I could cry just thinking about Emily Dickinson's herbarium :,)

It is truly a remarkable and precious piece of history. Emily Dickinson, a renowned poet, had a deep love for nature, and her herbarium is a testament to that. The carefully preserved plants within it tell a story of her keen observation and connection to the natural world. Each specimen is a work of art in its own right, and together they form a beautiful collection.

Thinking about her herbarium makes me imagine the hours she spent collecting and pressing these plants, the care she took in labeling them, and the joy she must have felt in creating this unique record. It also makes me sad to think that such a wonderful piece of her life's work could be lost or forgotten. We should cherish and protect it for future generations to study and appreciate.

The herbarium is not just a collection of plants; it is a window into Emily Dickinson's mind and soul. It gives us a better understanding of her as a person and as a poet. It shows us her love for the beauty and simplicity of nature, and her ability to find inspiration in the smallest of things.

In conclusion, Emily Dickinson's herbarium is a treasure that should be celebrated and preserved. It is a reminder of the importance of nature in our lives, and of the power of art and science to capture and preserve its beauty.

I really like the delicacy and the emotion that Emily puts into each and every one of the poems in this anthology. Although sometimes they may not be so clear, they contain an extremely remarkable sensitivity. Her words seem to dance on the page, creating a world of their own. Each poem is like a little treasure chest, waiting to be opened and explored. The way she uses language to convey her thoughts and feelings is truly amazing. It's as if she has a special gift for expressing the inexpressible. Whether it's a simple observation or a deep and profound emotion, Emily manages to capture it with such finesse and grace. Reading her poems is like going on a journey through her heart and soul, and it's a journey that I always look forward to taking.

Solo estoy siendo muy sáfica, pero que maravilla.

It's truly amazing how I can just be so safe here.

The precious illustrations add a touch of magic to this place.

There is so much hongo, and it seems to be everywhere, giving a unique charm.

The abundance of green is like a refreshing blanket that covers everything.

It's all so much a part of me, as if this is a world that was made just for my enjoyment.

I can't help but feel a sense of peace and contentment in this environment.

The combination of the beautiful illustrations, the hongo, and the greenery creates a truly enchanting atmosphere.

It's a place where I can let go of all my worries and just soak in the wonder.

I am so grateful to have found this little haven.

Will there really be a "Morning"?

Is there such a thing as "Day"?

Could I see it from the mountains

If I were as tall as they?

This poem presents a series of thought-provoking questions. The speaker wonders about the existence of a definite "Morning" and "Day". They imagine if being as tall as the mountains would allow them to have a better view of these concepts.

Has it feet like Water lilies?

Has it feathers like a Bird?

Is it brought from famous countries

Of which I have never heard?

The poet further speculates about the nature of "Morning" and "Day". They compare it to the characteristics of water lilies and birds, and even question if it comes from some unknown and famous countries.

Oh some Scholar! Oh some Sailor!

Oh some Wise Men from the skies!

Please to tell a little Pilgrim

Where the place called "Morning" lies!

Finally, the speaker pleads with scholars, sailors, and wise men from the skies to enlighten them and tell them where the place called "Morning" can be found. This poem showcases the poet's curiosity and wonder about the mysteries of the world. It makes the reader reflect on the nature of time and the different ways we perceive it.

Probably my favourite poem from the collection.

Uma das poetisas mais influentes e acarinhadas,

apresenta uma aventura artistico-botânica que é tão apaixonada quanto improvável. “Poetry, like science, draws not only those who make it but also those who understand and appreciate it.”

The result is an elegy to time, composed with passionate patience, emanating the same vigilance for sensuality and mortality that marks the poetry of Dickinson.

This poetess, through her unique artistic vision and botanical exploration, creates a world that is both enchanting and profound. Her works are like delicate flowers blooming in the garden of literature, attracting readers with their beauty and fragrance.

Just as science uncovers the mysteries of the natural world, her poetry delves into the depths of human emotions and the passage of time. It is a journey of discovery and self-reflection, inviting us to contemplate the fleeting nature of life and the永恒的 power of art.

Her words have the ability to touch our hearts and souls, leaving an indelible mark on our minds. Through her poetry, we can experience the beauty and sadness of life, and gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
