"El mundo nace cuando dos se besan." This beautiful and profound statement holds a wealth of meaning. It implies that a simple act of love and connection, such as a kiss between two people, has the power to create something new and wonderful. It suggests that love has the ability to bring about a transformation, not only in the lives of the individuals involved but also in the world around them.

When two people come together in a kiss, it is as if time stands still and the world around them fades away. In that moment, they are completely focused on each other, sharing a moment of intimacy and connection. This connection can be so powerful that it has the potential to inspire them to create something beautiful, to make a positive difference in the world, or to simply bring more love and happiness into their own lives.

Perhaps the idea that the world is born when two people kiss is a reminder that love is the most powerful force in the universe. It has the ability to overcome hatred, division, and conflict, and to bring people together in a spirit of unity and harmony. So, the next time you share a kiss with someone you love, remember the power that lies within that simple act and the potential it has to create a better world.

The best Greek translation of this wonderful poem. It was included in the - unfortunately - exhausted abridged edition of all the Writings of Giorgos B. Markopoulos, which was circulating from the editions of Estia. A significant book.

I hope to see it again soon on our shelves.

This poem holds a special charm and its translation into Greek has managed to capture its essence. The abridged edition, although now exhausted, had a great impact.

It is a pity that it is no longer readily available. However, the hope remains that it will be reprinted and once again grace our bookshelves.

The work of Giorgos B. Markopoulos is highly regarded, and this particular poem is a gem within his collection.

We eagerly await its return so that we can once again沉浸 in its beauty and appreciate the artistry of the poet.

Until then, we can only cherish the memories of having read this excellent translation and look forward to the day when it is back in circulation.

"Sun Stone" is an intricate and profound poem that delves deep into the Aztec calendar, spirituality, and the cyclical essence of time.

In this remarkable work, Paz undertakes an exploration of the multiple layers that构成 Mexican identity and history. He employs the image of the sun stone, an ancient Aztec artifact of great significance, as a powerful metaphor for the seamless fusion of the past and the present, as well as life and death.

He engages in profound contemplation of the cosmic forces that are constantly at play in the vast universe. Additionally, he ponders over the human's unceasing quest for meaning and connection within the immensity of existence.

The poem abounds with rich symbolism and highly evocative language. It extends an invitation to readers, urging them to reflect upon the mysteries of life and the intricate interplay between light and darkness, creation and destruction.

It challenges us to look beyond the surface and discover the hidden depths and connections that lie within our own lives and the world around us.

At first, it was overwhelming because of the dual language set up.

I felt as if I was lost in a maze, not knowing which way to turn.

However, with time and perseverance, I am now dipping into sunstone as a pen into ink.

It is as if I have found a magical key that unlocks the door to a world of beautiful characters.

I am writing those characters on the parchment of my mind, creating a story that is unique and beautiful.

Please explore with me, for he exists as all the emotions of the universe simultaneously.

He is the joy, the sorrow, the love, and the hate.

He is the light in the darkness and the hope in the despair.

Let us journey together and discover the mysteries that lie within.

Because my thoughts are flowing: a scattered jumble from the sleepy port.

This description seems to suggest a state of mind that is perhaps a bit disorganized or in a state of flux. The "scattered jumble" implies a lack of clear order or direction, while the mention of the "sleepy port" gives a sense of a place that is quiet and perhaps a bit dreamy.

It could be that the author is feeling a bit lost or confused, or perhaps they are simply in a state of reflection. Either way, this short phrase manages to convey a complex and evocative image that leaves the reader with a sense of mystery and curiosity.

We can only wonder what lies beneath the surface of these scattered thoughts and what the author will do with them next.

This is the second book I have read by Octavio Paz, and my task became clear with his poetry:

I don't see a special beauty in poetry that is filled with a plethora of scattered images!

The title of metaphysical poetry and these words seem absurd to me.

I would rather have the almost same bottles of Szymborska.

In a hurry, I only liked this one poem:

_

Title

With great pain, with a fingernail's progress in a year,

I strike a notch in the stony heart.

Thousands upon thousands of years,

I have worn down my teeth and broken my nails

towards another pattern, towards light, towards free air and freedom.

