Another Women of the Underworld book from Kelley Armstrong has arrived, and this time the spotlight is on Jaime Vegas. She is a popular spiritualist whose stage shows, where she claims to contact the departed, delight audiences. However, what the people don't know is that Jaime is actually a necromancer, with the ability to communicate with and, in some cases, raise the dead.

She has been invited to co-star in a television production where three well-known spiritualists will attempt to contact the ghost of Marilyn Monroe. The fact that two of the three performers are frauds means nothing to the Hollywood types who are out to make a fortune from the show.

When Jaime moves into the house leased by the production company for filming, she discovers that there are actual ghosts in the garden who are desperate for her attention. But she can't communicate with them and doesn't know who they are. Jaime turns to her werewolf crush, Jeremy Danvers, for help in solving the mystery of the trapped spirits and helping them find peace. Together, they uncover a truly evil group of people who are determined to gain supernatural powers through human sacrifice.

I found Jaime's necromancy power far more engaging than the werewolf books that Armstrong seems so enamored with. Jaime is very human and down to earth, in contrast to the super strong and aggressive werewolves. Jeremy, on the other hand, is an exceptional wolf who relies more on his intellect than his brawn, although he is not averse to using his strength when necessary.

The combination of the necromancer and the werewolf makes for an excellent team, and they manage to expose the unspeakable evil being committed at the expense of innocent lives.

This was a fun read, if not a literary masterpiece. Armstrong creates interesting and fully developed characters with their own motivations and desires. I will definitely continue to pick up the books in this series and enjoy the paranormal creatures that inhabit them.

Yes! Finally! After 4 long years, Jeremy and Jaime got together! And to make up for all the lost time, they did it with a

Who would have known that Mr. Cool and Under Control Jeremy had such a wild and sexy side?

I have to give credit to Armstrong. She created a perfect chemistry between those two. It was a pleasure to read and definitely worth the wait. I was glad to learn more about Jeremy. He was always a bit of a mystery, and Jamie is just the kind of woman to break his quiet reserve. She was always one of my favorites in the series, and it's a shame she only got one book.

However, what I didn't like was the part about Jamie and filming her TV show. I found it a little bit distracting as it took me away from the main plot and her relationship with Jeremy, which left me wanting more.

It wasn't my favorite of the series, but I still really enjoyed it. Considering the tension between those two was building for a long time, I felt like there wasn't enough Jeremy/Jaime scenes. I'm hoping to see more of them in the future. Definitely a recommended read.

This story had its highs and lows. The romance between Jeremy and Jaime was the highlight, but the subplot about Jamie's TV show could have been better integrated. Overall, it was an enjoyable read that left me looking forward to more from this series.

Kelley Armstrong has an inherent talent for storytelling, and while she always manages to captivate her readers, some of her stories are truly more engaging than others.

In this particular installment set in the enchanting world of Otherworld, Jamie steps into the spotlight. The plot is well-crafted and holds the reader's attention from start to finish. The pacing is恰到好处, allowing the story to unfold at a comfortable yet exciting rhythm.

Some of the scenes are deeply moving, tugging at the heartstrings and evoking strong emotions. However, it must be noted that this book doesn't quite have the standalone quality that some readers might prefer. Instead, it feels more like an episode in a beloved series, where a charming but relatively minor character finally gets their moment to shine.

While it does add depth to our understanding of Otherworld and offers some interesting and enjoyable insights into the series as a whole, it ultimately feels more like a light snack rather than a substantial meal. Nevertheless, if you're in the mood for something light-hearted and enjoyable, this book can be a fun read.

This is the seventh book in the Women of the Otherworld series, and it holds a special place as the first and only book narrated by Jaime Vegas. Jaime, the necromancer introduced in previous books, has a unique perspective on the supernatural world. She knows a thing or two about showbiz, and when she's on a television shoot in Los Angeles, strange things begin to occur.

As a woman with the ability to raise the dead, Jaime's tolerance for weirdness is high. She's used to seeing and hearing the dead, but this time is different. Invisible hands brush her skin, unintelligible whispers fill her ears, and strange beings lurk at the corner of her eye. For the first time in her life, she truly understands what it means to be haunted.

Determined to get to the bottom of these manifestations, Jaime sets out on an investigation that will prove to be far scarier than she ever imagined. As she delves into the dark underside of Los Angeles, she realizes that ordinary humans will stop at nothing to gain supernatural powers. With the help of her personal angel, Eve, and the chaos demon, Hope, Jaime must navigate this dangerous world and solve the mystery before it's too late.

