I’m really not quite certain how I should rate this particular book.

During the initial one-third of it, I found myself extremely frustrated with the plot. It seemed rather convoluted and hard to follow.

However, as I delved deeper into the story, I began to understand a great deal of what the author was attempting to do in order to capture the reader’s attention.

One aspect that I truly loved was the Christian references that were scattered all throughout the book. They added an interesting layer of depth and meaning.

Overall, this book is definitely one of the oddest ones I’ve come across, yet it is also one of the most fascinating.

The absolute best part, without a doubt, was reading this book alongside my 9-year-old son. We had some great discussions and it was a wonderful bonding experience. :)

It’s a book that I will likely remember for a long time to come.

I truly liked this book.

It was extremely well written, and I really love the fact that I was capable of conjuring up the vivid scenery and the distinct characters in my mind.

The author is highly descriptive, which makes the reading experience all the more immersive.

However, there were some odd language usages that didn't quite make sense to me.

The characters spoke a different version of English, and I am assuming that it was more prevalent in the era when the books were written.

Despite this minor drawback, I thought the book (it was actually all three books combined in one) was very well done.

I am truly glad that I have finally taken the time to read it.

It has provided me with a great deal of enjoyment and has allowed me to explore a different world and time period through the eyes of the author.

I would highly recommend this book to others who enjoy well-written literature and are interested in learning about different eras and cultures.

While this particular genre is not my typical go-to, I found myself completely immersed in the captivating story of Meg and her arduous journey to find her father and bring him back home. The storyline is straightforward enough that even a skeptic like myself could easily follow along. The characters, for the most part, are incredibly realistic and have been developed with great care and detail.

I would highly recommend this book to both young adults and middle grade readers. I received my copy from my daughter, who had read it during her middle school years. She was shocked to discover that I, a retired middle-high school English/Language Arts teacher, had never had the opportunity to read this wonderful piece of literature.

It is truly a gem that offers valuable lessons and an engaging narrative that will keep readers of all ages on the edge of their seats. I am so glad that my daughter introduced me to this book, and I will definitely be sharing it with others in the future.

**"A Wrinkle in Time and A Wind in the Door: Captivating Tales"**

"A Wrinkle in Time" is a wonderfully odd classic. Madeleine L’engle masterfully combines fantasy, math, and science to create an incredible and interesting story. It takes readers on a journey that is both mind-bending and full of wonder. The unique blend of elements makes this book a standout.
"A Wind in the Door" is equally charming. It is cute, different, weird, and odd, all in a great way. The author uses complicated words to create an engaging wordplay that keeps readers hooked. The story maintains the same vibe as the first book, which is a great accomplishment. The new creatures and characters added are sure to be loved by readers. They bring a fresh and exciting element to the story.
Both of these books are must-reads for anyone who loves fantasy and adventure. They offer a unique and captivating reading experience that will leave you wanting more.

There is one of the children's books that simply isn't timeless. It's the kind of book that you should really read while you're still a child. Otherwise, when you grow up and look back at it, you'll think it's just awful. I truly feel sad that I missed out on this opportunity. I wonder what kind of magical experiences and emotions I could have had if I had read it during my childhood. Maybe it would have opened up a whole new world of imagination for me. But now, it seems like that chance has passed, and I can only look at it with a sense of longing and regret. It makes me realize how important it is to cherish those precious childhood moments and the books that come with them.

I rated the three books individually, so I won't really bother to do that here.

I will say that the three-star rating is just the average of the ratings for the three individual books.

I will also say that I bought this a number of years ago because people gush about A Wrinkle in Time and I thought it would be a good addition to my personal library.

However, after having finished the trilogy, I don't feel that way anymore.

In fact, I'd rather have the vacated space on my bookshelf put to better use.

Maybe my expectations were too high, or perhaps the story didn't resonate with me as much as I thought it would.

Either way, I can't help but feel a bit disappointed.

But that's okay. Reading is a subjective experience, and what works for one person may not work for another.

I'll continue to explore different books and authors, hoping to find those hidden gems that will truly capture my imagination.

