Normally, my husband is inclined towards reading and listening to science fiction books. So, when he recommended that I read a book which was the first in a series he had thoroughly enjoyed, I was rather taken aback. That was until I delved into "The Perfect Assassin", the initial installment of the David Slaton series.

I believe that if I inform you that I am currently on the fourth book of this series of novels centered around the Israeli Kidon or Assassin, you can surmise that I am a devoted fan.

David Slaton quite literally stumbles into the life of a young and plucky American doctor as she sails her father's yacht back to the US. She is completely befuddled by this mysterious new passenger and is extremely cautious about his intentions. As the plot thickens and becomes more intricate, she finds herself irresistibly drawn into the secretive and perilous world that he inhabits. Simultaneously, she grapples with a burgeoning attraction.

If you have a penchant for action and intrigue, you will be richly rewarded. However, the pièce de résistance of this book and the rest of the series that I have read thus far lies in the caliber of the writing. There is no superfluous clutter in the form of needless dialogue or trivia. You are on a mission right beside David Slaton, and it is executed with surgical precision and accuracy. I am not one who relishes wanton killing merely for the sake of shock value. Thankfully, while David Slaton appears coldly efficient when required to dispatch the enemies of his own and other nations, he also has a heart. Against all odds, he is willing to fight for someone who has touched that heart.

Superior to James Bond, I was overjoyed to read that "The Perfect Assassin" is going to be adapted into a film. It's brilliant, and I'm certain that it will spawn a series of films based on the outstanding writing and a thrilling, action-packed storyline. I still have a few more books in the series to devour, but I have already lined them up along with Ward Larsen's other novels and series.

It is available in print, on Kindle, and if you are a member of Audible, it is free with their trial. Without a doubt, this is one not to be missed.

I'm an avid enthusiast of David Slaton, a character from the recently premiered top-notch action thrillers penned by Ward Larsen. It was inevitable that I would journey back in time to peruse the debut of The Kidon, the lethal Ex-Mossad assassin known to us as David Slaton. And it is truly magnificent!

The Perfect Assassin introduces David Slaton as an assassin who is left for dead by traitors within the Mossad. These traitors have a diabolical plan to sabotage peace talks between Arab nations and Israel by stealing nuclear weapons with unknown targets. The only snag in their scheme? Slaton survives the treachery. David Slaton then teams up with Dr. Christine Palmer, who crosses paths with him and becomes embroiled when the malevolent group responsible for the nuclear weapons theft comes after both Slaton and Palmer to tie up all loose ends. This concocts an extremely captivating and fast-paced action thriller narrative, where Slaton's combat and tactical expertise is showcased as befitting the title, "The Perfect Assassin".

The action sequences are crafted with precise and concise details of weaponry and equipment, which augments the gritty and down-to-earth ambiance of the story. There is no question, just from this book, that David Slaton is one of the most badass characters ever created. Kicking a guy so forcefully that his neck snaps is just one instance of Slaton's lethality.

Another outstanding aspect of The Perfect Assassin is the emphasis on the meticulous nature of David Slaton as he eludes the authorities who are unjustly pursuing him. His tactical foresight is laudable as he sets in motion intricate and convoluted plans to throw his pursuers off his scent and exact his vengeance on those who wronged him. I've only encountered this level of sheer brilliance in a handful of characters, such as Tom Wood's Victor and Jackal from Day of The Jackal.

The narrative also makes it personal for David Slaton as we learn about the tragedy that led him to become a calculated killer, and this thread unfolds throughout the book with a shocking twist at the end. I also relished the chemistry between Slaton and Palmer. Both characters are written with traits and charms that make it natural for readers to cheer for them to be together. Palmer is the anchor for Slaton to remain tethered to the light in a world of darkness, and this is beautifully depicted by the author.

There is a diverse range of characters directly involved in the narrative, whether they are politicians, spymasters, detectives, or police officials, all of whom set the stage for Slaton to make his stand. It's a gripping thriller and the start of a series that rivals the best in the genre. I highly recommend this book to be read without delay and to be introduced to the outstanding David Slaton.

This book was truly a page turner.

Imagine this: an innocent woman finds herself in a situation where she saves the life of the perfect assassin. But here's the twist - it turns out he is an honorable man. Suddenly, she is yanked into a world filled with danger and uncertainty.

She must now make hasty decisions about who she can truly trust. The story doesn't stop there.

An intricate plot unfolds rapidly, involving players and governments from all corners of the world.

The question that looms large is: can the heroine manage to save the assassin's life a second time? And perhaps, just perhaps, prevent another war from erupting in the Middle East?

This book keeps you on the edge of your seat, eager to find out what happens next.
