I found the first two volumes in a box from the college days. It was such a pleasant surprise. Re-reading them has been a total pleasure. It's like taking a journey back in time and experiencing those emotions and ideas all over again.
If you aren't familiar with Ms. Nin, here is my lazy way to comment. You can refer to the Wikipedia entry. It states that "Anaïs Nin's most important works, in the judgment of both herself and scholars, are her diaries or journals. The journals, which span several decades, provide a deeply explorative insight into her personal life and relationships. Nin was acquainted, often quite intimately, with a number of prominent authors, artists, psychoanalysts, and other figures, and wrote of them often, especially Otto Rank. Moreover, as a female author describing a primarily masculine constellation of celebrities, Nin's journals have acquired importance as a counterbalancing perspective."
Her writing is so rich and detailed, and it offers a unique look into a world that is both fascinating and complex. I highly recommend giving her works a try.
Boring. This simple word can describe a feeling that many of us experience at times. It's that sense of dullness, lack of excitement, or monotony. Maybe it's when we're sitting through a long, uninteresting lecture, doing the same repetitive tasks at work, or simply having nothing to do. Boredom can make time seem to pass slowly and can leave us feeling unfulfilled. However, it's important to note that boredom can also be a catalyst for creativity and change. When we're bored, our minds have the opportunity to wander and come up with new ideas or ways to break the routine. We can use this time to explore new hobbies, learn something new, or simply take a break and recharge. So, while boredom may not be the most pleasant feeling, it can actually be a valuable experience if we approach it with the right mindset.
