Marsuvees Black was a teacher at the Project Showdown monastery above Paradise, Colorado. Secretly, he tempted all of the children to enter the forbidden dungeons and write in the Books of History, knowing that whatever the children wrote would come true. He also used to books to create an exact copy of himself. Both the original Marsuvees Black and his duplicates are known by the same name. At the end of Showdown, the duplicate kills the original Black and assumes his identity. He escapes Paradise with several pages stolen from the Books of History, which he uses to create many other "false people" like himself. The false Marsuvees Black is killed by Billy Redinger at the end of Sinner.…more
