The thing about Anais's diaries is that, in my opinion, they aren't extremely interesting or captivating to flip through.

However, there are times when she offers these flashes of eloquence that make it seem as if she is reading your mind.

Whether you will or won't enjoy her diaries depends on how much you value those particular parts of the prose.

Some might find her writing style too平淡 or uneventful, while others might be drawn to the rare moments of profound insight and beauty.

It's a matter of personal preference and what one is looking for in a literary work.

Overall, Anais's diaries are a unique and somewhat polarizing collection that offers a glimpse into the mind of a complex and creative individual.

Inégal.

It is always interesting to note that the majority of well-known artistic personalities of their time were just ordinary human beings like the rest of us, often facing much greater difficulties in living life than the humble common people.

It follows that the majority of their artistic production, born out of the use of psychotropic drugs, is nothing but futile verbiage and essentially an expression of childish malaise.

Still, it has given me the urge to read Proust.

Perhaps by delving into Proust's works, we can gain a deeper understanding of the complex inner worlds of these artistic personalities and the true nature of their creative processes.

Maybe we will discover that beneath the surface of their seemingly glamorous lives, there lies a wealth of emotions, struggles, and insights that are both universal and profound.

Reading Proust could be a journey of self-discovery and a way to appreciate the artistry and genius that lies within us all.

Who knows what hidden treasures await us as we turn the pages of his masterpieces?

I do not remember this one as well as volume I. It seems that I will have to start collecting these so that I can read all of them.

What can I say? As a Millennial, over-the-top narcissism really appeals to me. It's too bad she wasn't born in the eighties. Then she wouldn't have had to end up dying from a series of unsafe, illegal abortions.

When I was fifteen, I was convinced I had seen her. However, I am still not really clear on what that meant. Because she wasn't a ghost, I don't think. But I was still certain it was her. So, I don't know what that leaves. I don't see things very often, at least not like that. So, yeah, I don't know. I think she was dressed modern, but I always sort of saw her as 'timeless'. So maybe I imagined the whole thing. It's very possible. She also smiled at me, and I remember thinking "OMFG Anais Nin just SMILED AT ME".

Normal celebrities... Why couldn't I have been young enough to be a swifty?

Weirdo.