And now that my hands are bleeding

and my teeth are crumbling in my gums,

in the darkness, I grope blindly, from weariness and dust, from work I raise my hand

and look at my work:

I have spent the second half of my life breaking stones, penetrating walls,

overturning doors and putting aside obstacles

that in the first half of my life

I had placed between myself and the light.

Time is a precious and intangible concept that governs our lives.

It passes by relentlessly, never waiting for anyone.

We often take time for granted, not realizing how quickly it can slip away.

Every moment is an opportunity to make a difference, to learn something new, or to spend quality time with loved ones.

However, in the hustle and bustle of modern life, we often find ourselves rushed and stressed, with little time to stop and appreciate the present.

We should make an effort to manage our time more effectively, setting goals and priorities and making the most of every available minute.

By doing so, we can ensure that we live a fulfilling and meaningful life, making the most of the time that we have been given.

Time is a limited resource, and it is up to us to use it wisely.

Let us not waste another moment, but instead, make the most of every precious second.

I am not really certain about how to review this particular work. Octavio Paz is truly a word-genius. His lines inundate your senses and cause you to breathe a little more profoundly.

“... it's still the first night, and the first day,
the world is born when two people kiss,
a drop of light from transparent juices,
the room cracks half-open like a fruit,
or explodes in silence like a star ...”

'Sunstone' is a remarkable 584-line, single-sentence poem that, in my perspective, delves into the concepts of love, identity, eternity, the interconnectedness of the universe, the power that governs time, and the sheer magnificence of being alive.

I have read it three times already, yet I feel as if I am just commencing to absorb the essence of what is transpiring. Moreover, I sense that I will still be uncovering new joys to relish even on my thirtieth reread. And, of course, the mystery, or the almost-realizing, is an integral part of the pleasure.

In a similar vein to the finest works of Neruda, this is the kind of writing that has the power to make a reader fall headlong in love with poetry, or to remind him or her of the very reason why they loved poetry in the first place. In fact, the most challenging aspect of reading this is attempting not to be overly distracted by the exquisitely beautiful imagery and metaphors. These are the kinds of lines that can make you set down the book in a daze and spend the subsequent several minutes in dreamy contemplation or in remembrance.

“... you fly like a thousand birds, and your laugh
is like the spray of the sea, your head
is a star between my hands, the world
grows green again when you smile,
eating an orange ...”

The hands they extended were the ones that had created them;

but they were afraid of the feet that could destroy them.

...

And the people of the city never suspected that the feet and hands

were nothing but the two ends of a single divine pickaxe.

This passage presents a rather mysterious and thought-provoking scenario. The idea of hands that create and feet that have the power to destroy is an interesting contrast. It makes one wonder about the nature of creation and destruction, and how they are intertwined. The people in the city seem oblivious to the true nature of the hands and feet, perhaps symbolizing their lack of awareness or understanding of the deeper forces at play. The mention of the "divine pickaxe" adds an element of the supernatural or spiritual, suggesting that there is a greater purpose or plan behind these seemingly ordinary body parts. Overall, this passage leaves the reader with much to contemplate and imagine.

Poems that exist within oneself, the ontology of the poet, poetically philosophize.

These poems are like hidden treasures, waiting to be discovered and explored. They hold the essence of the poet's thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

Paz...

Madrid, 1937. In the Plaza del Ángel, the women were engaged in sewing, their voices joining with those of their children in song.

Then, suddenly, the wail of sirens pierced the air, followed by the terrifying screams. Houses crumbled to their knees in the dust, towers cracked, and facades seemed to spit out debris. The hurricane drone of the engines filled the sky.

In the midst of this chaos, the two lovers took off their clothes and made love. They did so to safeguard our portion of all that is eternal, to defend our allotment of paradise and time. They sought to touch their roots, to rescue themselves from the turmoil. They aimed to reclaim the inheritance that had been stolen from us by the thieves of life centuries ago.

The two lovers took off their clothes and kissed passionately. Because when two bodies, naked and entwined, they transcend time. They are invulnerable, impervious to the horrors that surround them. Nothing can touch them as they return to the source, where there is no you, no I, no tomorrow, no yesterday, no names. There is only the truth of two beings merged into a single body, a single soul. Oh, the total being...
