Among the numerous aspects that I relish in Lois Lowry's writing is her remarkable ability to seize the raw and unadulterated human feelings and emotions, encompassing both the positive and the negative, and then transcribe them within a creative fictional narrative.
Gossamer, without a doubt, did not let me down in this regard. Although I am reluctant to add spoilers, I feel it would be prudent to mention that the book endeavors to fictionally depict the origin and purpose of the world of dreams and nightmares. In and of itself, the book is by no means religious. However, I found myself delving into an analysis of the story within the realm of spiritual and psychological combat, where individuals are compelled to make choices between good and evil while being subliminally influenced by angelic and demonic realities. I am extremely curious to know what the author herself thinks about this.
Nevertheless, be that as it may, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I firmly believe that it may offer hope and a sense of healing to some, while presenting an enjoyable and entertaining read to others, regardless of their age or beliefs. It is a book that has the potential to touch the hearts and minds of a wide range of readers and leave a lasting impression.
