I first delved into the prequel and was truly impressed. It left such a favorable impression on me that I'm now seriously considering reading the entire series.

"The Perfect Assassin" by Ward Larsen, which is the first installment featuring Israeli Kidon David Slaton, is a refreshing departure from many other books in the genre. It offers a captivating and highly entertaining read.

The story is filled with non-stop action, heart-pounding betrayals, and thrilling espionage. It keeps the reader on the edge of their seat from start to finish.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to all fans of action and espionage. In fact, I'm so eager to continue the story that I'll be picking up the second book shortly. I can't wait to see what adventures and challenges await David Slaton in the next installment.

I'm confident that the rest of the series will be just as engaging and exciting as the first book. It's definitely a series that's worth investing your time in.

I will do a few reviews on Barnes and Noble tomorrow. As I promised to do when I finished the book, since it was given to me for free.

Currently, it is on sale for 99 cents, and it was a great book. Ward Larsen really knows his stuff. The description of the Scotland Yard, the Mossad, and the Arab groups seemed extremely accurate.

The main character is well-portrayed, and the heroine is mostly believable.

The happy ending is nice, but perhaps it's just a bit too perfect. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. However, if you are a thriller fan, you could definitely do a lot worse. I really loved the Scotland Yard chief character, and I hope he shows up again in another novel. The author has said that he won't be doing another book about the main character, David Slayton. That makes sense to me as well.

Go ahead and spend the money to get either the ebook or the paper copy. The ebook is the one that costs under a buck.

This book initially got off to an extremely slow start.

There were a plethora of characters introduced right from the beginning, and it took an inordinate amount of time to figure out what was actually happening. At least, that was the case for me.

However, things started to pick up in the second half of the book. I'm truly glad that I persevered and stuck with it.

I find myself wishing that I had more in-depth knowledge about Israel, Palestine, and the Arabian countries. This would enable me to follow the events and storylines more closely and understand the context and significance of what was unfolding.

Despite the slow beginning, the latter part of the book managed to capture my attention and make me appreciate the overall narrative.

When a young and determined doctor named Christine Palmer embarks on a solo sailing adventure across the vast Atlantic Ocean, little does she expect the encounter that awaits her.

As she is sailing along, she suddenly discovers a man clinging precariously to the edge of her boat. The moment their eyes meet, Christine senses that there is more to this man's desperation than meets the eye.

It turns out that the man is a highly trained assassin, one of the most skilled and deadly in the world. Now, both Christine and the assassin find themselves in a perilous situation, facing immense danger at every turn.

I have always had a deep love for a great assassin story. In fact, I even featured a deadly assassin in my second Marko Zorn thriller, HEAD SHOT. And this particular story about Christine and the assassin is no exception. It has all the elements of a thrilling and heart-pounding adventure that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

The combination of the isolated setting of the Atlantic Ocean and the presence of a dangerous assassin creates a sense of tension and suspense that is truly palpable. As the story unfolds, we are drawn into the lives of Christine and the assassin, and we can't help but wonder what will happen next.

Will they be able to escape the clutches of danger and find a way to survive? Or will they fall victim to the forces that are pursuing them? Only time will tell in this exciting and action-packed tale.

A Pretty Generically Solid 3-Star Book

David Slaton, a "kidon" - a specially trained Israeli assassin, is aboard a boat safeguarding a secret cache of nuclear weapons. Suddenly, something goes awry and he is flung overboard. Fortunately, he is rescued by Christine Palmer, an American doctor sailing solo in the Atlantic. Slaton now has a daunting task ahead. He must locate the stolen weapons, expose a massive conspiracy, and clear his own name. Meanwhile, Christine is faced with a dilemma of her own. She needs to determine if she loves Slaton or hates him, and understand why she keeps coming to his aid even after he sets her free.

The action in this book is rather good. I appreciate the fact that the police attempting to apprehend Slaton are actually competent. The story doesn't seem overly farfetched either. However, overall, it is somehow average. There are no real stand-out moments or elements that make it truly exceptional. It's a decent read, but not one that will leave a lasting impression.

Perhaps with a bit more depth in the character development or a more unique plot twist, this book could have been elevated to a higher level. As it stands, it's a solid 3-star effort that will likely satisfy readers looking for a straightforward action thriller.

