Now, silence after silence offers itself.

It is as if the world has come to a standstill, and all that can be heard is the sound of one's own breathing.

The stillness is palpable, and it seems to seep into every pore, filling one with a sense of calm and tranquility.

In this moment of silence, one can truly listen to the whispers of one's own heart, and reflect on the past, present, and future.

It is a time to let go of all the distractions and纷扰 of the world, and simply be.

Silence has a power all its own, and it can heal, inspire, and transform.

So, let us embrace the silence, and allow it to work its magic within us.

For in the stillness, we may find the answers we have been seeking all along.

Now I am a lake.

A woman bends over me, her eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and longing as she searches my deep reaches for what she truly is.

Then, seemingly dissatisfied, she turns away from me and towards those liars, the candles or the moon, which offer a false reflection.

I watch as she does so, seeing only her back, but I still reflect it faithfully.

Sometimes, she rewards me with tears that ripple my surface and an agitation of hands that betray her inner turmoil.

I know I am important to her, for she comes and goes, returning day after day.

Each morning, it is her face that replaces the darkness, emerging from the depths as if from a long slumber.

In me, she has drowned a young girl, her youthful dreams and hopes fading away. And in me, an old woman rises toward her day after day, like a terrible fish, carrying the weight of years and experiences.

The cycle continues, and I remain a silent witness to her journey of self-discovery and transformation.

Reading Sylvia Plath for the first time was an absolute revelation.

Her words in "The Zoo Keeper's Wife" are both vivid and disturbing.

She describes a scene in the Small Mammal House where wolf-headed bats hang from scorched hooks in the moist fug.

The armadillo dozes in its sandbin, looking obscene and bald like a pig.

The white mice multiply infinitely, out of sheer boredom, like angels on a pinhead.

Tangled in the sweat-wet sheets, the narrator remembers the bloodied chicks and quartered rabbits.

Plath's ability to create such a powerful and evocative image is truly remarkable.

Her writing is both beautiful and terrifying, and it leaves a lasting impression on the reader.

It makes one wonder about the darker side of human nature and the violence that exists within us all.

Reading her work is like taking a journey into the unknown, and it's an experience that I will never forget.

This felt extremely flat.

To be honest, I had a really hard time getting through it. There were some parts that I couldn't even decipher at all.

Unfortunately, I didn't connect with this book. For poetry to have an impact on me, I have to establish a connection with it, at least from time to time.

However, that didn't occur here. It's a pity because I was hoping to find something meaningful and engaging in the poetry. But instead, it just left me feeling disappointed and uninterested.

I'm not sure if it's because of the writing style or my own personal preferences, but whatever the reason, this book just didn't work for me.

Maybe I'll give it another try in the future, but for now, I'm moving on to other things.

“It is comfortable, for a change, to mean so little.” This thought crossed my mind as I was painting my nails black. I think Sylvia would have wanted it this way. There's something about the color black that gives off an air of mystery and elegance. As I carefully applied the polish, I couldn't help but reflect on the words I had just read. It made me wonder if sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves to mean something significant. Maybe it's okay to just be and let things unfold naturally.

Among my favorites are "Love Letter," "Two Campers in Cloud Country," "Who," and "Witch Burning." Each of these pieces holds a special place in my heart. "Love Letter" evokes a sense of romance and longing, while "Two Campers in Cloud Country" takes me on a journey to a magical and dreamy place. "Who" makes me question my identity and the nature of existence, and "Witch Burning" is a powerful and thought-provoking piece that delves into themes of persecution and injustice.

These favorites of mine have the ability to transport me to different worlds and make me feel a range of emotions. They are like little treasures that I can always turn to when I need a moment of inspiration or escape.

The word "Mirror" really stood out to me the most. It seemed to have a certain allure and significance that the other words simply didn't possess.

Perhaps it was the way it could reflect not only our physical appearance but also our inner selves. A mirror has the power to show us our true nature, both the beautiful and the flawed.

It can be a tool for self-reflection and growth, allowing us to see where we need to improve and where we shine.

While the other words may have their own meanings and importance, "Mirror" held a special place in my mind. It made me think about how we perceive ourselves and how we present ourselves to the world.

It also made me realize the importance of being honest with ourselves and facing our true selves, no matter what.

In conclusion, "Mirror" was the word that had the greatest impact on me, and it will continue to be a word that I will think about and reflect on in the future.

Re-reading this after five years has been an absolute treat.

I find myself completely immersed in Sylvia Plath's words, as if wrapped tightly in cotton. Her poetry has an undeniable power that speaks volumes to me.

This anthology is truly triumphant, filled with some of her more humble yet strikingly beautiful pieces. I have a particular fondness for poems like "Heavy Women," "Stillborn," "Blackberrying," and "Sleep in the Mojave Desert."

Their expressions, longings, and gorgeous imagery make them truly ceremonial. Each word seems to be carefully chosen, painting a vivid picture in my mind and evoking a range of emotions.

Sylvia Plath's poetry is a gift that keeps on giving, and I am grateful for the opportunity to experience it once again.