I vividly remember having a deep love for this story when I was a teenager, which was a number of decades ago. It is truly a remarkable and wonderful classic. However, when reading it in the 21st century, the entire experience has undergone a transformation. The technological advancements and the changing social context have perhaps influenced the way we perceive and understand the story. Despite these changes, it still holds a certain charm and appeal. I would highly recommend this story to fans of Hitchhiker's Guide and Ender's Game. Those who enjoy the unique blend of science fiction, adventure, and thought-provoking concepts in those works are likely to find great pleasure in this classic as well. It offers a different perspective and a journey into a world that is both familiar and yet full of surprises.

This review focuses on the physical book itself. The rating given here is the same as my rating for book one of this trilogy, "A Wrinkle in Time", which earns four stars. You can find my reviews of the individual stories in the entries for each book.

I read this as a trilogy consisting of the first three books of the Time Quintet. I read these books as a kid and they have stayed with me ever since.

This edition, I believe, I purchased at a Barnes and Noble as part of their series of hardcover books that are priced at around twenty dollars each. I really like the cover design. On the back cover, who I assume are Meg and Calvin are in one color, while Charles Wallace is a lovely shade of blue. The pages are tipped with gold leaf, and although several had to be gently separated at the top, they were not so delicate that the pages were in danger of being ripped. There is also a built-in bookmark in the book.

At first, I was a bit annoyed that books four and five were not included to provide the entire story in one volume. However, after reading, I realized that the three books follow an overall arc, and it would not have been possible to include two more books without either shrinking the type or making the book so large that it would be difficult to carry. So, I have the next two books in trade paperback and have not read them yet.

If you are looking for a commemorative edition of this classic, I would recommend this one, especially if you have read the last two books and can do without them in this volume. In fact, if it weren't for this edition, for someone who doesn't own any of her books, I would simply suggest getting "A Wrinkle in Time". Since I do have this edition, I plan to keep it.

This is a truly great children's classic that contains some profound philosophical and spiritual messages.

It is not only suitable for children but also holds great value for adults. Reading or rereading this book would be a wonderful experience for anyone.

Currently, it is being adapted into a movie, which has piqued my interest. I am eager to see how the filmmakers will translate the essence and charm of the book onto the big screen.

Will they be able to capture the depth of the philosophical and spiritual themes? How will they bring the characters to life? These are all questions that I am looking forward to having answered when the movie is released.

I believe that this movie has the potential to be a great success, as long as the filmmakers stay true to the spirit of the original book.

The books handle the topics on everyone's mind in the 1960's brilliantly.

They offer a unique perspective on the era, delving into the social, cultural, and political issues that were prevalent at that time.

Most interesting to me was book #3. It took an unexpected turn by advancing 3 of the 4 children to adulthood and making the oldest pregnant.

This is a rather bold and unconventional move for a children's book.

It challenges the traditional expectations and norms associated with children's literature and presents a more complex and realistic portrayal of life.

The author's decision to explore these themes adds depth and authenticity to the story, making it not only engaging but also thought-provoking.

Overall, these books are a remarkable achievement and a must-read for anyone interested in the 1960's or in children's literature that dares to break the mold.

The most comforting re-read.

Queen Madeleine l’Engle forever. Her works have always been a source of inspiration and solace for me.

Whenever I pick up one of her books, I am immediately transported into a world of magic, mystery, and deep emotions.

The characters she creates are so vivid and real that I feel as if I know them personally.

The stories she tells are not only entertaining but also thought-provoking, making me reflect on life, love, and the meaning of it all.

Madeleine l’Engle’s writing style is unique and captivating, with a beautiful use of language that draws me in from the very first page.

Her books are like old friends that I can always turn to when I need a little bit of comfort and inspiration.

I will continue to re-read her works for years to come, and I am grateful to have discovered such a talented and wonderful author.

Queen Madeleine l’Engle will always hold a special place in my heart.

This is truly an excellent read that captivates the reader from start to finish.

The characters in the story are incredibly strong and well-developed, each with their own unique personalities and motives.

Not only that, but the message conveyed throughout the book is both powerful and thought-provoking.

It's hard to believe that I missed out on this gem as a child.

Looking back, I realize what a great opportunity I passed up.

However, better late than never, and I'm so glad that I finally discovered this wonderful piece of literature.

It has truly left a lasting impression on me and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great read.

Whether you're a child or an adult, this book has something for everyone.

So don't make the same mistake I did and pick up this book today!
