This book, "Forever" by Karen Kingsbury, is a part of the Firstborn and Baxter Family Drama series. It's a paperback with 346 pages. I gave it a 3-star rating.
My favorite character is John Baxter. He brings a sense of wisdom and stability to the story. On the other hand, my least favorite characters are Luke and Dayne. In this book, they come across as very petty, which really annoyed me at times.
The mini-review: Overall, this was a pretty good book. It had its moments that made me a bit frustrated, especially when it came to Luke and Dayne. However, I really liked the aspect of everyone coming together as a community. It felt like something that God would smile upon. But I also had some issues with the ending. It seemed a bit too perfect, with everyone getting a miracle and living happily ever after. In reality, being a Christian doesn't mean life is all easy and without challenges. You're often more of a target. But despite that, the book was still good.
The fan-cast: I have some ideas for who could play the characters in a movie adaptation. Katy Hart could be played by Sophia Bush, Dayne Matthews by Diego Klattenhoff, Ashley Baxter-Blake by Brittany Snow, and so on. Each actor I've chosen seems to fit the character's description and personality well. I think it would be interesting to see these characters come to life on the big screen with these actors in the roles.
