within each of us for over 150 years.

It teaches us that we must submit to the rules and follow them with awareness and kindness.

Overall, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" is a classic that continues to inspire and amaze readers of all ages.

The article was truly remarkable. It presented a wealth of information and ideas that were both engaging and thought-provoking. The author's writing style was clear and concise, making it easy to follow along. The story itself was filled with interesting characters and events that kept me on the edge of my seat. I found myself completely immersed in the world that the author had created. The audiobook version was also excellent. The narrator did a great job of bringing the story to life with their生动的 voice and perfect pacing. I would highly recommend this article to anyone looking for a great read or listen. It's definitely one that I will be coming back to again and again.

**Alice in Wonderland: A Collector's Tale**

\\n  Update June 2024:\\n Thibault, you're either psychic or have an uncanny sense of timing! You caught me just as I was poring over my latest Alice acquisition. I must update this review. I now own a fourth illustrated edition of this book, a special edition with art by Benjamin Lacombe, one of my favorite illustrators!

So, in total, I own illustrated editions by:
1. Salvador Dalí (my absolute favorite, my precious treasure, my papery baby)
2. Arthur Rackham (a close second, and I had to apologize to it for being bumped from the top spot when I discovered Dalí)
3. Tove Jansson (no true Hobbit lover can do without the edition by the same artist who did the Hobbits so beautifully)
4. Benjamin Lacombe (this man's style is so to my taste that I can't see anything ugly in his work, even when I wasn't overly impressed by his take on Alice that I just bought)

I also own "The Annotated Alice," which would be my fifth. In addition, I plan to add two more gems to my collection: the pop-up version by Robert Sabuda and the 150th Anniversary Edition by David Delamare.

Now, you're probably wondering why I want so many versions. Well, let me tell you! Once upon a time, in a childhood lacking in children's books, "Alice in Wonderland" was the first and only one I had. It was a dual Alice and Peter Pan edition with stunning, colorful illustrations. I've been trying unsuccessfully to find that artist again ever since. I never found that edition again because it didn't have a proper cover!

You see, being the youngest and born decades after the others means that by the time you come along, everything is already in a state of disrepair. The others have already taken the best of everything, leaving you with the scraps. That's how I ended up with one single inherited children's book held together with thread and prayers.

Anyway, that Alice book taught me many things:
- Mushrooms should be looked at with suspicion.
- Decapitation is a real thing (and the source of all my traumas).
- Roses can be painted, but paint can kill them.
- Cheshire smiles are great for unnerving teachers and bullies.
- There's something in the air in England that makes people like Carroll and Barrie not want to grow up to be normal adults.

Fond memories, right? Just don't ask me what Peter Pan taught me.

I had no intention of revisiting Wonderland anytime soon, but when I saw this edition illustrated by Salvador Dalí, I couldn't resist! The dreamlike weirdness of Alice's world fits Dalí's style perfectly. It's like they were made for each other. However, I don't think Dalí was at his absolute best here. Some of the illustrations were a bit underwhelming. I think it's because he's a painter, not an illustrator. He does his best work when he's free to create as he pleases, not when he's being prompted by a text.

Maybe he was just having an off day. Regardless, the final product is still good, and I'm awarding it 3.5 stars, rounded up to four.

What a classic indeed!

I read this book so many years ago that I had a strong desire to take a closer look at it once again. To be honest, it was actually a tea caddy with a quote from this novel that inspired me to embark on this re-reading journey.

Well, Alice's marvelous adventures will never grow old. There are so many wonderful characters she encounters along the way. The Cheshire cat with its mysterious grin and the Mad Hatter with his eccentric behavior are truly unforgettable. The allusions and the memorable settings add to the charm of the story. It's a lovely book, a bit strange perhaps, but filled with humor and situations that I still cherish as much as I did when I was a kid.

Today, I view the book from a different perspective. I can now appreciate the irony and the hidden wisdom within the story. Nevertheless, I still thoroughly enjoyed my trip back in time. As the King said gravely, "Begin at the beginning, and go on till you come to the end." You should also follow this advice when reading this real classic. It is highly recommended.

Well, look,

This was truly a whimsical and fun experience, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I must admit that it probably took me way longer than it should have to complete it, but that's okay.

I found myself getting lost in the details and savoring every moment.

As for a longer review, it may come eventually. There are so many aspects that I could explore further, such as the unique characters, the engaging plot, and the beautiful illustrations.

However, for now, I'll just leave it at this and say that it was a great read that brought a smile to my face.

Twinkle twinkle little bat
Among all the fairy tales, this is my favorite. It is astonishing, fantastical, adventurous, bloodless, and without a moral. It doesn't aim to impart a life lesson to the little protagonist; it's a dream. The fact that it's not a moralistic story stems from the fact that it's not a traditional fairy tale reworked like those that are somewhat similar across Europe, which make children atone for the pleasure of the story by inculcating sacred but boring teachings. It's a completely invented story, produced by the imagination of Lewis Carroll, inspired by the three Liddell girls while rowing on the Thames. The Reverend Dogson, a mathematician and professor at Christchurch College, was the author behind the pseudonym.
While Snow White accepts an apple from the unknown old woman and gets poisoned, Alice, the intrepid one, plunges headfirst into a rabbit hole without a second thought, drinks from a bottle found by chance with a catastrophic effect, eats cookies found around, enters other people's houses without being invited and destroys them, albeit involuntarily. She's a real mischief-maker and has the sympathy of both the young reader and the mature but honest reader. She cheekily answers adults, whether they are mad hatters, duchesses, or queens. The playful spirit of Lewis Carroll is manifested in a whirlwind of word games that are fully appreciated when reading the book in the original language (which is very easy as it's written in simple English). The little poems in the text echo the Victorian rhymes that mean nothing to the Italian reader.
Looking back in time, I remember accompanying Alice as she slowly floats in the void, looking around and seeing sideboards, shelves, maps: it's the entrance into the world of dreams, as every child accustomed to falling and scraping their knees with astonishing speed knows. I also really liked the Cheshire cat with its purple and brown striped livery in Walt Disney's representation, while it smokes the hookah on the mushroom.
It's amusing that in the Victorian era of proverbial morality, the upper bourgeoisie found it normal for an adult man to love the company of girls and photograph them with pleasure, with unusually serious little faces. Now, such a relationship would seem impossible without ulterior motives.
Anyway, entertaining the girls has produced a book of extraordinary imaginative power, for me a psychedelic masterpiece for both big and small, worthy of the seventies.
