However, I only gave it two stars. The reason is that it's centered around a sportscaster who makes numerous sports references and such.

I found it extremely tiresome and uninteresting. In fact, I hated it with a passion.

My husband managed to persuade me to read this book.

To be honest, it's truly hilarious, especially for those who have a passion for sports.

Nevertheless, I did have some concerns regarding his portrayal in the book.

He tries to come across as just an ordinary guy with kids, struggling to get by on a daily basis.

But the reality is quite different. He has a housekeeper to take care of the household chores, a lawn boy to maintain the lawn, he wears $200 jeans, John Varvatos sweaters, and drives a BMW.

So, in my opinion, and for most of the two-kid American families out there, he's really not a regular guy at all.

His lifestyle and possessions set him apart from the average person.

It makes me wonder if his attempts to seem relatable are just a facade.

Overall, while the book was entertaining, this aspect of it left me with some mixed feelings.

After reading the book by Mike and Mike, my mother, who is a nonreader but slowly seems to be on the way to becoming a reader, ordered this from the library and then passed it on to me.

She found that it made her like Mike Greenburg a little less. I think his sense of whimsy and sarcastic tone can be lost on some people.

The parts where he spends time with his kids are magically written and will surely be great memories for his kids forever. However, some of his other adventures, where we hear about times he got too drunk or made an idiot of himself, don't add anything significant and don't present him in a favorable light.