This book, “The Perfect Assassin,” initially wouldn't have been my top choice for reading. The espionage and political undertones simply don't pique my interest. However, Ward Larsen's introduction of a female character, Christine, completely changed my perspective. Her ability to capture the heart of a hardened assassin added a unique and captivating element to the story.

From the moment Christine entered the scene, I found myself increasingly engaged. I couldn't help but wonder how her presence would impact the assassin and what kind of relationship would develop between them. The author did an excellent job of building tension and keeping me on the edge of my seat.

As the story progressed, I became more invested in the characters and their fates. I eagerly turned the pages, desperate to see how it would all end. Would Christine be able to change the assassin's ways? Or would their relationship ultimately lead to disaster? The uncertainty kept me hooked until the very last page.

In conclusion, although “The Perfect Assassin” may not have been my initial choice, the addition of Christine as a central character made it a truly engaging and enjoyable read. I'm glad I gave it a chance and would highly recommend it to others.

Excellent Adventure of a Mossad Assassin

This is the very first book I have delved into by this particular author, and I am firmly resolved to explore the other installments in this captivating series. It presents a truly outstanding criminal chase that is replete with numerous twists and turns. We are introduced to a kidon, a Mossad assassin, not as a cold and emotionless killing machine, but as a human being with feelings and needs just like any other. There is an intriguing twist when it comes to the fate of his wife and child. Years ago, his superiors had told him that they were killed in a certain way, but now it seems that the story may have been quite different. It's a fascinating narrative as the Israeli people, especially those within the Mossad, appear to have many forces working against their true professions, with fellow workers being targeted. The Americans are just one group attempting to straighten out the convoluted story, all while a peace signing is being set up. This book is an excellent choice if you have a penchant for the works of Tom Clancy, Mark Dawson, and the like.

A fair thriller that features an Israeli assassin and is related to Bourne themes offers an exciting and engaging narrative. The story likely follows the adventures and challenges of the assassin as they navigate a complex web of secrets, danger, and political intrigue.

With elements similar to the Bourne series, viewers can expect intense action sequences, thrilling chases, and a protagonist who is highly skilled and resourceful. The Israeli assassin may bring a unique perspective and set of skills to the story, adding an extra layer of interest and authenticity.

The movie or book might explore themes such as identity, loyalty, and the consequences of one's actions. It could also delve into the world of international espionage and the shadowy organizations that operate behind the scenes. Overall, a fair thriller with an Israeli assassin related to Bourne themes has the potential to be a gripping and entertaining experience for fans of the genre.

A lack of in-depth research into the British characters and their unique ways of speaking and expressing themselves is quite evident. Expressions like "shift stick" and "Chief of Police" seem out of place and don't quite fit the British context. This deficiency makes it extremely difficult for me to believe in the elements of the story that I wasn't already familiar with.

When combined with the barely believable characters, it becomes even more of a struggle. For instance, the American doctor is not only supposed to be beautiful but also highly intelligent and an accomplished ocean-going seawoman. It all seems a bit too perfect and unrealistic.

Adding to this is a thin and cheesy plot that fails to engage and hold my interest. As a result, I managed to get only as far as 38% on the Kindle before deciding to metaphorically toss the book into the charity shop in the ether. This book is simply not for me.

This book has a good premise for a story.

It seems to have the potential to be an exciting and engaging read. However, the pacing of the story dragged at times.

The plot didn't progress as quickly as it could have, which made it a bit of a struggle to stay fully invested in the narrative.

Despite this drawback, the book still has its merits.

The characters are well-developed and the setting is interesting.

The author, Ward Larsen, has clearly put a lot of thought into creating this world and the people who inhabit it.

Overall, while the book had its flaws, it was still an enjoyable read.

If you're a fan of thrillers and don't mind a slower pace at times, then you might want to give "The Perfect Assassin (David Slaton #1)" a try.

A good thriller indeed!

It masterfully lays the groundwork for what I can only imagine will be an amazing continuation of the series.

Not only did I find the main story highly interesting, with its complex web of a years-long conspiracy revolving around false flag operations, but it also introduced a truly badass main character, Israeli Mossad Kidon David Slaton.

The way the story unfolds, keeping you on the edge of your seat, is truly captivating.

David Slaton's character is well-developed, with his skills, determination, and mysterious past adding an extra layer of intrigue.

I was completely hooked from the very beginning and couldn't put the book down.

Now, I'm definitely eager to check out the rest of the series and see where the story takes us next.

I have a feeling it's going to be an unforgettable ride.
