Another book unfinished... *sigh*.

At the beginning, it didn't seem bad at all. The story had an interesting premise that caught my attention. However, as I continued reading, my mind started to wander.

After just a couple of pages, I found myself skipping some sections. I just couldn't seem to focus on the words on the page.

I think I need to put this book aside for now and wait until I am in a different state of mind. Maybe then I will be able to read it properly and give it the attention it deserves.

It's a shame because I really wanted to like this book, but sometimes our minds just aren't in the right place for certain reads. I'm sure I'll come back to it eventually and give it another chance.

Jamie, cautious by nature, finds herself in a battle to safeguard her heart. As they embark on this passionate journey, both will inevitably undergo changes. They fall head over heels for each other, and their relationship quickly progresses into the bedroom. This story explores the complex emotions and experiences that come with love, lust, and the unexpected twists and turns of fate.

Jack's thoughts constantly revolved around Jamie in a rather carnal way.

"Sweet. Yeah, that was her. Hell, he was just thirty seconds away from taking her in the elevator," he would think.

When it came to his woman, he wasn't above groveling. "Then let me see you," he pleaded.

Aware that he was starting to sound like a stubborn five-year-old, he changed his tone and let his voice drop. "I miss you, Jamie. My bed was so damn lonely without you last night."

Sometimes his thoughts could be forceful. "He would love her, damn it, and she'd learn to like it."

Jack had the amazing ability to bring humor to any situation, and I truly mean ANY.

"Jack was tripping his pants off in front of her, his erection springing up, 'Ahoy, matey,' he said, making her laugh."

I really liked this book. There was humor and there was Jack. What more could you ask for?

It was a combination that made the story both entertaining and engaging.

The way Jack's thoughts and actions were described added a layer of depth and excitement to the narrative.

Whether it was his carnal desires, his groveling, or his humorous antics, Jack was a character that kept the reader hooked from start to finish.

A fun, relaxing, and truly enjoyable read awaits you. I found myself quite taken with the characters and the engaging story line. The personalities of the characters were well-developed, with their unique humor, emotions, and dialog adding depth to the narrative.

Most of this book was really good. However, I have to admit that I didn't completely get pulled in, and there were a few spots where I was completely exasperated with Jamie. Hello... there was a double standard between mom and Jack, which was really not cool.

Overall, I did enjoy reading this book, although I most likely won't read it again. Nevertheless, I wouldn't mind delving into the rest of the series to see what unfolds for the other girls. I was definitely sensing something interesting with the cousin at the end. That would make for a really good book. It's perfect for passing the time, relaxing, or simply having something to read.
