It concluded with a beautiful family aspect, which I initially thought wouldn't be the case. Well, Reagan, I was mistaken.

When I pick up a Christian fiction novel, my intention is to unwind a bit and not overly analyze the media I'm engaging with. Nevertheless, this doesn't hold true when the entire "faith-based" aspect distorts the Christian faith. I found myself skimming and skipping each and every prayer or reflective moment, as they were all extremely embarrassing. Cease taking verses out of context. Quit stating that God audibly answers prayers. Stop claiming that God desires his people to have flawless lives. And please, stop pretending that every single person in Bloomington is a believer. It's disheartening to see such inaccuracies and misinterpretations in a work that is supposed to be based on the Christian faith. It makes it difficult for readers like me to truly engage with and appreciate the story when the foundation of the faith is being misrepresented in such a blatant way.

Karen Kingsbury, I want you to know that your books have had a profound impact on me. They have the power to touch my heart and bring tears to my eyes.

I have a deep affection for Karen Kingsbury and the Baxter family. However, I must admit that in this particular book, I felt the storyline had a tendency to drag.

Katy's character, unfortunately, comes across as rather weak-minded. Her constant indecisiveness and overthinking become a bit tiresome after a while.

On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed reading from Ashley's perspective. It added a new dimension to the story and allowed me to see the events from a different angle.

Nevertheless, the excessive focus on Katy and her indecisive thoughts detracted from the overall enjoyment of the book. I wish there had been a better balance between the different characters and their storylines.

Despite these drawbacks, I still have a great appreciation for Karen Kingsbury's writing and the Baxter family. I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.
