Stasi Eldredge loves writing and speaking to women about the goodness of God. She spent her childhood years in Prairie Village, Kansas, for which she is truly grateful. Her family moved to southern California back in the really bad smog days when she was ten. She loved theater and acting and took a partiality to her now-husband, John, when they were friends in high school. Stasi earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology from San Diego State University, which she attended primarily because it was close to the beach. She became a Christian her junior year in college and dove into the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. After graduating, Stasi joined Youth for Christ, heading up a ministry to pregnant teenagers and teen mothers. She has been active in ministry ever since, including theater ministry, crisis pregnancy center ministry, women's ministry, and children's ministry. The Eldredge family moved to Colorado in 1991.

Stasi loves the joy and freedom that comes from knowing the passionate, stunning love of Jesus Christ and lives to see others come to know him more deeply. She loves worship music, time to bake, celebrating life, getting lost in a good novel, baths, walking in the woods, hearing her sons' laughter, the sound of wind in the trees, a good cup of coffee, the smell of the earth after it rains, a powerful turn of phrase, animals in the wild, gardens, freshly mowed grass, family traditions, cherished friendships, the Tetons, rivers, mountain lakes, the grace and beauty of horses, the affection of her dog, and most of all, her family and her God.

A big fat joke full of Christian subservient wife propaganda.

It is truly astonishing to come across such content that seems to promote an outdated and rather demeaning view of a wife's role.

In a modern and progressive society, we should be moving away from such ideas that limit a woman's autonomy and individuality.

The concept of a subservient wife goes against the principles of equality and mutual respect that are fundamental to healthy relationships.

Christianity, like many religions, has the potential to offer valuable teachings and inspiration, but when it is misused or misinterpreted to promote such regressive ideals, it becomes a source of ridicule rather than enlightenment.

We should encourage a more inclusive and empowering understanding of religious teachings that respects the rights and dignity of all individuals, regardless of gender.

Only then can we truly move forward and build a more just and harmonious world.

I truly discovered that this is an extremely concise and well-structured book. It beautifully summarizes the essence of a mother, filled with copious amounts of advice that can warm a mother's heart. It is an effortless read, featuring short chapters that can be completed in one or two sittings, or even used as a daily devotional-style book.


I have not perused the full-length book titled Captivating. However, I am well aware of the arduous task of condensing a full-sized novel. Thus, I can envision the great difficulty that the author, Stasi Eldredge, must have faced in assembling this highly motivating paperback in such a concise manner.


Her ability to distill the important aspects and present them in a clear and engaging way is truly remarkable. This book has the potential to touch the lives of many mothers and offer them valuable insights and inspiration. It serves as a wonderful resource for those seeking to understand and embrace the role of motherhood more fully.

If I could have given this book no stars, I would have.

This book is truly a disappointment. From the very beginning, it fails to capture my attention. The story is dull and lacks any real excitement or innovation. The characters are one-dimensional and uninteresting, making it difficult to form any kind of emotional connection with them.

The writing style is also a major drawback. It is平淡无奇 and lacks the vividness and descriptiveness that would have made the book come alive. There are no beautiful prose or engaging dialogues to keep the reader hooked.

This is such a great reminder of God's view on my role as a mother. It makes me stop and think deeply about the significance and importance of what I do every day. God has entrusted me with the precious gift of motherhood, and it is my responsibility to raise my children in His ways. I need to be a source of love, guidance, and support for them.