I was excited to read a book with Jaime as the protagonist and narrator. Her character is both fascinating and complex, and I love the way Kelley Armstrong weaves together the lore of necromancers with the reality of the show-business industry. The main setting of Los Angeles adds an extra layer of intrigue, and I appreciate the international feel that Armstrong brings to the series by focusing on different female supernatural beings in different cities across the world.

Overall, while I may not have found the main plot to be the most interesting or compelling in the series, I still enjoyed this book for its exploration of Jaime's character and the mythology of the Otherworld. I'm sad that this is the only book with Jaime as the narrator, but I would highly recommend it to fans of the series.

No Humans Involved is the sole installment in the Otherworld series spotlighting Jaime Vega, making it a great standalone read. Jaime, a necromancer, has capitalized on her magical gift to communicate with the dead and achieved a measure of minor celebrity status. At the age of 40, she lands a job as one of three spiritualists attempting to raise the ghost of Marilyn Monroe for a reality TV show. Unlike her two co-stars, Jaime is the real deal when it comes to being a ghost whisperer.

Jaime isn't a heartless fraud. The filming of the Marilyn Monroe show requires the three mediums and the crew to stay in a house in Los Angeles. Jaime senses the presence of spirits in the backyard gardens, and her motivation to act kicks in when she realizes these spirits are children. As a delegate, Jaime can access the resources of the interracial council of supernatural beings, which comes in handy as she has long had an interest in fellow representative Jeremy Danvers, the werewolf alpha. Calm and composed Jeremy has accepted Jaime's invitation to visit her during the show's filming.

Jaime needs all the help she can get as it appears that child sacrifices were part of a black magic ritual. Although she can talk to the dead, she lacks the super strength and senses that other supernatural beings possess. Clearly, someone is not afraid to kill. I found No Humans Involved to be an enjoyable read. It's refreshing to have a supernatural protagonist who is physically vulnerable and a bit older than the typical 20-something. Jeremy has been a secondary character in the four other novels featuring werewolf Elena, and I liked getting a peek into his thoughts as he is even more taciturn than Clay, his foster son and Elena's significant other. The mystery isn't earth-shattering, but since this book falls under the urban fantasy genre, it's acceptable. And it's mysterious enough to justify the cameo appearances of characters from earlier Otherworld novels.

Stars are one of the most fascinating objects in the universe. They come in various sizes, colors, and temperatures.

Some stars are as small as our planet Earth, while others are many times larger than the Sun. The color of a star depends on its temperature, with hotter stars appearing blue or white and cooler stars looking red or orange.

Stars are formed from clouds of gas and dust in space. Over time, the gravitational force within the cloud causes it to collapse and heat up, eventually igniting nuclear fusion reactions at its core. This is what makes a star shine.

Stars have different life cycles depending on their mass. Smaller stars like our Sun will eventually run out of fuel and become a white dwarf. Larger stars, on the other hand, may end their lives in a spectacular supernova explosion, leaving behind a neutron star or a black hole.

Studying stars helps us understand the evolution of the universe and our place in it. Astronomers use powerful telescopes and other instruments to observe stars and learn more about their properties and behavior.

In conclusion, stars are truly remarkable objects that continue to captivate our imagination and inspire scientific research.

I have an intense love for this book. It is truly a remarkable piece of work that I will most definitely be rereading in the future.

Jaime is one of the main characters, and I have a deep affection for her. What I love about Jaime is her unwavering bravery. She is not afraid to face the unknown and is always ready to take on challenges.

Another aspect that makes Jaime so interesting is that she is a medium. She has the unique ability to see ghosts and communicate with them. This adds an extra layer of mystery and excitement to the story.

I remember feeling so bad for Jaime when she encountered a ghost that refused to leave until she listened to its story. It was a touching and emotional moment that really tugged at my heartstrings.

I also love how Jaime goes to Jeremy for help. Their relationship develops throughout the book, and it is beautiful to see how they support each other and work together to solve the mysteries.

In the end, everything works out for the better, and Jaime and Jeremy form a wonderful relationship. This book was absolutely amazing from start to finish. It kept me on the edge of my seat and left me with a sense of satisfaction. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery or a touching romance. 5 stars!

I've read most, if not all, of Armstrong's "Women of the Otherworld" series.

The series initially centered around Elena, a strong yet conflicted woman who is the sole female to have survived becoming a werewolf. Since then, Armstrong has introduced numerous characters such as witches, werewolves, vampires, half-demons, warlocks, and necromancers.

