There is a glaring issue! The cover image is missing! Aaug!

This book is truly a gem. It contains some extremely funny medieval-type comments that never fail to amuse. It is one of my absolute favorite books to both look at and read. :)

I have to place it on my art shelf without hesitation. Why? Because it constantly serves as a source of inspiration for me to draw. The unique and charming content within its pages seems to spark my creativity and drive me to pick up my pencils and bring my own artistic visions to life. It's not just a book; it's a catalyst for my artistic endeavors.

Herbert the Timid Dragon is an enchanting story.

It revolves around a shy dragon named Herbert who has a big dream of becoming a knight.

He decides to prove himself by saving the princess. However, being a dragon, people misunderstand his intentions and think he is stealing the princess.

When the army arrives to rescue her, Herbert accidentally scares them all away.

Tragically, the princess is then kidnapped by an evil duke.

Undeterred, Herbert decides to save her again.

This time, he succeeds in rescuing the princess.

Impressed by his bravery, the King makes Herbert the first knight.

This book would be an excellent choice for third graders as it is both fun and interesting.

It can capture their imagination and teach them valuable lessons about courage and perseverance.

The engaging plot and charming characters make it a delightful read for young readers.

The original article might be: "This is a simple description."

Expanded version:

This is a rather simple description. It doesn't go into great detail or complexity. However, sometimes simplicity can be charming. It allows the reader to quickly understand the basic idea. In this case, it might be just enough to give a general impression. But perhaps there is more that could be said. Maybe additional details could be added to make it more engaging and interesting.

Mom read this to me at Grandma's house.

That princess. She was so charming and elegant. Her every move was filled with grace and poise. I was completely captivated by her style.

Her beautiful gown flowed like a river of silk, and the sparkle of her jewelry was like stars in the night sky. She had a kind and gentle smile that could melt anyone's heart.

I imagined myself being like her, with such beauty and charm. I wanted to have the same confidence and elegance in my own life.

As Mom continued to read, I was lost in the magical world of the princess. It was a world full of wonder and dreams.

From that day on, the princess became my inspiration. I wanted to strive to be the best version of myself, just like her.

I loved it!

This simple statement holds a world of meaning. It could refer to a book that took me on an unforgettable adventure, a movie that made my heart race and my eyes well up with tears, or a piece of music that spoke directly to my soul.

Maybe it was a delicious meal that satisfied my taste buds like no other, or a beautiful sunset that painted the sky in colors I had never seen before.

Whatever it was, it had a profound impact on me. It made me feel alive, happy, and full of joy.

I will always remember that moment when I first experienced it and how it made me feel.

It will be a cherished memory that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

This is one of my all-time favorites.

Herbert discovers he has moxie. It's truly a remarkable moment. Herbert, who was once a rather ordinary and perhaps a bit shy individual, suddenly realizes that he possesses this inner strength and courage.

He starts to show it in various aspects of his life. Maybe it's in the way he stands up for himself in a difficult situation or the way he takes on new challenges with confidence.

This newfound moxie gives Herbert a whole new lease on life. He becomes more assertive, more determined, and more willing to take risks.

It's as if a switch has been flipped inside him, and he is now ready to face whatever comes his way with a sense of boldness and tenacity.

Herbert's discovery of his moxie is not only a personal triumph but also an inspiration to those around him. It shows that we all have hidden reserves of strength within us, just waiting to be discovered and unleashed.

I didn't think I was going to like this book, but I did.

I had my practicum students pick out children's books they thought would be fun to read, and the boy I'm working with picked this one.

(The plan is for him to read it aloud to me to work on his fluency with oral reading).

The story was cute. I liked how the dragon meant well, but the people didn't understand his roaring and his attacks were really accidental.

It was interesting to see how the dragon tried to make amends and how the people finally came to accept him.

The illustrations were nice too. They were colorful and detailed, and most of them included additional print for kids to read.

This added an extra layer of engagement for the children and made the book more interactive.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this book and I'm looking forward to seeing how my student does when he reads it aloud to me.
