This one was a little tougher to read.

Not that it was overly sad, it just seemed to drag on and on.

I truly love Katy and Dayne.

I am well aware that the next few books will continue their story, but I can't help but think that they have already endured enough trauma.

They have been through so much heartache and pain.

I long to see something finally go in Katy's favor without all the unnecessary drama.

She deserves a break, a moment of happiness and success without any complications.

It would be nice to see her achieve her goals and find true love and fulfillment.

Maybe in the next book, the author will give Katy the break she deserves and let her shine.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens next in their story.

I have a profound affection for this conclusion of the Firstborn series.

The ending is truly a tearjerker that has the power to tug at the heartstrings.

It brings a sense of finality and closure to the story, yet at the same time, it leaves the readers with a mix of emotions.

The author has masterfully crafted this conclusion, making it a memorable and impactful experience.

The characters have come a long way throughout the series, and their journey reaches a culmination in this final installment.

The events that unfold are both heartwarming and heart-wrenching, and the readers are left on the edge of their seats until the very end.

This conclusion is a fitting tribute to the entire Firstborn series and will surely be cherished by fans for a long time to come.

Things are progressing extremely well. Katy and Dayne are engaged and are in the process of purchasing property in Bloomington, which includes a house on the Lake. Now, he travels back and forth between Bloomington and LA via a private jet, ensuring that the paparazzi are unable to tail him.

However, that fateful breakfast with Randi changes everything. The paparazzi are in full force, following them down the freeway. Tragically, a crash occurs, sending Dayne to the hospital with his life hanging in the balance. The scenes描绘 Katy's hospital stay before Dayne emerges from his coma are both tense and tender.

The Baxter family has been exposed by the paparazzi, and their children's dirt is splashed across the magazines. But Ashley rallies the family and some community members to rebuild the house on the Lake, hoping it will be ready for Dayne and Katy if he recovers in time for Thanksgiving.

Dayne doubts that the Baxter family will welcome him into their circle after the negative magazine articles. Luke also has less than complimentary things to say about his brother. Nevertheless, he promises Katy to go to Bloomington for Thanksgiving and give it one last try.

Then comes the surprise - when they see what everyone has done to rebuild their house, they are overcome with emotion. They do spend the Thanksgiving holiday with the Baxter family, and Dayne is warmly welcomed by all. What a remarkable series this has been. I devoured the last book in a single day. The author truly captivated me. I loved all the references to God, praying, and listening for answers. Now, a new series continues the story of everyone, and I'm off to the library to check out those books. I'm a die-hard fan!

3.5 stars.

I firmly believe that this final book in the Firstborn series is the absolute best among the five. One of the main reasons for this is that it neatly ties up some of the rather slow-moving storylines that have been running throughout the series. It's like finally getting all the pieces of a puzzle to fit together, which gives a sense of satisfaction.

I also found the way it ended to be truly enjoyable. It felt completely in line with the larger Baxter series, maintaining the same tone and style that fans have come to love.

As is to be expected in a Baxter book, there is indeed a new tragedy. In this case, it's yet another car accident. This particular one leaves a main character in a coma with very little hope of recovery. As I've mentioned previously, this family seems to be a magnet for tragedies, and it seems that the worst is still yet to come.

This book is the one that made me develop an irreversible dislike for the character Luke Baxter. Now, every time I reread this series, I'm aware of what's going to happen, and I can never bring myself to like him. He's just such a jerk.

Now, it's time to move on to the Sunrise series to continue the captivating Baxter saga.

I have a deep affection for the way Karen Kingsbury presents more accounts of God's restorative power. It is truly remarkable to see how He performs miracles in the most apparently desperate circumstances. God's words, such as "Wait on Me... Be still and know that I am God," hold profound significance.

These are indeed extremely powerful words.

"Wait for the Lord. Be strong and take heart, and wait for the Lord." (Psalm 27:14)

"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalm 46:10)

And here is an additional one (one of my absolute favorites!): "The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still." (Exodus 14:14)

Kingsbury's stories not only touch our hearts but also remind us of the importance of waiting patiently on the Lord and trusting in His plan. Through her works, we are able to witness the amazing ways in which God intervenes and brings about healing and restoration. It is a beautiful reminder that no matter how difficult our situation may seem, God is always there, working behind the scenes, and will ultimately bring about a positive outcome.

We should all strive to be still and listen to God's voice, trusting that He will lead us on the right path and fight our battles for us.

Okay, it’s been several days since I read this book and now I want to write my thoughts about the series in general.

As a whole, I liked the storyline. It was engaging and fun to read. Yes, it was dragged out a bit, but I still found it enjoyable. It built suspense, which kept me turning the pages.

One of my favorite parts of this novel was how Luke and Reagan had a lot to work through. As a perfectionist, I could really relate to the way that life after big mistakes affected them both. It showed that even when things don’t go as planned, it’s possible to find joy and move forward. That part was really nice and gave me hope.

However, there were some aspects that I didn’t like as much. Katy and Dayne fall in love way too quickly. Their love seems forced and doesn’t make much sense. It’s not realistic how they just instantly know they’re in love. This is a common issue in Karen Kingsbury books, where the characters’ relationships develop too fast and you’re left wondering why.

In addition to that, the depiction of guys in these stories is very unhelpful. They are all portrayed as tall, strapping, handsome, and willing to do anything for the women they love. They can read their emotions perfectly and always know the right thing to say. But this is not how real life is. Not every man is like that, and it sets up unrealistic expectations for readers.

Finally, the biggest issue I have with Christian fiction is that everyone’s problems get fixed too easily. While I appreciate the encouragement and hope that these books give, it’s not always realistic. In real life, things don’t always work out the way we want them to. There should be more teachings about how to love and honor Christ even in the midst of困难 and suffering.

Overall, I think these books are worth reading, but you have to take them with a grain of salt and be aware of their flaws. They can provide some entertainment and inspiration, but they shouldn’t be taken as a completely accurate portrayal of life.

One of my favorites.

I wholeheartedly recommend this series to anyone who is in need of a tangible idea of how Christ works in our lives. Karen has done an absolutely amazing job in staying true to the characters. She has managed to keep them human, which is truly remarkable. Just like all of us, these characters have their faults. However, what makes this series so special is that you get to see over and over again that when we trust in Christ, an abundance of goodness can come into our lives. It's a beautiful reminder that no matter how flawed we may be, with the love and guidance of Christ, we can experience transformation and growth. This series is not only entertaining but also deeply inspiring. It has the power to touch your heart and make you believe in the power of Christ's love.

One of my favorites.

There is a lot happening in this installment, yet it concludes the series quite nicely.

One of my favorite subplots was undoubtedly the story of Luke and Reagan.

To be honest, Ashley and Landon are such a charming and seemingly perfect couple. So, it was rather refreshing to witness the more realistic marriage struggles that Luke and Reagan faced.

I especially loved their mom's letter filled with valuable marriage advice.

This added an extra layer of depth and authenticity to their relationship.

The way the author portrayed their journey through the challenges of marriage made it relatable and engaging.

It showed that even in a fictional world, marriages are not always smooth sailing.

Overall, this aspect of the story was a great addition and contributed to the overall appeal of the series.

It made me root for Luke and Reagan and hope that they would find a way to work through their difficulties and strengthen their bond.