In this book, all of her many characters get at least a chapter, despite it supposedly being about Jaime Vegas, who can see and control the dead, and her boyfriend, the Alpha of the werewolves. Armstrong periodically remembers that Jaime is meant to be the main character, but mostly she serves as a means to bring in Paige, Eve, Elena, Hope, and others.

The plot, involving a group of humans killing children and using their ashes for magic, had the potential to be interesting. However, so much time is dedicated to rehashing the events of the other books and recounting the tales of the other Women of the Otherworld that there is little room left for the actual story.

Jaime is a fairly good character, but her romance with Jeremy failed to engage me, and all the scenes where she was portrayed as oh so sexy felt very contrived. I believe this might mark the end of my relationship with Armstrong.

I plunged into this book with ridiculously high expectations and, for once, they all were met, leaving me utterly satisfied, staring at the last sentence with a huge grin on my face.

No Humans Involved is a truly fantastic read. It boasts an engaging plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The cruel villain adds an element of danger and excitement, while the fast pace ensures that you never get bored. The butt-kicking action scenes are thrilling, and the hilarious dialogue provides much-needed comic relief. The amazing romance between the characters is heartwarming, and the lovable characters themselves make you fall in love with them.

First of all, there's Jaime and Jeremy. Really, do I even need to say more? They've had my heart since that balcony scene in Paige's book. I've somehow managed to make it through all the teasers in the next books without jumping straight to their story. I adore Jaime. I simply love her to bits. She's very different from the other otherworld women. She doesn't have Elena's physical strength, Paige's spells, or Eve's butt-kicking abilities. All she can do is talk to ghosts, which she thinks isn't really helpful in a troublesome situation. And seeing as Jaime is one awe-inspiring trouble magnet in a constant need of being saved, it's no wonder she feels rather pathetic. Having a huge crush on one sexy alpha werewolf for four years doesn't help at all. And then there's said alpha... The damn man is almost thrice my age, yet he manages to melt me every single time he appears in the story. It's ridiculous! But if before he was only an attractive, unbelievably dense, caring gentleman able to take care of any problem, in this book he shows a whole new side. Let's just say no woman can resist a man like Jeremy. Who would have thought that the owner of Stonehaven can be such a tease? Together with one naughty Ms Vegas, they make quite a pair. There is nothing I dislike about them, absolutely nothing. They are adults, they are responsible, they are rational, they know the risks, and they don't take chances. But maybe it's time to finally start taking them...

Another great thing is the appearance of some old characters and the introduction of some new ones. There are sneaky peeks into Clay and Elena's parental life, the chaos of the Cortez household, the hilarious adorableness of Eve and Kris, and the tantalizing new couple, Hope and Karl. The chemistry between the two promises one very interesting, funny, witty, and sarcastic book, packed with action and mystery, of course.

And then there's the plot. Armstrong really did it this time. I can't say much since anything will be too spoilery, but I loved every single detail of it. The villain is ruthless and cold, the victims make my heart ache, and the setting is perfect. The combination of Jaime's Hollywood life and her paranormal one really makes it all work together. Not only is the poor woman forced to work with the nasty people of the TV world, but she also has to solve a vicious crime involving ghosts and zombies. It can't get any more awesome, it just can't.

As difficult as it may have originally been for me, I do appreciate the concept of various stories with different main characters.

Each book is presented from a different point of view (PoV), which offers a more comprehensive depiction of the author's lore.

This approach allows for a multi-faceted exploration of the fictional world, revealing different aspects and perspectives that might otherwise remain hidden.

It does not mean that I enjoy all of the books equally. I am, in fact, biased towards those that portray some of my favorite characters more prominently.

Nonetheless, it is interesting to give all of them a chance and wait to see how the narrative bounces from one character to another.

Watching the characters grow and develop throughout the series is a fascinating experience, as their stories intertwine and influence each other.

Overall, this method of storytelling adds depth and complexity to the fictional universe, making it a more engaging and immersive experience for the reader.

This volume is much better than the previous two even though, in the end, they all start to look alike (narrative pattern).

Hopefully, in the next volume, Hope (whom we get to know here) will be in charge alongside Lucas!

The story seems to have a certain formula that is becoming a bit repetitive, but this volume still manages to stand out.

The character of Hope brings a new dynamic to the mix, and it will be interesting to see how her relationship with Lucas develops.

Perhaps the next volume will break free from the established pattern and offer something truly fresh and exciting.

We can only wait and see, but for now, this volume is a solid addition to the series.
