This book had a profound impact on me some years ago, leading me onto a rather open-minded path. I'm truly glad that I took the time to read it, as it has indeed made me a more creative and confident individual.

Nevertheless, when it comes to lucid dreaming, its effect on me was somewhat limited. As it turns out, lucid dreaming is no easy feat and requires a serious commitment. In fact, it demands a significant amount of sleep, initially around 8 - 10 hours a night.

It's rather ironic that this book, which purports to enrich your life, actually requires you to spend such a large portion of it asleep. It makes one wonder if the trade-off is truly worth it.

Despite this, I still value the other aspects of personal growth that the book has brought me, and I continue to explore the concept of lucid dreaming with a sense of curiosity and determination.

This is a fascinating subject, and the book is well written.

It provides lots of details on how to bring about lucid dreams.

However, it didn't work especially well for me.

Nonetheless, I am having a few lucid dreams from time to time.

It's really weird and intriguing stuff.

I found myself wanting more out of the book.

But then again, what else is there to say?

The book is solid and practical, devoid of any pseudo mystical nonsense.

It offers useful techniques and strategies that can be applied by those interested in exploring the world of lucid dreaming.

Even though it didn't have an immediate and profound impact on my own experiences, it has still piqued my curiosity and made me more aware of the possibilities within the realm of our dreams.

Overall, it's a worthwhile read for anyone who is fascinated by the concept of lucid dreaming and wants to learn more about how to achieve it.

The year is 2010. I find myself spending a significant amount of my time on lucid dreaming forums.

Here, dreamers from all over the world come together to share their techniques, document their dream journals, and even have the wild idea of meeting up on the moon within the dream realm.

Little did I realize at that time, but everything I was learning and uncovering about lucid dreaming could be traced back to the remarkable research of Stephen LaBerge.

Terms such as WILDs (Wake-Initiated Lucid Dreams), MILDs (Mnemonic-Induced Lucid Dreams), and DILDs (Dream-Initiated Lucid Dreams) - all of these, along with most of the methods I had heard of for achieving and maintaining lucidity, had their roots in LaBerge's work.

It was truly a great experience to get a refresher in lucid dreaming methods directly from the source, or at least the modern Western source.

This encounter reaffirmed my strong desire to explore and read "The Tibetan Yogas of Sleep and Dreaming" to gain a perspective that was less Western and more in line with a different cultural and spiritual approach.

The writing style of LaBerge's work can sometimes be a bit on the wacky side. For instance, at one point he claims that we may have the ability to physically heal ourselves within the dream state.

Well, who knows? Maybe he's onto something! After all, he was right about so many other aspects of lucid dreaming.

The human mind is an incredibly fascinating subject. It operates in two distinct states: waking reality and asleep.

In the waking state, our minds are constantly processing a vast amount of information from our senses. We are aware of our surroundings, make decisions, and interact with the world around us. The mind is also capable of complex thought, creativity, and problem-solving.

When we are asleep, our minds enter a different realm. Dreams occur, which can be vivid and sometimes strange. Scientists believe that dreams play an important role in memory consolidation and emotional processing.

Understanding how the mind works in both waking and sleeping states is crucial for understanding human behavior, consciousness, and mental health. By studying the mind, we can gain insights into how we learn, remember, and make sense of the world.

In conclusion, the mind is a remarkable and mysterious organ that continues to intrigue scientists and researchers. There is still much we have to learn about its inner workings, but with each new discovery, we come closer to unlocking the secrets of the human mind.

Very good book!

Not enough people are aware of the tremendous benefits that lucid dreaming can bring. This remarkable book has effectively taught me the art of controlling my dreams and acting out any scenario I desire. It is truly the natural form of virtual reality, and the only limit is one's imagination.

Lucid dreaming offers a unique opportunity to explore the depths of our subconscious minds and experience things that are otherwise impossible in the waking world. With the techniques and strategies presented in this book, I have been able to take control of my dreams and turn them into a playground for my creativity and self-discovery.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in exploring the fascinating world of lucid dreaming and unlocking the hidden potential of their minds.

Those who are fully prepared and confident in their abilities don't necessarily have to read this particular book or engage in overly complicated exercises. On the other hand, those who lack self-belief and are constantly filled with fear will likely never experience a lucid dream, no matter how much effort they put in.

Based on my personal experience, lucid dreaming has the power to completely transform your perspective on existence. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities and insights. Once you have had a lucid dream, the effects are truly irreversible. It changes the way you view your dreams, your subconscious mind, and even your waking life.

It makes you more aware of the power of your own mind and gives you a sense of control and empowerment. You start to look at the world around you in a different light and question the nature of reality itself. Lucid dreaming is not just a fascinating phenomenon, but also a profound and life-changing experience.

I have been engaged in the practice of keeping a dream journal for a number of years. However, I haven't achieved a great deal of progress in deciphering the meaning of my dreams. I have long desired to approach the realm of dreams with a greater degree of awareness. Fortunately, this book presents some outstanding concepts regarding how to leverage our nighttime sleep hours to enhance our health and happiness, as well as how to direct our dreams.

I frequently grapple with recurrent nightmares, and I am hopeful that these novel skills will prove beneficial in alleviating them.

I was particularly intrigued by the chapters that discuss rehearsing new skills or personality traits within our dreams that we aim to modify and then carry over into our real lives.

As the text states, "We tend to attempt only what we believe we are capable of doing, which is typically less than our actual potential. Lucid dreaming offers us a means of expanding our belief in our own capabilities: we can safely experiment with new behaviors while dreaming, and the resulting increase in self-confidence will facilitate the implementation of the same behaviors in our waking lives."

Additionally, the development of lucid dreaming skills has the potential to assist us in living more purposefully, with a greater focus on happiness and the pursuit of pleasure.

It is noted that "The healthiest individuals appear to be those who relish pleasure, actively seek it out, and create it for themselves. By learning to have lucid dreams, you open up for yourself a boundless amusement park filled with all the delights you can envision. Admission is complimentary, and there are no queues."

Although this book is not the easiest to read, by taking it in small increments, I am able to assimilate the information. I am eager to utilize the exercises for practice within the dreamscape. It promises to be an engaging project!

I feel like I might have to update this review in the future, and I’ll explain why.

The first half of the content is truly interesting. It provides real and practical suggestions on how to have a lucid dream. The techniques mentioned have actually worked for me, although so far it's only happened 1 out of 10 nights. What's more, these techniques are firmly grounded in vigorous scientific research, which gives them a certain degree of credibility.

However, the second half makes inception seem like a documentary. The way some of the dream stories are presented is so fantastical that it's almost unbelievable. It's possible that these stories are true, but their extremity makes me skeptical.

Of course, maybe if I continue to practice the lucid dreaming techniques and start building whole worlds in my dreams, I'll have to update this review. I'm looking forward to seeing if my experiences will change and if I'll have a different perspective on the content. Only time will tell.
